Predictors of risk of child abuse by fathers towards young adolescents
U radu se ispituje doprinos odabranih prediktora u objašnjavanju rizičnosti za zlostavljanje kod očeva djece mlađe adolescentne dobi. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 378 očeva, prosječne dobi 45 godina (SD = 5,836), dok su djeca u odnosu na koju se procjenjivala rizičnost za zlostavljanje u prosjeku imala 13 godina (SD = 0,756). Kao kriterijska varijabla koristio se Inventar rizičnosti za zlostavljanje djeteta (Child Abuse Potential Inventory; Milner, 1986). Pokazalo se da je 13,4 % očeva prema blažem, odnosno 7,8 % prema strožem kriteriju, rizično za tjelesno zlostavljanje djece. Viša životna dob, niži mjesečni prihodi kućanstva, percipirana lošija kvaliteta partnerskog odnosa, češća primjena psihičke agresije u partnerskom odnosu, veći broj visoko stresnih događaja u posljednje tri godine te veća uznemirenost svakodnevnim stresom povećavaju rizičnost za zlostavljanje djeteta, dok bolje strategije nošenja sa stresom te donekle i veći doživljaj socijalne podrške smanjuju rizičnost. Nalazi su raspravljeni pod vidom izrade programa za osnaživanje pojedinaca i obitelji s djecom koji žive u ekonomskim teškoćama i imaju više sukoba u partnerskim odnosima te promjena u području socijalnih politika koje to mogu olakšati.The paper examines the contribution of selected predictors in explaining the risk of abuse by fathers of children in early adolescence. Risk of abuse was assessed based on a sample including 378 fathers with an average age of 45 years (SD = 5.836), who had children who were on average 13 years old (SD = 0.756). The Child Abuse Potential Inventory (Milner, 1986) was used as a criterion variable. The results show that 13.4% of fathers were at risk of physical child abuse according to the milder criterion, while 7.8% of fathers were at risk according to the stricter criterion. Older age, lower monthly household income, poor perceived quality of partner relationships, more frequent use of psychological aggression in partner relationships, greater number of highly stressful events in the last three years, and greater distress caused by everyday stress can increase the risk of child abuse by fathers. On the other hand, better coping strategies and greater perceived social support, to some extent, can reduce the risk of abuse. The findings are discussed in terms of creating programmes to empower individuals and families with children who live in economic difficulties and those who face increased conflict in partner relationships, as well as fostering changes in social policies that can facilitate this

Development of Computer Science Curriculum
Digitalne kompetencije zauzimaju središnje mjesto u suvremenom obrazovanju zbog sveobuhvatne digitalizacije društva. Nastavni predmet informatika pridonosi razvoju tih kompetencija pripremajući učenike za uspješno snalaženje u digitalnom okruženju. Od uvođenja kurikula informatike u Hrvatskoj 2018. godine, učenici svih obrazovnih razina stječu vještine digitalne pismenosti, računalnog razmišljanja i sigurne uporabe tehnologije. Povijesni razvoj informatike u obrazovanju ukazuje na brojne izazove, poput nedostatka opreme i kvalificiranih nastavnika, ali i na kontinuiran napredak u modernizaciji obrazovnoga sustava. Suvremeni kurikulum informatike usmjeren je na interdisciplinarno učenje i razvoj kompetencija za cjeloživotno obrazovanje, pružajući učenicima priliku da postanu stvaratelji, a ne samo korisnici digitalnih sadržaja.Digital competencies have become essential for lifelong learning in the context of global digitalisation. Computer science education supports the development of these skills by preparing students to navigate and participate effectively in the digital society. Since the introduction of the computer science curriculum in Croatia in 2018, students at all educational levels have been acquiring knowledge related to digital literacy, computational thinking, and the safe use of technology. The historical development of computer science in education reveals challenges such as a lack of equipment and qualified teachers but also continuous progress in the modernisation of the education system. The contemporary computer science curriculum promotes interdisciplinary learning and the development of competencies essential for lifelong learning, empowering students to become creators of digital content rather than mere users

