Management durable : des raisons d'espérer ? Regards croisés de chercheurs en sciences de gestion de l'Université Paris-Saclay
International audienceLe développement durable est devenu un des enjeux majeurs de nos sociétés du fait notamment des enjeux environnementaux (changement climatique, anthropocène, déclin de la biodiversité) et sociétaux (montée des inégalités, tensions géopolitiques, fragilisation du consensus démocratique) qui lui sont associés. Cela rend d’autant plus nécessaire un décodage des facteurs qui pèsent sur notre devenir et des réponses susceptibles de leur être apportées. Dans ce contexte, les organisations jouent un rôle central, étant au carrefour des multiples interactions économiques, sociales et sociétales. Celles-ci sont engagées dans des processus de reconfiguration de leur chaîne de valeur en mettant au cœur de leur priorité le management de la durabilité. Cet ouvrage vise à analyser comment le management peut servir de catalyseur aux initiatives engagées au service de la pérennité des organisations ainsi que de leurs parties prenantes. Il réunit des contributions de chercheurs en sciences de gestion de l’Université Paris-Saclay qui questionnent pratiques, démarches et outils susceptibles d’être mobilisés à cette fin. Il offre des perspectives nouvelles qui sont autant de raisons d’espérer face aux profondes mutations à venir.</p

CellMAP: an open-source software tool to batch-process cell topography and stiffness maps collected with an atomic force microscope
International audienceAtomic force microscopy (AFM) is the gold-standard technique to simultaneously map the morphology and viscoelastic properties of living cells. Although existing software tools, both open-source and from AFM manufacturers, can analyze cells individually, there is a growing need for fast and accessible codes to compile data from multiple cells into a single dataset. To address this, we present CellMAP, a user-friendly software tool that streamlines the batch-processing of AFM-derived topography and stiffness maps of living cells. Our analysis pipeline includes but is not limited to: flattening of the underlying substrate surface, filtering of outlier values, measurement of the cell surface and volume, and measurement of height and stiffness distributions. CellMAP can also generate a composite cell that reflects the height and stiffness properties of an entire cell population
Evolution-assisted engineering of E. coli enables growth on formic acid at ambient CO2 via the Serine Threonine Cycle
International audienceAtmospheric CO2 poses a major threat to life on Earth by causing global warming and climate change. On the other hand, it can be considered as a resource that is scalable enough to establish a circular carbon economy. Accordingly, technologies to capture and convert CO2 into reduced one-carbon (C1) compounds (e.g. formic acid) are developing and improving fast. Driven by the idea of creating sustainable bioproduction platforms, natural and synthetic C1-utilization pathways are engineered into industrially relevant microbes. The realization of synthetic C1-assimilation cycles in living organisms is a promising but challenging endeavour. Here, we engineer the Serine Threonine Cycle, a synthetic C1-assimilation cycle in Escherichia coli to achieve growth on formic acid. Our stepwise engineering approach in tailored selection strains combined with adaptive laboratory evolution experiments enabled formatotrophic growth of the organism. Whole genome sequencing and reverse engineering allowed us to determine the key mutations linked to pathway activity. The Serine Threonine Cycle strains created in this work use formic acid as sole carbon and energy source and can grow at ambient CO2 cultivation conditions. This work sets an example for the engineering of complex C1-assimilation cycles in heterotrophic microbes

A cutting-plane algorithm for an orienteering problem with mandatory visits and simultaneous production
International audienceThis work investigates an orienteering problem with mandatory visits and simultaneous production (denoted by OPMV-SP) in additive manufacturing, where some nodes must be visited and others are optional, and the objective is to maximise the total collected scores. The problem is firstly formulated as a mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) model. Four sets of valid inequalities are then introduced to enhance the MILP. Based on the MILP, an exact method namely cutting-plane algorithm (CPA) is developed and evaluated on both benchmark and simulated instances. The results of benchmarks demonstrate that CPA is competitive, proving the optimality for 191 out of 202 feasible instances. Additionally, the performance of different combinations of valid inequalities are evaluated. Sensitivity analysis on the effects of mandatory visits and waiting times offers managerial insights for production and delivery strategies. The results of simulated instances of real-world cases further demonstrate CPA's efficiency and effectiveness
