Measurements of WH and ZH production with Higgs boson decays into bottom quarks and direct constraints on the charm Yukawa coupling in 13 TeV pp collisions with the ATLAS detector
A study of the Higgs boson (H) decaying into bottom quarks (H→bbˉ) and charm quarks (H→ccˉ) is performed, in the associated production channel of the Higgs boson with a W or Z boson (VH), using 140 fb-1 of proton-proton collision data at sqrt(s)=13 TeV collected by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The individual production of WH and ZH with H→bbˉ is established with observed (expected) significances of 5.3 (5.5) and 4.9 (5.6) standard deviations (σ), respectively, confirming the observation of both processes. Differential cross-section measurements of the gauge boson transverse momentum within the Simplified Template Cross-Section (STXS) framework are performed in a total of 13 kinematical fiducial regions. The search for the H→ccˉ decay yields an observed (expected) upper limit at 95% confidence level of 11.5 (10.6) times the Standard Model prediction. The results are also used to set constraints on the charm Yukawa coupling modifier (κc), resulting in ∣κc∣<4.2 at 95% confidence level. Finally, combining the H→bbˉ and H→ccˉ measurements constrains the absolute value of the ratio of Higgs-charm and Higgs-bottom coupling modifiers (∣κc/κb∣) to be less than 3.6 at 95% confidence level

Sustainable self-assisted home haemodialysis through telemedicine: an economic and environmental perspective
Purpose This study aims to provide evidence of the economic and environmental dimensions of the tele-assisted home haemodialysis (HHD) services compared to the in-centre, assisted and self-assisted modalities. Design/methodology/approach A case study approach is used to analyse the different teledialysis modes, with interviews with the staff of the “Vito Fazzi” hospital in Lecce. As for the economic analysis, the authors considered only direct costs (i.e. dialytic services costs and transport services costs), whereas for the environmental analysis, the authors considered CO2 emissions related to transportation and water consumption. Findings Data analysis revealed that tele-assisted HHD allows for saving costs of each session when compared to in-centre haemodialytic treatments. In particular, economic savings are significant only for self-assisted HHD (SA-HHD) rather than Assisted HHD (A-HHD), reaching percentages of cost reduction going from −38% to −59% when compared to in-centre haemodialytic treatments based on car transport, and from −55% to −67% when compared to in-centre haemodialytic treatments based on ambulance transport. As for environmental sustainability, savings of CO2 emissions and water consumption are more significant for SA-HHD with respect to A-HHD. Research limitations/implications The study has some limits mainly related to the typologies of costs considered (e.g. indirect costs are not considered) and the CO2 calculation (e.g. energy consumption is not considered). Practical implications The analysis carried out demonstrates a consistent reduction of costs, CO2 emissions and water consumption in case of adoption of SA-HHD treatments, as compared to in-centre dialysis modes. This brings to consider relevant the training of patients and their families to proceed toward a decentralization of dialysis service enabled by digital technologies (Teledialysis – TD) that makes possible the access to SA-HHD. Originality/value The paper investigates the economic and environmental dimensions of an emerging telemedicine service that will be largely diffused worldwide in the population in the coming years
Inclusione in Movimento: la Voce dei e delle Docenti nel Monitoraggio di Processo del Programma di Pause Attive ABMOVE!