Determination of antioxidant profile of the essential oil and extract samples obtained from lavender (Lavandula angustifolia Miller)
Obična lavanda (Lavandula angustifolia Miller) je niska, višegodišnja grmasta biljka koja raste u zemljama oko zapadnog Mediterana. Potekla je iz sunčanih stjenovitih područja i prvenstveno se uzgaja zbog svojih esencijalnih ulja. Različite studije pokazale su da određene vrste ljekovitih biljaka, kao što je L. angustifolia Miller, koje sadrže linalol i linalil acetat ester, imaju blagi sedativni učinak i koriste se u aromaterapiji i fitoterapiji za ublažavanje stresa. Svrha ove studije je utvrditi antioksidacijsku aktivnost uzoraka obične lavande. Uzorci biljnog materijala prikupljeni su sa sljedećih područja: Gubavica (općina Mostar) i Šehovina (grad Mostar). Pri tome su analizirana četiri uzorka: esencijalno ulje dobiveno hidrodestilacijom biljnog materijala (Gubavica), uzorak maceriran u etil acetatu (Šehovina), prikupljeni vodeni ostatak nakon hidrodestilacije (Gubavica) te komercijalno esencijalno ulje. Određivanje antioksidacijske aktivnosti uzoraka provedeno je s pomoću sljedećih metoda: DPPH, ABTS i FRAP. Hidrodestilirano esencijalno ulje, kao i komercijalno ulje, pokazali su slabiju antioksidacijsku aktivnost, što je potvrđeno svim korištenim metodama. Slabija antioksidacijska aktivnost također je zabilježena u analizi uzorka etil acetata. Praćenjem tijeka reakcije za navedene uzorke nije bilo moguće izračunati IC50 vrijednost. Vodeni ostatak nakon hidrodestilacije pokazao je najvišu antioksidacijsku aktivnost prema svim korištenim metodama, što je potvrđeno IC50 vrijednošću prema DPPH metodi, koja je bila 0,032 ± 0,006 mg/mL, dok je za ABTS metodu IC50 vrijednost bila 0,135 ± 0,003 mg/mL. Također, prema FRAP metodi, vodeni ostatak nakon hidrodestilacije pokazao je najbolju antioksidacijsku aktivnost (1099,45 ± 25,39 mg Evit. C/g ekstrakta). Usporedbom kemijskog sastava i antioksidacijske aktivnosti ispitivanih uzoraka može se zaključiti da su za antioksidacijsko djelovanje odgovorni fenolni spojevi koji su bili sadržani u vodenom ostatku nakon hidrodestilacije esencijalnog ulja, koji je i pokazao najbolju aktivnost, a da spojevi koji čine esencijalno ulje imaju neznatnu učinkovitost kad je u pitanju određivanje antioksidacijskog kapaciteta.Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia Miller) is a low, perennial shrub that grows in countries around the western Mediterranean. It originates from sunny rocky areas and is primarily cultivated for its essential oils. Various studies have shown that certain types of medicinal plants, such as L. angustifolia Miller, containing linalool and linalyl acetate ester, have a mild sedative effect and are used in aromatherapy and phytotherapy to relieve stress. The aim of this study is to determine the antioxidant activity of lavender samples. Samples of plant material were collected from the following areas: Gubavica (municipality of Mostar) and Šehovina (city of Mostar). The following samples were analyzed: the essential oil obtained by hydrodistillation of the plant material (Gubavica), the sample macerated in ethyl acetate (Šehovina), the collected aqueous residue after hydrodistillation, and commercial essential oil. The determination of the antioxidant activity of the samples was carried out using the following methods: DPPH, ABTS, and FRAP. Hydrodistilled essential oil, as well as commercial oil, showed weaker antioxidant activity, which was confirmed by all the methods used. Weaker antioxidant activity was also observed in the analysis of the ethyl acetate sample. By monitoring the reaction progress for the aforementioned samples it was impossible to calculate the IC50 value. The aqueous residue after hydrodistillation showed the highest antioxidant activity according to all methods used, confirmed by the IC50 value according to the DPPH method, which was 0.032 ± 0.006 mg/mL, while for the ABTS method, the IC50 value was 0.135 ± 0.003 mg/mL. Also, according to the FRAP method, the aqueous residue after hydrodistillation exhibited the best antioxidant activity (1099.45 ± 25.39 mg Evit. C/g of the extract). By comparing the chemical composition and antioxidant activity of the tested samples, it can be concluded that the antioxidant effect is due to the phenolic compounds found in the aqueous residue after the hydrodistillation of the essential oil, which exhibited the best activity. In contrast, the compounds that make up the essential oil itself have only minor effectiveness regarding antioxidant capacity