Evaluating the air quality transmission among Southeast Asian cities
This study evaluates the air quality transmission among Southeast Asian cities which include Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Jakarta. We investigate the daily air quality datasets from 28 August 2019 to 04 April 2023 using the multivariate generalized autoregressive conditional heteroskedasticity modeling framework combined with the conditional correlation mechanism. We find significant bilateral interactions between Ho Chi Minh City and Bangkok and between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. In specific, the air quality in Ho Chi Minh City and Bangkok positively affects to each other. Besides, the air quality in Singapore positively drives the air quality in Kuala Lumpur, but the inverse relation is negative. These findings preliminary suggest bilateral environmental agreements among subregions of Southeast Asia. Such treaties are expected to lay the background for future agenda in relation to environmental protection, especially in pursuit of sustainable development
Electron Transfer Dissociation of Alkali‐Cationized Phosphatidylcholines Allows Easy Double Bonds and sn‐1/sn‐2 Localizations
International audienceRationale :The emergence of new mass spectrometry (MS) dissociation methods has highlighted lipid isomers as new biomarkers. Only a few commercial methods without derivatization are available to characterize phosphatidylcholines (PCs) at the isomeric level. We propose to use electron transfer dissociation (ETD) as a method to determine the position of both double bonds and stereo numbering ( sn ) on glycerol for PC species. Methods :Doubly charged PCs were analyzed using alkali salts to promote the formation of [PC + 2Alk] 2+ species. ETD‐MS 2 experiments were performed using a quadrupole ion trap mass spectrometer with an ESI source to annotate sn ‐positions. ETD‐CID‐MS 3 experiments were then done on ETnoD [M + 2Alk] +• or [M + 2Alk−N(CH 3 ) 3 ] +• species to localize double bond positions. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations and cyclic ion mobility spectrometry c‐IMS‐MS/MS experiments were used to support fragmentation assumptions. Results : ETD‐MS 2 experiments exhibit a systematic sn ‐2 favorable cleavage, allowing sn ‐positioning through a radical cation‐driven mechanism supported by DFT calculations. This behavior contrasts with CID experiments, in which the initial positioning of alkali cations influences ester bond cleavage, as shown by c‐IMS‐MS/MS experiments. The dissociation process studied for ETD‐CID‐MS 3 experiments on 10 different PC isomers allowed us to localize double bonds for either monounsaturated or polyunsaturated species. Conclusions : The dissociation rules established for ETD‐MS 2 and ETD‐CID‐MS 3 experiments on PC isomers enable their annotation at the isomeric level without instrumental modification or complex sample preparation. This method could be easily coupled to LC separation using post‐column introduction of an alkali salt for complex mixture analysis
Intellectual capital profit chain: linking human resource management practice systems to customer orientation
International audienceBackground: The literature regarding the relationship between HRM and customer orientation in the service context largely ignores the processes and expected management actions outside marketing, and particularly within Human Resource Management. This has hampered the wider adoption of the Service Profit Chain (SPC) model. The present article is an attempt to rectify this problem; it draws on intellectual capital literature and the group psychology theory pioneered by Mary Follett to propose the Intellectual Capital Profit Chain (ICPC) model.Objective: The paper links HRM and intellectual capital to the key marketing variables of customer orientation, customer satisfaction and to business performance in a full model that has not previously been presented.Results: The ICPC model recasts intra- and inter-organizational activities as contributing to the accumulation of intellectual capital, in turn driving both engagement and customer orientation.Conclusions: The development of the ICPC model forms the main contribution of this paper as it can serve as a framework for building and managing HRM configurations that align with human, social, and organizational capital to promote customer orientation
