Bīstamo atkritumu ekonomiskās ietekmes novērtēšanas sistēma
Bīstamo atkritumu kaitīgā ietekmes uz Latvijas ekonomiku pakāpe nav proporcionāla to īpatsvaram kopējā radītā atkritumu apjomā un pagaidu uzglabāšanas rezultātā ietekmes mērogs var palielināties, radot papildus draudus apkārtējai videi un cilvēku veselībai. Ar bīstamo atkritumu ekonomisko ietekmi jāsaprot ne tikai kaitējumu, bet arī labumu, kuru iespējams iegūt ekoloģiski-ekonomiski efektīvās bīstamo atkritumu apsaimniekošanas rezultātā. Veicot ekonomiskās ietekmes novērtēšanu ir iespējams labāk strukturēt bīstamo atkritumu apsaimniekošanas sistēmas tehniskās un ekonomiskās plānošanas procesus. Bīstamo atkritumu ekonomiskās ietekmes novērtēšana ir nepieciešama ne tikai optimālo tehnisko risinājumu izvēlei, bet arī apsaimniekošanas sistēmas atbilstības finanšu un ekonomiskajām iespējām valstī nodrošināšanai, ES grantu piesaistīšanai. Galvenie bīstamo atkritumu ekonomiskās ietekmes novērtēšanas elementi ir laiks un bīstamības vienības cena. Ar to palīdzību iespējams identificēt un kontrolēt galveno ietekmes novērtēšanas sistēmas indikatoru – eko-efektivitati, kura izvērtējumu veic saskaņā ar četriem kritērijiem:1) ietekme uz sabiedrības labklājības līmeni; 2) ietekme uz valsts budžetu; 3) ietekme uz starpnozaru politiku; 4) ietekme uz Nacionālā stratēģiskā ietvardokumentā (NSID) noteikto valsts prioritāro programmu ieviešanu, valsts attīstības stratēģijas realizēšanu

Modeling of Collaboration among E-Learning User Communities and Tagging Services
E-learning resources are developed by people having very different agendas and they need
common meta-information framework to enable finding them across organizations. This paper focuses on
collaboration among servers containing E-learning resources in different educational institutions for providing
sharing and reusing of E-learning materials. Research problem is how to investigate collaborating servers,
called tagging services, as a self-evolving infrastructure, which would allow sharing and reusing the Elearning
materials in different user communities.
The goal of the paper is to model a cluster of tagging services, storing E-learning materials or knowledge
items such as bookmarks or index-cards and promote sharing and reusing of them. This paper considers a case
when each service is situated separately – in different educational institutions, so each service is used by
certain user community. E-learning materials put in system are marked with appropriate tags. Tags are taken
from either an open or a closed vocabulary. In order to improve user experience and consistency, the tagging
service offers a user a list of suggested tags, and to improve quality of suggestions, it also broadcasts request
to other similar tagging services.
The research idea is to use an algorithm based on self-learning SVM (Support Vector Machine) and graph
theory for tagging service collaboration. Users should retain freedom to classify E-learning materials as they
see fit, but they may benefit of being nudged in the right direction, e.g. given prompts about possible
annotations and warned about mistakes or misspellings. Model has been tested short range in real
environment
Medical Object 3D Modelling Using B-spline Surface
3D visualization of a medical object is an important and
actual task in medical engineering. At the same time, the input data for this task
often is described in 2D layer form (for example, medical images acquired with
Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Computer Tomography, etc). In this case, the
most important part of the complex visualization task is the 3D modelling of a
medical object. One approach, based on Bezier surfaces is described in [1].
This approach uses local surface interpolation and produces a mathematical
model based on the set of Bezier surfaces as a result. In this work, the approach
of using only one B-spline surface for 3D modelling is described. This
approach is based on the global surface interpolation method
Knowledge Bases for Arterial Hypertension Strategy Selection: Development and Estimation
The paper deals with the building of knowledge basis on the existing knowledge amount in a given domain. In our case we operate with new European Hypertension Guidelines, 2003.
There are developed two knowledge basis containing one and the same knowledge amount applying different representation techniques, i.e., rules and frames. Those knowledge bases are the central element of the two datorized systems for carrying out decision making on health care strategy of arterial hypertension patients. It makes possible the comparison and estimation of two knowledge basis and datorized systems on the whole.

Eksperimentāli izpētīts hologrāfiskais ieraksts ar zaļo 532 nm lāzeru piecu tipu stiklveida azosavienojumos. Izmantota refleksijas un transmisijas ģeometrija.Daži mērījumi veikti arī ar sarkano 633 nm lāzeru. Konstatēts, ka efektīvāks ir ieraksts ar 633 nm lāzeru tramnsmisijas ģeometrijā, ja tas ir iespējams. Tomēr lielākoties iespējams ir tikai 532 nm ieraksts refleksijas ģeometrijā, jo 532 nm gaismas absorbcija ir liela. Paredzēti arī atomspēka mikroskopijas pētījumi

Pattern Approach to Business-to-Business Transactions
The purpose of this research is to present issues and capture solutions in business-to-business (B2B) transactions by a pattern approach. Using empirical data, we examine the processes involved in the B2B transactions and capture valuable solutions and best practices. The goal is to support the organizations in the B2B environment with an approach to improving their business practices as well as with a set of existing patterns. On the macro level the pattern language for B2B transactions addresses standards and structure in the operation, communication and collaboration of the B2B environment
Microhardness and Related Structural Properties of the Modified Polyolefin Composites
In general, polymer blends are most often developed in order to raise toughness of conventional polymers and to overcome processing difficulties of certain polymers. These enhancements however, can be obtained providing good compatibility between blend components by purposeful selection of the blend components, compatibilization or modification in the case of necessity and choosing the most appropriate processing regimes. In order to satisfy the demands of new technologies there is growing incentive of using new polymer grades with more regular structure and better predictable and reproductable macromolecular characteristics for developing of polymer-polymer composites. Thus new polypropylene (PP) grades with optimized crystallization behaviour and metallocene ethylene copolymers with stable easy controllable structure and narrow molecular weight distribution and high co-monomer arrangement regularity are perspective candidates for building of new polymer-polymer composites. Besides it, due to structural affinity of PP with ethylene polymers no major technical problems for the compatibility development between the components are expected. Development of polymer blends with stable commercially attractive exploitation properties, however, is highly dependant also on the proper choice of technological processing conditions, considering thermo-oxidative stability, rheological characteristics and crystallization specifics of the blend components. If these tasks are successfully solved developed polyolefin composites potentially can be widely used in different branches of national economy, including building, automotive, consumer a.o. sectors