Nell’attuale dibattito in ambito pedagogico-didattico inclusivo, che sempre più si sta focalizzando sulla progettazione di ambienti di apprendimento di qualità volti a valorizzare le differenze individuali di tutte e tutti, le pause attive possono avere un ruolo nel migliorare l’apprendimento, la partecipazione nel setting d’aula e il benessere di studentesse e studenti. Tuttavia, la loro integrazione sistematica nella didattica disciplinare, con un’attenzione all’inclusione, è ancora poco indagata. Questo studio presenta un’analisi di processo del programma PRIN PNRR ABMOVE!, che introduce pause attive curriculum-based, predisposte sulla base dei principi dell’Universal Design for Learning, nella didattica della matematica nella scuola primaria. Hanno partecipato al monitoraggio online i/le docenti coinvolti/e nella sperimentazione del programma, implementato secondo un disegno RCT in 244 classi distribuite nelle tre regioni coinvolte: Piemonte, Puglia e Sicilia. I dati quali-quantitativi, raccolti tramite questionari e discussioni che hanno coinvolto attivamente i/le docenti, hanno esplorato le loro percezioni in merito ai cambiamenti nelle loro pratiche didattiche e agli effetti inclusivi osservati in aula con l’introduzione dell’intervento. Le/gli insegnanti segnalano un impatto positivo sul coinvolgimento, la partecipazione, il clima di classe e il consolidamento dei concetti matematici. Le pause attive sono percepite come strumento efficace per offrire una didattica flessibile, favorire l’interazione tra pari e ridurre, seppur parzialmente, barriere alla partecipazione, in particolare per alunni e alunne con BES e anche con ADHD. I risultati offrono spunti concreti per una didattica della matematica più inclusiva, attiva e sostenibile
On totally umbilical and minimal surfaces of the Lorentzian Heisenberg groups
This paper has manifold purposes. We first introduce a description of the Gauss map for submanifolds (both spacelike and timelike) of a Lorentzian ambient space and relate the conformality of the Gauss map of a surface to total umbilicity and minimality. We then focus on surfaces of the three-dimensional Heisenberg group, equipped with any of its left-invariant Lorentzian metrics. We prove that with the obvious exception of the flat case, no totally umbilical surfaces occur. On the other hand, we determine and explicitly describe several examples of minimal and constant mean curvature (CMC) surfaces

La rendicontazione del Valore Pubblico di filiera per la sostenibilità dei servizi pubblici locali a rete
I servizi pubblici locali a rete svolgono un ruolo cruciale per il successo delle strategie di sostenibilità, specialmente in un’ottica di governance collaborativa finalizzata alla co-produzione di Valore Pubblico (VP). In questo contesto, emerge la necessità di studiare quale sia il ruolo dell’accountability finalizzata al VP, specialmente in termini di rendicontazione. Attraverso il caso studio rappresentato dall’Agenzia di regolazione del servizio idrico e rifiuti dell’Emilia-Romagna (ATERSIR), il presente lavoro ha voluto indagare, mediante una Action Research, in che modo l’introduzione di un particolare documento di rendicontazione non finanziaria, denominato Report del VP, abbia contribuito ad attivare un ciclo di Public Value Management, nonché a rialimentare tutto il ciclo della performance di filiera. I risultati pongono l’accento sulla necessità di allineamento della pianificazione successiva all’esperienza di rendicontazione al fine di migliorare l’accountability nonché la governance della filiera
The Impact of a Music-and Movement-Based Intervention on Motor Competence, Social Engagement, and Behavior in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
Background/objectives: The main objective of this manuscript is to evaluate the effects of training, music, and movement intervention on motor functions, social engagement, and behaviors in autistic children. Methods: Twenty-one children with a diagnosis of mild autism spectrum disorder (ASD), with an age range of 5-to-13 years, were divided into two groups: the experimental group (n = 10) and the control group (n = 11). All participants were examined before (T0) and after the intervention (T1) to evaluate their motor functions (Bruininks-Oseretsky Motor Performance Test (BOT-2)), maladaptive behavior (RCS (Response to Challenge Scale)), and enjoyment and engagement (PACES (Physical Activity Enjoyment Scale)). Results: Statistical analysis showed that music and movement intervention significantly improved motor functions such as balance and bilateral coordination (p < 0.0001), social engagement (p = 0.002), and adaptive behaviors (p = 0.005) in children with ASD. Our research supports the feasibility of music and movement intervention and documents the interest in participating in children with ASD. Conclusions: This study demonstrates the benefits of movement and music interventions and can be considered a useful way to manage autism spectrum disorders in the future
The Endoscopic Management of Anastomotic Strictures After Esophagogastric Surgery: A Comprehensive Review of Emerging Approaches Beyond Endoscopic Dilation
: Anastomotic strictures are a common complication following esophagogastric surgery, with prevalence varying depending on the type of surgery and anatomical site. These strictures can lead to debilitating symptoms such as dysphagia, pain, and malabsorption, significantly impacting patients' quality of life. Endoscopic treatment of anastomotic strictures has established a role as the first-line strategy in this setting instead of revision surgery, offering benefits in terms of lower morbidity. Various endoscopic methods are available for anastomotic stricture management, including balloon dilation, stent placement, the new lumen-apposing metal stent, and endoscopic incision techniques. However, there is currently no strong evidence and established guidelines for the optimal treatment strategy. Available data suggest that endoscopic treatments, when performed in tertiary referral centers, can provide favorable outcomes in terms of symptom relief and reduced need for rescue surgical intervention. Nonetheless, challenges remain regarding the management of recurrent strictures and procedural complications, underscoring the need for a personalized, multidisciplinary approach to optimize clinical outcomes. This review aims to provide an updated overview of endoscopic techniques and available evidence with a focus on the most recent technologies, supporting clinicians in effectively managing anastomotic strictures in complex clinical settings
