    Fundamental study on diamond burnishing process with rotary tool

    立方体形状の工作物の表面仕上げ法として,表面の平滑化,加工硬化ならびに圧縮残留応力の付与を目指したバニシング加工法について検討する.本加工法はフライス加工の要領で,先端に半球形状を有するダイヤモンドチップを高速で回転させながら,対象面上を定力下で摺動させる.本報では,高硬度材の平坦面に本加工法を適用した場合の基礎的な加工特性について,仕上げ面形状の観点から評価した結果を報告する.The effectiveness of a diamond burnishing method with rotating tool, which is proposed by the authors, is investigated. A proposed hybrid-type parallel mechanism with spherical 5-degree-of-freedom range and force control was used as a burnishing machine. A diamond tipped tool, which is rotated by the high-speeed-motor spindle, was used as a burnishing tool. A hardened die steel surface were targeted. The fundamental characteristics of the proposed method were evaluated by the surface profile and appearance of the burnishing mark and metallographic structure of the burnished surface layer, and the advantages of the proposed method were clarified by comparing with the conventional method, which is without the tool rotation.出版者照会後に全文公開金沢大学理工研究域機械工学系journal articl

    Roller burnishing method with sliding effect

    ローラが工作物表面上を転動することで表面性状を向上させるローラバニシング加工において,工作物の回転軸に対しローラの回転軸を傾斜させることにより,工作物表面に転動と摺動の作用を同時に付与する新たなローラバニシング加工法を提案した.本報では工作物表面に作用する摺動作用を理論的に検討するとともに,転動に加え摺動作用を付加することが仕上げ面性状に及ぼす影響を実験的に明らかにした.This paper presents the proposal of a novel roller burnishing method, which achieves rolling and sliding effects simultaneously on the burnishing point to accomplish a finish with superior surface integrity using a commercially available roller burnishing tool. The circumferential surface of the workpiece, which is rotated by the main spindle of the lathe, was targeted. The sliding effect is obtained by changing the rotation axis angle of the burnishing roller with respect to the workpiece. The principal of this method was examined theoretically, and the processing characteristics of the method were evaluated experimentally to compare it with the conventional method. The experiments confirm that the sliding effect can be obtained using the newly developed method, and the superiority of this method was verified by evaluating the surface integrity and appearance of burnished surfaces.出版者照会後に全文公開金沢大学理工研究域機械工学系journal articl