Experimental and numerical investigations of hydrodynamic performance for horizontal-axis hydrokinetic turbines
This paper presents both experimental and numerical investigations of the hydrodynamic performance of Horizontal-axis Hydrokinetic Turbines (HAHTs) using experimental methods and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) approaches, respectively. The innovative aspect of this study lies in the consistency of the results, achieved by aligning the method used in the CFD analyses for Hydrokinetic Turbines (HKTs) and airfoil profiles with experimental data. For this purpose, 2-D CFD analyses were first conducted with blade section geometries (Eppler 395 and S1210), which are commonly used in HKT designs. The aerodynamic characteristics (CL and CL/CD) of these blade sections were computed and compared with the experiments. Subsequently, a three-dimensional (3-D) turbine geometry, featuring three different pitch angles (PAs), was simulated using CFD, and the results were compared with experimental data obtained under the same operating conditions in the Emerson Cavitation Tunnel (ECT) at Newcastle University. The comparisons showed good agreement while the maximum relative error was calculated less than 10 % for the power coefficient (CP) of the turbine with a PA of 0°. For the other PA (8°), the maximum relative error was 11 % for CP and 14 % for the thrust coefficient (CT). The CFD investigations of HKTs revealed that the Detached Eddy Simulation (DES) model has less relative errors compared to the other turbulence models at the same Tip Speed Ratio (TSR) values, while the Sliding Mesh (SM) method describing rotation gives more consistent and closer results to the experiments, with the investigation of y+ point of view
Preliminary results of cross-sectional study of impostor phenomenon among students of the Veterinary Faculty University of Zagreb
Fenomen varalice složeni je psihološki konstrukt pri kojemu osoba koja od njega pati sumnja u vlastite sposobnosti, osjeća se kao varalica, a svoje uspjehe pripisuje šarmu i spletu sretnih okolnosti, a ne i vlastitom trudu i inteligenciji. Ovo je presječno istraživanje provedeno među studentima V. godine (N = 31) Veterinarskog fakulteta Sveučilišta u Zagrebu. Upitnik je sadržavao sociodemografska obilježja i ocjensku ljestvicu fenomena varalice Clance (CIPS). Pritom je fenomen varalice razvrstan na sljedeće kategorije: a) malo obilježja – ukupni broj bodova 40 ili manje, b) umjerena iskustva – 41 do 60 bodova, c) često – 61 do 80 bodova te d) intenzivno – više od 80 bodova. Najveći udio studenata bio je u kategoriji čestog osjećaja (35,48 %; N = 11), nakon čega slijedi kategorija s umjerenim osjećajima (29,03 %, N = 9). Odmah nakon njih nalazi se kategorija s intenzivnim obilježjima (22,58 %; N = 7), dok je najmanje ispitanika u kategoriji u kojoj su osjećaji fenomena varalice mali (12,90 %; N = 4). Prema spolu intenzivniji osjećaj fenomena zabilježen je u studentica. Fenomen varalice neupitno ima veliku javnozdravstvenu i kliničku važnost s obzirom na to da korelira s tjeskobom i depresijom, te je čimbenike rizika nužno odrediti i na institucijskoj i na individualnoj razini. U daljnjim bi istraživanjima trebalo bi utvrditi zaštitne čimbenike kao što su manji akademski zahtjevi, aktivniji društveni život, bolja ravnoteža između slobodnog vremena i obveza te promovirati njihov utjecaj kroz studijske programe uz sustavnu procjenu i praćenje mentalnog zdravlja.The impostor phenomenon is a complex psychological construct in which people doubt their abilities, feel like imposters, and attribute their success to char or a set of circumstances, but not to their own engagement and intelligence. This cross-sectional study was conducted among fifth-year students (N = 31) of the Veterinary
