    2024年度徳島大学全学FD推進プログラムの実施報告

    徳島大学では,2002年度から全学FD推進プログラムを通じて,FDの体系化,組織化,日常化を推進してきた。2024年度は,「授業設計ワークショップ」などのワークショップ型のプログラムを対面で実施し,参加者同士の情報交換の機会を提供することができた。オンラインツールを活用した双方向FD「授業について考えるランチセミナー」では,高知大学と香川大学による協働でFDプログラムの開発・運営を行った。「大学教育カンファレンス in 徳島」は昨年度に引き続き対面会場での実施をメインとし,一部のプログラムをオンラインで配信するハイブリッド型で開催したことで,参加者同士の情報交換の機会を作ることができた上に,学外からの参加も多数あり,多様な参加ニーズに応えることができた。本年度実施した各プログラムの概要を記載し,アンケート結果等から窺える成果と今後の課題について考察する。Tokushima University has been promoting the systematization, organization, and routinization of faculty development (FD) through the university-wide FD promotion program since academic year 2002. In academic year 2024, workshop-style programs such as “Class Design Workshop” were held face-to-face. This enabled us to provide an opportunity for participants to exchange information with each other. In addition, the series of online interactive FD seminars, Lunch Seminar on Thinking about Classes, was collaboratively developed and managed in partnership with Kochi University and Kagawa University. Moreover, following the preceding year’s example, “the University Education Conference” was held face-to-face, and some programs were delivered online, so we could create opportunities for participants to exchange information with each other. It is noteworthy that there were many participants from outside the university, and we were able to meet their diverse needs.     A Novel Discrete Chaotic Dynamical System with Intriguing Periodicity and Bifurcation Structure

    We introduce a novel chaotic dynamical system formulated as a second-order difference equation. The model includes one time-delay linear term and one nonlinear term composed of the product of two different time delay terms. As a result, the nonlinear term gives rise to strange periods. The dynamical behaviors of the model are investigated by the Lyapunov spectrum and bifurcation diagram. We found that the model can have a positive Lyapunov exponent. We also found that while the bifurcation diagram has a typical Arnold tongue structure, there are unique shapes that show the progression of overlapping fish-hooks in the synchronization region.journal articl

    The intrarenal renin-angiotensin system has many important pathophysiologic functions in blood pressure regulation and kidney disease development. Angiotensin II is the major bioactive product of the renin-angiotensin system and induces inflammation, renal cell growth, mitogenesis, apoptosis, migration, and differentiation. Furthermore, angiotensin II regulates the gene expression of bioactive substances and activates multiple intracellular signaling pathways that are involved in kidney damages. Activation of the angiotensin II type 1 receptor pathway results in the production of proinflammatory mediators, intracellular formation of reactive oxygen species, cell proliferation, and extracellular matrix synthesis, which in turn facilities kidney injury. Involvement of angiotensinogen in intrarenal renin-angiotensin system activation and development of kidney disease has previously been reported. Moreover, studies have demonstrated that the urinary excretion rated of angiotensinogen provide a specific index of the intrarenal renin-angiotensin system status. Enhanced intrarenal angiotensinogen levels have been observed in experimental models of kidney disease, supporting the concept that angiotensinogen plays an important role in the development and progression of kidney diseases. In this review, we focus on the role of intrarenal renin-angiotensin system activation in the pathophysiology of kidney diseases. Additionally, we explored the potential of urinary angiotensinogen as a novel biomarker of intrarenal renin-angiotensinogen status in pediatric kidney diseases.journal articl

    International Policies in Egyptian Higher Education and the Roles of Japan-Educated Graduates

    This manuscript analyzes the international policies shaping higher education in Egypt, emphasizing their role in fostering global partnerships and academic excellence. Drawing insights from the potential contributions of Egyptian alumni of Tokushima University, the manuscript identifies key fields for academic cooperation, including information technology, medical research, engineering, social science, agricultural science, renewable energy etc. By analyzing Egypt’s strategic approaches and leveraging the expertise of its graduates, the paper provides actionable recommendations for Japan to strengthen bilateral academic ties. These findings underscore the potential for collaborative research, knowledge exchange, and innovation to address shared challenges and drive mutual growth in the global academic arena.本稿は、エジプトの高等教育を形成する国際政策を分析し、それらがグローバルなパートナーシップの促進と学術的卓越性の向上に果たす役割を強調する。徳島大学のエジプト人卒業生の役割に基づき、情報科学、医科学、理工学、社会科学、農学、再生可能エネルギーなどの主要な学術協力分野を特定する。エジプトの戦略的アプローチを分析し、その卒業生の専門知識を活用することで、日本が二国間の学術的連携を強化するための実践的な提言を示す。本研究の結果は、共同研究、知識交換、イノベーションの推進が共通の課題に取り組み、グローバルな学術領域における相互成長を促進する可能性を示唆している。departmental bulletin pape

    気軽に参加できるオンラインFDセミナーの開発とその評価

    本研究は、徳島大学と高知大学が連携して共同開発したオンラインのFDプログラム「授業について考えるランチセミナー(以下、本セミナー)」について、2021年度~2023年度の参加者動向、参加者アンケート及び2022年度の参加者を対象に実施したフォローアップアンケートの結果を分析することで、成果と課題を明らかにするものである。本セミナーは、気軽に参加できることを特徴の1つとし、そのうえで、参加者が新たな気づきを得たり、授業や教育活動の中で活用できるように、事例や具体例を中心に紹介し、参加者の意見を取り入れながら実施している。本研究では、大学間で連携することにより、テーマの幅が広がり、参加者の増加につながったこと、テーマへの関心が高い参加者、複数回参加している参加者ほど、セミナー参加後に教育活動において意識や行動の変化があることが分かった。journal articl

    Reversal-time dynamics of two-dimensional non-autonomous systems

    This study, we discusses the topological type of nonautonomous systems with periodic solutions when the time variable t increases negatively. When linear approximation holds near a fixed point of the Poincaré map, we confirm that the bifurcation points where the fixed point becomes nonhyperbolic are invariant regardless of the time direction however, the stability of the fixed point is changed. Consequently, we show that two-dimensional bifurcation diagrams obtained by the brute-force method give different results for positive and reversal-time variable systems; however, the bifurcation curves are identical. The inverted time variable system is useful for visualizing the completely unstable fixed point, because the repeller can be observed as an attractor. Furthermore, in certain models, chaotic attractors with a wide parameter range exist in reversal time variable systems.journal articl
