Measurement of separate electron and positron spectra from 10 to 20 GeV with the geomagnetic field on DAMPE*
The cosmic-ray (CR) electrons and positrons in space are of considerable significance for studying the origin and propagation of CRs. The satellite-borne detector Dark Matter Particle Explorer (DAMPE) has been used to measure the separate electron and positron spectra, as well as the positron fraction. In this study, the Earth's magnetic field is used to distinguish CR electrons and positrons, as the DAMPE detector does not carry an onboard magnet. The energy for the measurements ranges from 10 to 20 GeV, which is currently limited at high energy by the zenith-pointing orientation of DAMPE. The results are consistent with previous measurements based on the magnetic spectrometer by AMS-02 and PAMELA, whereas the results of Fermi-LAT appear to be systematically shifted to larger values
Energy scale and resolution for anti-kt jets with radius parameters R=0.2 and 0.6 measured in proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s) = 13 TeV with the ATLAS detector
Jets with different radius parameters R are an important tool for probing quantum chromodynamics processes at different angular scales. Jets with small R=0.2 are instrumental in measurements of the substructure of large-R jets resulting from collimated hadronic decays of energetic W, Z, and Higgs bosons, top quarks, and of potential new resonances. This paper presents measurements of the energy scale, resolution, and associated uncertainties of jets with radius parameters R=0.2 and 0.6, obtained using the ATLAS detector. The results are based on 37 fb-1 of proton–proton collision data from the Large Hadron Collider at a centre-of-mass energy of s=13 TeV. A new in situ method for measuring jet energy scale differences between data and Monte Carlo simulations is presented. The systematic uncertainties in the jet energy scale for central jets (∣η∣<1.2) typically vary from 1% to about 5% as a function of ∣η∣ at very low transverse momentum, pT, of around 20 GeV for both R=0.2 and 0.6 jets. The relative energy resolution ranges from (35±6)% at pT=20 GeV to (6±0.5)% at pT=300 GeV for central R=0.2 jets, and is found to be slightly worse for R=0.6 jets. Finally, the effect of close-by hadronic activity on the jet energy scale is investigated and is found to be well modelled by the ATLAS Monte Carlo simulations

A comprehensive evaluation of the potential of plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria for applications in agriculture in stressed environments
The world is facing a consistent increase in human population and a noticeable decrease in cultivable lands due to soil salinization, abrupt climatic changes, and less rainfall. These problems have increased the importance of finding ecologically sustainable solutions to ensure global food security. Plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria can be advantageous to enhancing plant productivity and safeguarding against environmental stresses. They may assist plants by atmospheric nitrogen fixation, nutrient recycling, phosphate solubilization, iron sequestration via siderophore formation, and production of phytohormones like indole-3-acetic acid and 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate deaminase. They can also be used as biofertilizers and biocontrol agents as they produce antibiotics, exopolysaccharides, and hydrolytic enzymes. In this review, the connections between microbial populations, as microbial inoculants, and plant systems are highlighted, focusing on the enhancement of plant development, environmental resilience of agricultural systems, ecosystem services, and biological challenges under stressed conditions. This review also emphasizes the use of advanced molecular tools and techniques to effectively characterize potent soil microbial communities, their importance in increasing crop yield in stressed soils, and the prospects for future research
Measurement of the muon flux in the tunnels of Doss Trento hill
In the context of astroparticle physics, nuclear astrophysics and quantum computing projects, it is important identifying underground laboratories where the cosmogenic background is suppressed. Located about 500 m far from the center of Trento (Italy) the Piedicastello tunnels are covered by 100 m limestone rock of the Doss Trento hill. The site exceeds 6000m2 surface and is currently hosting events, temporary exhibitions, and educational activities. The cosmogenic background was measured in different locations within the Piedicastello tunnels with three portable scintillator telescopes having different geometrical acceptances. The muon flux measured in the deepest part was found to be about two orders of magnitude lower than the surface flux. This preliminary measurement suggests the use of the site as a facility in which a low environmental background is required

PHYSICAL LITERACY ASSESSMENT. A LITERATURE REVIEW
Physical literacy (PL) has become one of the main goals of physical education, extracurricular physical activity and the promotion of sport worldwide. In the National Guidelines (2012), teaching motor competencies is oriented to promote the factors that makeup PL. The paper aims to present a review of the main protocols and tests for the assessment of motor skills-abilities used in primary schools in order to analyze the structure and identify advantages and limitations. Assessing the teaching process and children’s motor skills is possible through various protocols, allowing systematic data to
be acquired, learning milestones to be monitored, and motor development to be followed. The use of motor assessment protocols is a determinant of evidence-based physical education teachin