Faculty University of Zagreb. The questionnaire contained sociodemographic characteristics and the Clance Rating Scale of the Impostor Phenomenon (CIPS). The imposter phenomenon is classified into the following categories: a) few characteristics - 40 or less points, b) moderate experiences - 41 to 60 points, c) often - 61 to 80 points, and d) intense features - more than 80 points. The largest proportion of students was in the category of frequent feelings (35.48 %; N = 11), followed by the category with moderate feelings (29.03 %,
N = 9). Immediately thereafter follows the category of intense features (22.58 %; N = 7), while the fewest respondents are in the category in which the feelings of the impostor phenomenon are limited (12.90 %; N = 4). According to gender, a more intense feeling of the phenomenon was recorded among female students. The impostor phenomenon undoubtedly has great public health and clinical significance, given that it correlates with anxiety and depression, and it is necessary to determine the risk factors both at the institutional and individual level. In further studies, protective factors, such as lower academic demands, a more active social life,
a better balance between free time and romantic relationships, should be identified and their impact should be promoted through study programs with systematic assessment and monitoring of mental health
Doprinos inkluzivnog pčelarenja i kvalitete života kod osoba s invaliditetom i osoba starije životne dobi
Persons with disabilities and elderly people represent a particularly vulnerable population that may
experience various difficulties in their physical, psychological, and social functioning. In order to empower them, it is therefore necessary to implement various interdisciplinary therapeutic and rehabilitation programmes. In this context, the role of inclusive beekeeping has recently been considered as a potentially significant activity that can promote various psychophysical and social dimensions of an individual. However, scientific research in this area is still scarce, making it difficult to fully understand the benefits of this approach and to further adapt and expand its accessibility. The objective of this study was to gain insight into the contributions of inclusive beekeeping to different aspects of the quality of life of persons with disabilities and elderly people, as well as to offer suggestions on how to improve this activity and cater to these specific user groups. Based on a qualitative methodology, semi-structured interviews were conducted using a sample of 11 respondents (aged 38 -74 years) with different types of physical disabilities and chronic illnesses. The findings suggest that inclusive beekeeping may have a positive contribution to the quality of life of persons with disabilities and elderly people by improving their physical, emotional, and material well-being, as well as their interpersonal relationships and self-determination. To maximise these benefits, it is important to ensure optimal conditions for the implementation of inclusive beekeeping through various educational programmes, accessibility and assistance services, ergonomic adaptation of equipment, and financial support. These conditions would further reduce the personal and social barriers associated with participating in this activity. In addition, further research is needed to better adapt beekeeping to the specific needs and psychophysical capabilities of persons with disabilities and elderly people.Osobe s invaliditetom i osobe starije životne dobi predstavljaju ranjivu populaciju u kojoj mogu biti prisutne različite teškoće u fizičkom, psihičkom i socijalnom funkcioniranju. Zbog toga je, radi njihova osnaživanja, potrebno provoditi različite interdisciplinarne terapijske i rehabilitacijske programe. U tom se kontekstu, u posljednje vrijeme, sve više razmatra uloga inkluzivnog pčelarenja kao potencijalno značajne aktivnosti koja obuhvaća poticanje različitih psihofizičkih i socijalnih dimenzija u osobe. Međutim, znanstvena su istraživanja u ovom