Grit's contribution to developing student school engagement with teacher support as moderator
School engagement is an important aspect that supports students' academic success. This study aims to prove the contribution of grit moderated by teacher support to students' school engagement. The participants of this study were 237 students, consisting of 94 males and 143 females, who were selected through a purposive sampling technique. The analysis shows that grit positively and significantly affects students' school engagement [β = 0.433 (43.3%), p-value = 0.001]. In moderation, the teacher support variable can moderate the influence of the grit variable on school engagement, with the magnitude of the effect increasing to 0.497 (49.7%) and a significance value of P = 0.043. Additional results of gender analysis of the level of school engagement of students at school are more excellent for male students than female students. These findings can be used to increase student engagement in schools by strengthening the quality of student grit and by moderating the provision of teacher support and attention

Handwriting speed, visual-motor skills, and attitudes toward writing in the context of handwriting legibility of students with learning disabilities
Many studies on learning disability (LD) have focused on the reading skills of students; however, many students with LDs struggle with basic handwriting skills, which are fundamental for all ages in school and everyday functioning. The purpose of this study was to examine the handwriting legibility of students with LDs in conjunction with their handwriting speed, visual-motor skills, and attitudes toward writing. The sample included 75 third- to fourth-grade students in a metropolitan city in Türkiye. The assessment task aligned with the research purpose: for the students to copy the Turkish text, copy geometrical figures, and answer questions related to attitudes toward writing. Correlations among variables varied; however, the results confirmed that handwriting speed, visual-motor skills, and attitudes toward writing predicted the handwriting legibility of students with LDs. There are intricate relationships between handwriting speed, visual-motor skills, and attitudes toward writing. The results have implications for research and practice
Rethinking cognitive psycho-education -4T Model- in the psychotherapy of religious obsessive-compulsive disorder: Report of three resistant cases
In religious obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), the current cognitive model does not seem to be convincing enough for patients to understand the source of their obsessions and to distinguish between their obsessions and their religious beliefs (iman) and values, which affects secure relationships in therapy. Therefore, there is a need for both religious sensitivity and model proposals to solve the problem of lack of persuasiveness of cognitive psychoeducation. From this perspective, the present case study uses the 4T model (tahayyul (imagination), tasawwur (conceptualization/detailed imagination), taakkul (reasoning/reflecting), tasdiq (confirmation)), which is a hierarchical cognitive model and adapted with the inspirations from the texts of Muslim scholars (specifically from Nursi’s text of Treatise on Scrupulosity) on cognitive processes. A case report of three individuals with religious OCD is presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of this treatment method. Symptoms were measured in therapy using the Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale, Beck Depression Inventory, Beck Anxiety Inventory, and Padua Inventory scales. Feedback was obtained for post-intervention assessment. The participants received 30 individual face-to-face therapy sessions, one per week, with an average duration of 50 minutes per session, and follow-up sessions were also conducted after the completion of treatment. The results from the three cases of individuals with religiously resistant OCD symptoms, which resulted in improvement on all scale scores, demonstrate that the model is substantially effective, particularly in addressing thought-action fusion (TAF). Furthermore, the thought hierarchy offered by the model is practical and compelling in the process of cognitive restructuring
Unraveling the nexus: Emotional abuse, emotional competence, self-concept, and academic achievement among adolescents
This research delves into the intricate relationship between emotional abuse, emotional competence, self-concept, and academic achievement among adolescents in Kashmir, with a specific focus on gender differences. Adolescence, marked by vulnerability, witnesses the profound impact of emotional abuse on cognitive, emotional, and psychological development. A comprehensive survey involving 300 high school students reveals significant gender disparities in emotional abuse experiences, emotional competence levels, self-concept, and academic achievement. Boys are shown to be more susceptible to emotional abuse, particularly in dimensions such as rejection, terrorizing, isolation, ignoring, and corruption. Conversely, girls exhibit higher emotional competence, self-concept, and academic achievement, emphasizing the role of societal and familial dynamics. The study underscores the need for targeted interventions recognizing gender-specific nuances, aiming to mitigate the adverse effects of emotional abuse and foster a conducive environment for the emotional and academic well-being of adolescents. The findings contribute to a nuanced understanding of the multifaceted challenges faced by adolescents in the context of emotional well-being and academic success
