[EN] The paper proposes the graphic and methodological study of Terraloggia’s castle, located in the hilly area of Pago Veiano, in the province of Benevento. The research, in a first part, consisted in a bibliographical and iconographical analysis of the few local sources, often of popular character, but, for the activities of knowledge of the castle, a series of field surveys were carried out to plan the survey project and to carry out the appropriate investigations on the state of the fortified architecture and the surrounding landscape. It is well known that the territory of Terraloggia was already a fortified feudal estate in the Norman period, with a wall containing a castle, of which some traces and the tower are still visible today. The analysis of archival materials has shown that at the beginning of the 12th century the structure belonged first to the County of Ariano, then to Buonalbergo, and in 1113 it was conquered by the Norman Duke Robert of Altavilla, known as Guiscard. In the 15th century Terraloggia was found abandoned after being partially destroyed by an earthquake in 1349. The process of analysis and knowledge of the castle was carried out by means of SfM UAV survey with the aim of expanding the possible graphic-theoretical information about the structure. Further developments are possible in the field of digitization of the fortified heritage in the creation of 3D models for the increase of the tourism sector in the inland areas of the Campania region. [EN] Adaptation of foundation models using low-rank methods is a widespread approach. Another way to adapt these models is to employ orthogonal fine-tuning methods, which are less time and memory efficient despite their good generalization properties. In this work, we propose Householder Orthogonal Fine-tuning (HOFT), a novel orthogonal fine-tuning method that aims to alleviate time and space complexity. Moreover, some theoretical properties of the orthogonal fine-tuning paradigm are explored. From this exploration, Scaled Householder Orthogonal Fine-tuning (SHOFT) is proposed. Both HOFT and SHOFT are evaluated in downstream tasks, namely commonsense reasoning, machine translation, subject-driven generation and mathematical reasoning.Moreno-Arcas, Alejandro (2025). [EN] Parietaria mottle virus (genus Ilarvirus, family Bromoviridae) is an emerging virus infecting tomato and pepper crops in the Mediterranean basin. PMoV has a segmented single-stranded positive-sense RNA genome encoding two replicase subunits (p1 and p2), the 2b, the movement (MP) and coat (CP) proteins. Mechanisms underlying the disease development are poorly understood in most virus-plant pathosystems. For this purpose, we have investigated the role played by the PMoV CP, MP, and 2b as pathogen determinants in the experimental host Nicotiana benthamiana. Transient expression of the PMoV proteins by using the PVX cDNA viral vector pGR107 showed that all of them enhanced the PVX-induced symptoms in N. benthamiana agroinfiltrated plants, but with different degrees. CP was associated with strong symptoms of systemic necrosis typical of hypersensitive host response (HR), mosaic leaf deformation, and plant stunting. 2b and MP were associated with mild mosaic and leaf deformation. However, movement complementation assays of a viral vector based on turnip crinkle virus sequence expressing GFP (pTCV-GFP) revealed that none of these PMoV proteins could suppress the post-transcriptional gene silencing (PTGS) host defense mechanism. Additional assays of systemic RNA silencing in transgenic N. benthamiana 16c plants expressing the green fluorescent protein (GFP) confirmed that PMoV 2b, unlike other ilarviruses, was not a PTGS suppressor. Results obtained here are discussed and compared with those of other virus-plant pathosystems. We thank Professors Carmen Hernandez and S. Lommel for providing pBIC:dsGFP plasmid and pTCV-GFP cDNA infectious clones, respectively. Also, we thank Dr. J. Aramburu for kindly providing the plant material and the PMoV isolate CR-8.Martínez, C.;López Del Rincón, C.;Pallás Benet, V.;Aparicio Herrero, F.;Galipienso, L. (2025). [EN] Many people in Colombia are forced to leave their country for various reasons, whether political, economic, or social. They seek opportunities abroad that their homeland has not been able to provide, and Spain presents itself as the perfect alternative: they speak the same language, find work easily, and have a similar climate. This academic work aims to create an interactive documentary to show the reality of Colombians who were forced to emigrate to Spain in search of a better future. In particular, it focuses on the Colombian community settled in Torrevieja since the early 2000s. To this end, the concept of an interactive documentary will be analyzed, followed by a brief investigation into the situation in Colombia at that time and the causes of emigration, concluding with a webdoc proposal that culminates in a prototype. [EN] The archaeological campaigns in the theater and other buildings of the Roman Vetus Urbs of Italica in Santiponce (Seville) have led to its association in recent decades with a drawing published in 1726 in the work Remarks on Several Parts of Europe by John Breval. When we ask ourselves about the representational intention of this graphic document, some contradictions arise between its value as an object of information and its capacity to evoke and build an illusion in a collective. This contribution aims to analyze the graphic elements that have animated this analogy and to contrast its degree of veracity through digital resources. Improving nitrate-to-ammonia conversion efficiency on electrodeposited nickel phosphide via surface delta-FeOOH modification