području još uvijek oskudna, što otežava potpuno razumijevanje dobrobiti ovog pristupa te njegovu daljnju prilagodbu i dostupnost. U tom smislu definiran je cilj ovog istraživanja koji se odnosio na dobivanje uvida u doprinose inkluzivnog pčelarenja na različite aspekte kvalitete života osoba s invaliditetom i osoba starije životne dobi te prijedloge za unapređenje ove aktivnosti kod navedenih specifičnih grupa korisnika. U svrhu provedbe istraživanja primijenjena je kvalitativna metodologija uz polustrukturirane intervjue na uzorku od 11 ispitanika u dobi od 38 do 74 godina, s različitim vrstama motoričkih poremećaja i kroničnih bolesti. Rezultati istraživanja ukazuju da inkluzivno pčelarenje može pozitivno doprinijeti kvaliteti života osobama s invaliditetom i osobama starije životne dobi poboljšavajući njihovo fizičko, emocionalno i materijalno blagostanje, kao i međuljudske odnose i samoodređenje. Kako bi se ove prednosti maksimalno iskoristile, važno je osigurati što bolje uvjete za provedbu inkluzivnog pčelarenja kroz različite edukacije, osiguranje pristupačnosti i asistencije, ergonomsku prilagodbu opreme,te financijsku potporu čime bi se dodatno smanjile osobne i socijalne prepreke za uključivanje u ovu aktivnost. Također, nužno je provoditi daljnja istraživanja kako bi se poboljšala prilagodba inkluzivnog pčelarenja u odnosu na specifične potrebe i psihofizičke mogućnosti osoba s invaliditetom i osoba starije životne dobi
CONCEPT OF HYDROPOWER POTENTIAL OF THE BEDNJA RIVER AT THE LOCATION LOVRENTOVEC, CROATIA
Svrha rada je procjena hidroenergetskog potencijala rijeke Bednje za izgradnju hidroelektrana koristeći turbine koje koriste potencijalnu energiju vode i one koje iskorištavaju kinetičku energiju vodotoka. Analizira se lokacija u blizini Lovrentovca, tj. konkretno kod mosta preko rijeke Bednje. Hidroelektrane se svrstavaju u obnovljive izvore energije i stoga nemaju negativan utjecaj na okoliš u usporedbi s fosilnim gorivima. Male hidroelektrane mogu uvelike doprinijeti razvoju ruralnih područja i time poboljšati kvalitetu života u takvim regijama. Na temelju poznatih podataka na promatranoj lokaciji i terenskih mjerenja, proračunava se izlazna snaga hidroelektrana, ovisno o tome radi li se o potencijalnoj energiji ili kinetičkoj energiji vodotoka. Rijeka Bednja je jedna od rijeka na kojoj je moguće izgraditi postrojenje koje bi moglo koristiti snagu vode za proizvodnju električne energije za obližnja naselja u Varaždinskoj županiji. Uz izmjerene podatke dobivene terenskim istraživanjem i korištenjem odgovarajućih mjernih uređaja, ovaj rad također sadrži podatke vezane uz susjedne hidrološke mjerne postaje Ključ i Tuhovec. Sa svim dobivenim podacima i izračunatim izlaznim snagama mogu se usporediti rezultati i na taj način može se procijeniti stvarni potencijal rijeke Bednje.The purpose of the paper is to assess the hydropower potential of the Bednja River for the construction of hydroelectric power plants using turbines that use the potential energy of water and those that exploit the kinetic energy of the watercourse. The location near Lovrentovec, specifically at the bridge over the Bednja River, is analyzed. Hydropower plants are classified as renewable energy sources and therefore do not have a negative impact on the environment compared to fossil fuels. Small hydropower plants can greatly contribute to the development of rural areas and thus improve the quality of life in such regions. Based on known data at the observed location and field measurements, the output power of hydroelectric power plants is calculated, depending on whether it is potential energy or kinetic energy of the watercourse. The Bednja River is one of the rivers on which it is possible to build a plant that could use the power of water to produce electricity for nearby settlements in Varaždin County. In addition to the measured data obtained through field research and the use of appropriate measuring devices, this paper also contains data related to the neighboring hydrological measuring stations Ključ and Tuhovec. With all the data obtained and the output power calculated, the results can be compared and thus the real potential of the Bednja River can be estimated
