Empirical Assessment of Wind Power’s Capacity Credit: A European Case Study
This paper presents an empirical analysis of the intrinsic capacity credit of onshore wind power across twelve European countries, based on hourly measured data for 2019 and 2024. Capacity credit was calculated as a function of acceptable default risk, under the simplifying assumption that wind power alone must satisfy total demand, serving as a limiting-case benchmark for adequacy assessment. The results show a wide range of outcomes across individual countries and highlight the effects of spatial aggregation, where the combined regional system performs better than its constituents. A nonlinear model was fitted to describe the relationship between capacity credit and risk probability. Additionally, several hypothetical spatial distributions of installed capacity were evaluated using statis-tical criteria, illustrating how coordination could affect adequacy outcomes. The analysis was based exclusively on observed data, without additional modeling assumptions, and the proposed method offers a transparent, generalizable framework for empirical adequacy benchmarking across generation types and planning contexts
Impact of clinical pharmacist counselling at discharge on adherence to oral antibiotics: A pilot study
Antibiotic resistance is a growing global health threat, with patient non-adherence to prescribed antibiotic regimens representing an important contributing factor. This prospective interventional study investigated the impact of clinical pharmacist counselling at hospital discharge on adherence to oral antibiotic therapy. The study was conducted at the Department of Nephrology and Endocrinology, General Hospital “Dr. Tomislav Bardek”, Koprivnica, between March 2022 and July 2025. A total of 98 participants aged ≥18 years who were prescribed oral antibiotics at discharge were randomised into intervention (counselling) and non-intervention groups. Baseline socio-demographic and clinical data were collected, and adherence was assessed following treatment completion using a structured questionnaire developed by the authors. Of the 98 participants, 94 were included in the final analysis. Non-adherence was significantly lower in the intervention group, compared to the non-intervention group (2.1 % vs. 36.2 %, p < 0.001). Urinary tract infections represented the most common indication for antibiotic therapy, with ciprofloxacin and amoxicillin-clavulanic acid being the most frequently prescribed medicines. This study demonstrates that pharmacist-led discharge counselling markedly improves adherence to short-term antibiotic therapy. These findings provide preliminary evidence supporting integration of clinical pharmacists into hospital discharge processes to promote rational antibiotic use and combat antimicrobial resistance
Offloading of mobile – cloud computing based on Lion Optimization Algorithm (LOA)
Many problems and limitations appeared with the spread of mobile cloud computing (MCC) technology, due to the battery life of the mobile, limited resources, storage space and processors. In addition, the biggest challenge is to make decisions about executing tasks between local devices and cloud servers (edge) to save energy and reduce delay time by reducing the energy consumption (or cost) of the system concerned. In this paper, an optimization method based on the Lion Optimization Algorithm (LOA) is proposed for task- offloading of mobile cloud computing. Task- offloading is the transfer of tasks from mobile devices to servers that handle high-level computational operations, such as cloud servers or Mobile-Edge Computing (MEC) servers, to reduce task execution time and energy consumption. The proposed algorithm has a high performance in reducing the cost for offloading tasks. This method can be used to improve the performance of 5G, 6G and later mobile technologies to implement applications that require a large amount of computing, also, multi-objectives could be applied for more cost reduction. The results showed that the proposed algorithm LOA is better than other traditional algorithms such as the genetic algorithm in terms of calculating the costs to find the best solutions
Priča o dvije inflacije u Hrvatskoj: uloga domaćih i inozemnih šokova
Do razdvajanja dolazi tijekom pandemije i u vrlo recentnom periodu unazad dvije godine.
Pulicaria odora Ethanolic Extract as a Corrosion Inhibitor and Its Eco-friendly Synthesis of CuO Nanoparticles for Photocatalytic and Microbial Properties
This work examines the effect of Pulicaria odora leaf extract effect as a green inhibitor on SS308 steel corrosion in a 1 mol L–1 hydrochloric acid solution. The electrochemical results reveal that inhibitory efficiency increases with the concentration of Pulicaria odora leaf extract, reaching a maximum inhibition rate of 94.6 % at 500 ppm. Potentiodynamic polarization curves suggest that the plant extract acts as an anodic-type inhibitor. The polarization and electrochemical impedance findings are in good agreement. Adsorption of the inhibitor on the steel surface is spontaneous and follows the Langmuir isotherm. Furthermore, a copper-based catalyst synthesized using Pulicaria odora extract produced a good yield, and this catalyst showed effective photodegradation of methylene blue. The CuO nanoparticles (NPs) synthesized from Pulicaria odora extract showed significant antimicrobial activity against the tested bacterial strains.

Cyber seksualno uznemiravanje i nasilje
Rizični faktori počinjenja CSH-a uključuju nižu razinu socijalne podrške i roditeljskog nadzora, više razine ljutnje, izloženost pornografskom materijalu i počinjenje seksualnog uznemiravanja uživo.