    No full text
[EN] Electrocatalytic nitrate reduction to ammonia is an appealing and promising approach for recovering industry and agricultural wastewater. However, there is a lack of efficient electrocatalysts for NO3- conversion at low overpotentials and a range of nitrate concentrations, which could enable nitrogen recovery from various wastewater streams. Here, we report an affordable and efficient electrodeposited amorphous-Ni3P electrode modified with delta-FeOOH, forming a heterojunction catalyst that efficiently converts nitrate into ammonia. The optimum heterojunction performance achieved a high faradaic efficiency of 98% +/- 0.72 at -0.3 V vs. RHE with an NH3 production yield of 8.49 mg h-1 cm-2, ranking Ni3P/delta-FeOOH among the most active electrocatalysts so far reported for this process. Ni3P/delta-FeOOH showed good stability using ethyl cellulose as a green and fluoride-free binder without losing the superficial modification. Mechanistic studies by in situ Raman spectroscopy show that the role of delta-FeOOH is the stabilisation of the NOx intermediates. At the same time, Ni3P provides *H species available for NOx reduction, thus resulting in highly selective NO3 hydrogenation. In contrast, in the absence of delta-FeOOH, Ni3P exhibits significantly lower NH3 faradaic efficiency due to simultaneous H2 evolution. Therefore, the present results show the synergistic effect between delta-FeOOH and Ni3P in the electrocatalytic nitrate reduction, with delta-FeOOH playing a crucial role in stabilising the reaction intermediates and enhancing the ammonia selectivity. The authors are grateful for the sponsorship and financial support of FAPESP (#2017/11986-5, #2018/01258-5, #2020/11756-2, #2022/15742-1, #2021/12394-0 and # 2013/07296-2), Coordenacao de Aperfeicoamento de Pessoal de Nivel Superior - Brazil (CAPES) - Finance Code 001, Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Cientifico e Tecnologico, CNPq, grant number #152607/2022-6, #311769/2022-5, #405133/2023 and #406156/2022-0, and FINEP-Financiadora de Estudos e Projetos grant number #01.22.0179.00, #01.23.0645.00. About the stability of self-accelerating parameters in vectorial iterative methods without memory

    No full text
[EN] This study is motivated by the need to improve the efficiency of iterative methods for solving nonlinear systems, overcoming some limitations of Newton's method and other classical schemes. Building on the recent work of Singh, Sharma, and Kumar-which introduced a self-accelerating parameter dependent on the last iterate-an in-depth stability analysis of these without memory methods in a vectorial framework is proposed. The main objective is to evaluate how parameters' selection and variation affect the process's convergence and stability using tools from discrete dynamical systems, bifurcation diagrams, and dynamical planes. The results demonstrate that certain members of the family, particularly those with fourth-order convergence, exhibit superior stability properties compared to the initially proposed fifth-order scheme. Additionally, numerical tests on various nonlinear systems confirm the theoretical stability results. The stable methods of these families can be successfully applied on realistic problems such as preliminary orbit determination and on the nonlinear systems resulting from the discretization of Fisher's equation used in population genetics and ecology, convection-diffusion equations appearing in engineering problems, etc.The author(s) disclosed receipt of the following financial support for the research, authorship, and/or publication of this article: This research was financed by Fondo Nacional de Innovacion y Desarrollo Cientifico y Tecnologico (FONDOCYT) of Ministerio de Educacion Superior Ciencia y Tecnologia de la Republica Dominicana (MESCYT), grant number FONDOCYT 2023-1-1D2-0537.Cordero Barbero, Alicia;Maimó, JG.;Rodriguez Cabral, A.;Torregrosa Sánchez, Juan Ramón (2025). Arquitectura, cinema i cinematografia

[EN] Contemporary architecture opts for the predominance of time in that space-time debate that has accompanied us throughout history. This architecture is projected through the sum of scenes that each user encounters when touring the building or open space. Not always the same, not always in the same order or sequence, and their reading and interpretation are not always the same. The user thus becomes an editor of images and scenes and a producer of their reading. If it also links with the current variables of activism, participation that allows people to feel and enjoy experiences, the result is cinematographic. The configuration of time as a project tool implies a certain management or 'manipulation' to break the synchronic logic, seeking the diachrony that shows it, which implies the construction of superimposed layers; a topology of time points out G. Deleuze. Similar to the film montages of Orson Wells in Citizen Kane, The Process, the dystopian flas-backs of the nouvelle vague, or the fragmentary rereading of Fellini's temporality through the paroxysm of Alain Resnais (Last year in Marienbad, Hiroshima mon amour) or Jean Luc Godard, applied in The Great Beauty by Paolo Sorrentino. or Once upon a time, .., Tarantino's Hollywood. The works must find projects treated with the same cinephile keys, where the architect sows the work of scenes that the user personally recomposes as if it were a film, and whose interpretation is personal. They are works with multiple associable films. The works must identify the scenes, describe them, sequence them and show the relationships between them, the possible circuits that guide us to find them and the possible final assembly.
