Entanglement conditions for mixed SU(2) and SU(1,1) systems

    No full text
We derive a class of inequalities for detecting entanglement in the mixed SU(2) and SU(1, 1) systems based on the Schrodinger-Robertson indeterminacy relations in conjugation with the partial transposition. These inequalities are in general stronger than those based on the usual Heisenberg uncertainty relations for detecting entanglement. Furthermore, based on the complete reduction from SU(2) and SU(1,1) systems to bosonic systems, we derive some entanglement conditions for two-mode systems. We also use the partial reduction to obtain some inequalities in the mixed SU(2) (or SU(1, 1)) and bosonic systems

Entanglement dynamics and chaos in the Dicke model

    No full text
We study dynamical properties of quantum entanglement in the Dicke model with and without the rotating-wave approximation. Specifically, we investigate the maximal entanglement and mean entanglement which reflect the underlying chaos in the system, and a good classical-quantum correspondence is found. We also show that the maximal linear entropy can be more sensitive to chaos than the mean linear entropy.NSFC 10405019 90503003 NFRPC 2006CB921206 Doctoral Program of Higher Education (SRFDP) 2005033508

Photoluminescence character of Xe ion irradiated sapphire

    No full text
In the present work the photoluminescence (PL) character of sapphire implanted with 180 keV Xe and irradiated with 308 MeV Xe ions was studied. The virgin, implanted and irradiated samples were investigated by PL and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra measurements. The obtained PL spectra showed the maximum emission bands at 2.75, 3.0 and 3.26 eV for the implanted fluence of 1.0 x 10(15) ions/cm(2) and at 2.4 and 3.47 eV for the irradiated fluence of 1.0 x 10(13) ions/cm(2). The FTIR spectra showed a broaden absorption band between 460 and 630 cm(-1), indicating that strong damaged region formed in Al2O3

Modification of ZnO films under high energy Xe-ion irradiations

    No full text
ZnO films were deposited on (100) Si substrate by radio frequency magnetron sputtering. These films were irradiated at room temperature with 308 MeV Xe-ions to a fluence of 1.0 x 10(12), 1.0 x 10(13) or 1.0 x 10(14) Xe/cm(2). Then the samples were investigated using RBS, XRD, FESEM and PL analyses. The obtained experimental results showed that the deposited ZnO films were highly c-axis orientated and of high purity, 308 MeV Xe-ion irradiations could not change the c-axis oriented. The topography and PL properties of the ZnO films varied with increasing the Xe-ion irradiation fluence. For 1.0 x 10(13) or 1.0 x 10(14) Xe/cm(2) irradiated samples, surface cracks were observed. Furthermore, it was found that the 1.0 x 10(14) Xe/cm(2) irradiated sample exhibiting the strongest PL ability. The modification of structure and PL properties induced by 308 MeV Xe-ion irradiations were briefly discussed. (C) 2008 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved

Photoionization of 1s electron and corresponding shake-up process in ground and excited lithium atoms

    No full text
The cross sections of the 18 electron photoionization and corresponding shake-up processes for Li atoms in the ground state 1s(2)2s and excited states 1s(2)2p, 1s(2)3p, 1s(2)3p and 1s(2)3d are calculated using the multi-configuration Dirac-Fock method. The latest experimental photoelectron spectrum at hv = 100 eV [Cubaynes D et al. Phys. Rev. Lett. 99 (2007) 213004] has been reproduced by the present theoretical investigation excellently. The relative intensity of the shake-up satellites shows that the effects of correlation and relaxation become more important for the higher excited states of the lithium atom, which are explained very well by the spatial overlap of the initial and final state wavefunctions. In addition, strong dependence of the cross section on the atomic orbitals of the valence electrons are found, especially near the threshold.National Natural Science Foundation of China 10434100 10774122 International Cooperation Programme of Science and Technology of China CI-2004-07 Higher Education of China 20070736001 Northwest Normal University NWNU-KJCXGC-03-2

Emission characteristics of three final continuum electrons produced in low-energy double ionization of helium

    No full text
The double ionization of helium by electron impact for 106 eV incident energy was studied in a kinematically complete experiment by using a reaction microscope. The pattern of the angular correlation of the three emitted electrons was analyzed by selecting different values of the recoil ion longitudinal momentum. The Wannier predicted geometry appears when the recoil ion carries the full initial projectile momentum. It was found that at this low impact energy, the outgoing electrons still remember the initial-state collision information

Kinetic energy and charge state effects in the X-ray emission of Mo surface induced by Xeq+ (q=25, 29) ions

    No full text
L-shell X-ray spectra of Mo surface induced by Xe25+ and Xe29+ were measured. The X-ray intensity was obtained in the kinetic energy range of the incident ions from 350 to 600 keV. The relationship of X-ray intensity with kinetic energy of the projectile and its charge state were studied, and the simple explanation was given
