La nascita della Repubblica, il 2 giugno degli italiani in Argentina e USA
If fascism had a “politically demanding” conception of Italianity, this never corre-
sponded to the mostly private, family ties and affective feelings of the emigrated
Italians. This is shown by the study on June 2, 1946, especially through the eth-
nic press in the United States and Argentina, where the importance of charac-
ters such as Torcuato Di Tella and Luigi Antonini emerges. The militant support
for the vote for the Republic is unanimous among the exiles but, in the diaspora,
what moves is above all the collections of funds for Italy destroyed by the war.Se il fascismo aveva una concezione dell’italianità “politicamente impegnativa”,

Influence of Pre-Harvest Factors on the Storage of Fresh Basil (Ocimum basilicum L.): A Review
Thanks to its numerous uses in gastronomy, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics, basil (Ocimum spp.) is one of the most studied and consumed aromatic plants worldwide. However, its commercialization and availability are limited by its short post-harvest shelf-life, primarily due to its strong sensitivity to cold, poor handling, and consequent microbial contamination. This review provides a comprehensive overview of the latest research on pre-harvest techniques that can extend the shelf-life of basil, aiming to offer a practical tool for growers, distributors, retailers, and scientists. In addition to influencing the plant’s primary metabolism, pre-harvest factors, such as genotype selection, plant nutrition, irrigation, and light management, can have a direct impact on basil quality and shelf-life. Unlike previous reviews, which primarily focus on post-harvest strategies, this work provides a structured analysis of pre-harvest factors that directly influence basil’s shelf-life. By integrating recent findings on genotype selection, nutrient management, and environmental conditions, we offer a comprehensive framework to guide future agronomic practices aimed at minimizing post-harvest losses and enhancing product quality

Assessment of Negative Symptoms in Schizophrenia: From the Consensus Conference-Derived Scales to Remote Digital Phenotyping
The assessment of negative symptoms in schizophrenia has advanced since the 2006 NIMH-MATRICS Consensus Statement, leading to the development of second-generation rating scales like the Brief Negative Symptom Scale and the Clinical Assessment Interview for Negative Symptoms. These scales address the limitations of first-generation tools, such as the inclusion of aspects that are not negative symptoms and the lack of assessment of the subject’s internal experience. However, psychometric validation of these scales is still in progress, and they are not yet recommended by regulatory agencies, thus limiting their use in clinical trials and settings. Complementing these traditional methods, remote digital phenotyping offers a novel approach by leveraging smartphones and wearable technology to capture real-time, high-resolution clinical data. Despite the potential to overcome traditional assessment barriers, challenges remain in aligning these digital measures with clinical ratings and ensuring data security. Equally important is patient acceptance, as the success of remote digital phenotyping relies on the willingness of patients to use these technologies. This review provides a critical overview of both second-generation scales and remote digital phenotyping for assessing negative symptoms, highlighting future research needs
The brain extracellular space in chronic kidney disease
The brain extracellular space (ECS) is a highly complex structure between the innumerable and intermingled processes of brain cells (neurons and glial cells). This space represents up to 20 % of total brain volume (excluding the ventricles) and hosts an extracellular matrix of proteoglycans. The regulation of this space is unclear, though it may differ from other organs due to the presence of the blood brain barrier. Changes in the ECS may modify the diffusion timing of volume-dependent neurotransmitters such as dopamine, thus potentially altering most brain activities. Indeed, recently it has been shown that mild cognitive impairment is correlated to a reduction of ECS. Because water and electrolyte homeostasis are tightly regulated by the kidney, it is possible that a reduced kidney filtration may change the brain extracellular space and therefore explain the reduced cognitive functions exhibited during kidney diseases. The present communication explores the regulation of ECS in the presence of kidney diseases, discussing how reduced kidney function might impact on brain structure and function in both mice and humans, and suggests potential mechanisms for this link
Effect of Calcination Temperature on the Photocatalytic Activity of Precipitated ZnO Nanoparticles for the Degradation of Rhodamine B Under Different Light Sources
This research provides valuable insights into the application of ZnO nanoparticles in photocatalytic wastewater treatment. Process optimization was carried out by determining the ratio of the surface area to the energy band gap (S/E) in the photocatalysis rate under different sources of light (UV light, visible light, sunlight). The nanoparticles were synthesized using the precipitation technique, and the calcination process was carried out within a temperature range of 400 to 700 °C. The structural, morphological, and optical properties of materials were investigated using X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), UV-Vis diffuse reflectance (UV-Vis DRS), Raman spectroscopies, and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopies. The study demonstrates that calcination temperature significantly influences the photocatalytic activity of ZnO nanoparticles by altering their size, surface properties, shape, and optical behavior. Optimal decomposition efficiencies of Rhodamine B were achieved at 400 °C, with yields of 24%, 92%, and 91% under visible, UV, and sunlight irradiation, respectively. Additionally, the surface area decreased from 12.556 to 8.445 m2/g, the band gap narrowed slightly from 3.153 to 3.125 eV, and crystal growth increased from 0.223 to 0.506 μm as the calcination temperature rose. The photocatalytic properties of ZnO nanoparticles were assessed to determine their efficiency in decomposing Rhodamine B dye under operational parameters, including pollutant concentration (C0), sample amount, pH level, and reaction time. The sample exhibited the best breakdown rates with C0 = 5 mg/L, solid-to-liquid ratio (S/L) = 50 mg/L, pH = 7, and reaction time = 1 h. Additionally, we combined two oxidation processes, namely H2O2 and photocatalytic oxidation processes, which significantly improved the Rhodamine B removal efficiency, where 100% of RhB was degraded after 60 min and 100 μL of H2O2