Orta Asya'da Geleneksel ve Yeni Hegemon Güçler
After the dissolution of the USSR in 1991, a power vacuum emerged in Central Asia, with new republics creating opportunities for global powers to exert influence. This region holds immense geopolitical importance due to its strategic location and natural resources. In recent years, the region's political landscape has shifted, with a decline in Russia's traditional dominance and the rise of new actors, including Türkiye. This thesis examines the evolving dynamics between regional powers, particularly Russia and Türkiye, in Central Asia. It analyzes the historical, economic, and security factors contributing to Russia's diminishing influence, leading to weakened economic and financial stability. In contrast, Türkiye's growing diplomatic and economic initiatives are positioning it as a potential alternative to Russia's long-standing role in the region. The study explores whether Türkiye can fill the vacuum left by Russia, assessing its potential to become a credible power in Central Asia. By focusing on Türkiye's investments, diplomatic strategies, and cooperation with Central Asian states, the research evaluates its capacity to foster greater integration and influence. Despite Russia's declining authority, its geographic proximity and deep historical ties to the region still provide it with a significant advantage in maintaining bilateral relations. However, as geopolitical dynamics continue to shift, Türkiye's increasing presence presents new opportunities for regional cooperation. The central question remains: can Türkiye overcome Russia's historical dominance and establish itself as a leading force in Central Asia?SSCB'nin 1991'deki dağılmasının ardından Orta Asya'da bir güç boşluğu oluştu ve bu yeni cumhuriyetlerin, küresel güçlerin etki kurma fırsatlarını yaratmasıyla sonuçlandı.

An examination of teachers' perceptions in public schools regarding their personal performance, organizational resilience, and the level of quantum leadership in their schools in relation to various variables
The aim of this study is to examine the personal performance of teachers, the resilience levels of the schools they work in, and the quantum leadership levels of their principals. The population of the study consisted of 4,702 teachers working in Düzce during the 2021-2022 academic year, while the sample included 409 teachers selected through the stratified sampling method. The "Quantum Leadership Behaviors of School Administrators Scale," the "Teacher Performance Evaluation Scale," the "Organizational Resilience Scale," and personal information form were utilized in the research. AMOS 21 and SPSS 24 package programmes were used to analyse the data and teachers' opinions were examined in the light of various variables. The research findings revealed that male teachers had higher perceptions of quantum leadership and organizational resilience compared to female teachers. Similarly, it was determined that teachers with a bachelor's degree exhibited higher perceptions in these areas compared to those with a master's degree. Additionally, the results indicated that as the duration of working with the current principal increased, teachers' perceptions of quantum leadership, organizational resilience, and their own performance also showed an increase. Based on these findings, it can be suggested that various efforts should be undertaken to enhance the resilience of schools and to ensure effective crisis management. Additionally, it is recommended that all possible stakeholders
Transformative learning: Flipped classroom and its impact on writing skill and critical thinking level
The study sought to ascertain if critical thinking instruction delivered via the Flipped Classroom may improve students’ EFL writing skills. In addition to determining if the present instructional model influences students’ views of critical thinking and attitudes toward Flipped Learning integration, another goal is to determine whether students’ attitudes about Flipped Learning integration change. Students at the School of Languages at the upper-intermediate level took part in a reading and writing course to enhance their writing abilities. It was an experimental study with two groups consisting of an experimental group and a control group that each got training from the researcher for six weeks, and each group included 15 students. A variety of qualitative and quantitative data collection tools were used for this study, with the California critical thinking level inventory survey used in the first phase of the study, and critical thinking interviews used in the latter stage of the flipping classroom survey. Analyzing students’ responses to the California Critical Thinking Level Inventory found that the experimental group outperformed the control group, indicating a substantial boost in critical thinking abilities in those who took part in the experiment. The findings of the Flipped Classroom questionnaire show that students have a significant influence on the new teaching model in terms of their opinions regarding it
