Data from: Visual landmarks sharpen grid cell metric and confer context specificity to neurons of the medial entorhinal cortex
The dataset contains the data of the two experiments of the article "Visual landmarks sharpen grid cell metric and confer context specificity to neurons of the medial entorhinal cortex", labeled "circular_platform" and "linear_track". There is an experiment directory for both. Within each experiment directory, there are several animal directories. Within each animal directory, there are several recording session directories.
The data files are in the recording session directories. All included files are text files. The file names have the recording session name (e.g. jp693-11062015-0108) and an extension.
A further text file in the database explains more details about the data, including a practical example on how to operate with them
Smart speakers and customer experience in service contexts
This project analyzes the impact of customer journey automation through Artificial intelligence on customer engagement, mediated by brand experience, social cognition and psichological ownership.
The dataset includes 3 files employed in the publication "Smart speakers and customer experience in service contexts", corresponding to Studies 1, 2 and 3.
Study 1: Data were collected from a review platform, Tripadvisor.
Study 2: Data were collected through a questionnaire implemented in Qualtrics. The sample consisted of 322 Spanish participants.
Study 3: Data were collected from a sample consisted of 33 Portuguese participants, recruited through convenience sampling.
Methodology:
Study 1: web scrapping + sentiment analysis.
Study 2: experiment + partial least squares modelling.
Study 3: survey + text analysis.

The adoption of eco-innovation by SMEs enterpreneurs: barriers and leaders' personality traits
We empirically analyze the personality traits of 40 leaders from Spanish SMEs involved in EI.
Based on an original semistructured personal interview, we identify the perceived barriers that had to be overcome to pursue
EI, as well as the intensity and type of EI that was conducted. We apply fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) to analyze the influence of personality traits given the sample size and research objectives of this study

Hand grip strength in boys and girls from summer school camps in Spain, 1900–1925. A comparison with 21st century data.
Data were transcribed from the archives of general anthropological forms collected by MPN between 1900 and 1925. Data were validated, filtered and finally pooled according to children age and the year of measurement. They were analysed in search of any secular trends and also in comparison with more contemporary published data from Spanish populations.
Unpublished primary data for hand grip strength were collected from historical records of schoolchildren attending summer camps organized by the Spanish National Pedagogic Museum between 1900 and 1925. This work assesses a possible secular change in this dynamometric parameter, also comparing to later studies up to the present.</p

Supplementary material for the article "Comparing a LEGO® Serious Play Activity With a Traditional Lecture in Software Engineering Education"
This dataset contains the data related to the article "Comparing a LEGO® Serious Play Activity With a Traditional Lecture in Software Engineering Education" with DOI 10.1109/ACCESS.2024.3403504. This dataset contains data of 227 software engineering students, 110 of which belonged to the control group while the other 117 were part of the experimental group. The first tab of the file contains pre-test and post-test scores, and the resulting Learning gain for each student, whereas the second tab of the file contains the results of a perceptions questionnaire with 9 items (2 items were only fullfilled by students of the experimental group). All data was anonymized so that the identity of the participants cannot be ascertained. The aforementioned article can be openly accessed at https://doi.org/10.1109/ACCESS.2024.3403504

Supplementary code for the article: Extending cellular evolutionary algorithms with message passing
Cellular evolutionary algorithms (cEAs) use structured populations whose evolutionary cycle is governed by local interactions among individuals. This helps to prevent the premature convergence to local optima that usually takes place in panmictic populations. The present work extends cEAs by means of a message passing phase whose main effect is a more effective exploration of the search space. The mutated offspring that potentially replaces the original individual under cEAs is considered under message passing cellular evolutionary algorithms (MPcEAs) as a message sent from the original individual to itself. In MPcEAs, unlike in cEAs, a new message is sent from the original individual to each of its neighbors, representing a neighbor’s mutated offspring whose second parent is selected from the neighborhood of the original individual. Thus, every individual in the population ultimately receives one additional candidate for replacement from each of its neighbors rather than having a unique candidate. Experimental tests conducted in the domain of real function optimization for continuous search spaces show that, in general, MPcEAs significantly outperform cEAs in terms of effectiveness. Specifically, the best solution obtained through MPcEAs has an importantly improved fitness quality in comparison to that obtained by cEAs.<p
Is there life beyond the Spanish government’s aid to furloughed employees by COVID-19?
