Metodes un materiāli: intervijas ar pašvaldības darbiniekiem, respondentu anketēšana; teritorijas plānojuma analīze un Olborgas konvencijas kritēriju interpretācija

Comparative Study of Steady-State Performance of LED Drivers at Different Modulation Techniques

    No full text
The paper deals with current and light regulators for luminaries with Light Emitting Diodes. Several topologies of the regulators with typical control formula (buck, boost and buck-boost) and several control methods (pulse-width and frequency modulation) are analyzed from the point of view of their control performance. Special attention is paid to the non-linearity of the proposed solutions and their accuracy in practically available control platforms. The control solutions are analyzed analytically and through simulations as well as confirmed experimentally. The conclusions about the most prospective solution are made

Scattering by a Layered Circular Cylindrical Post in a Rectangular Waveguide

    No full text
In this paper we consider the problem of the dominant mode scattering by a layered circular cylindrical post in a rectangular waveguide. Both waveguide filter synthesis procedures and measurements of complex dielectric permittivity of materials require a solution to the inverse scattering problem. Since the computation time of an algorithm for solving the inverse scattering problem depends directly upon computation time of an algorithm for the forward scattering problem, our goal is to find an approach that provides both sufficient accuracy of results and rapid convergence. Over the last several decades, a number of approaches have appeared proposed by various authors for solving problems of scattering by a cylindrical post in a rectangular waveguide. The approach presented in this paper is a modified version of one of those approaches that provides sufficiently rapid convergence and results with a reasonable degree of accuracy. This modification allows a solution to the problem of scattering by a layered post. The approach divides the waveguide into separate regions by introducing imaginary cylindrical surface. In the outer regions the electromagnetic field is represented in terms of infinite series of rectangular waveguide modes. In the central region as well as in the layers of post, the field is represented in terms of cylindrical waves. By applying the point-matching method at the imaginary cylindrical surface and truncation of infinite series, a system of linear algebraic equations is obtained

Optimization of Algorithms for Processing Flight Information in Flight Test Stage of Aerospace Objects

    No full text
A specific feature of aircraft and spacecraft flight modes is related to difficulties of obtaining information about dynamic characteristics of vehicles and their onboard equipment. The reason is that any transients are undesirable from the flight safety point of view and consequently they are damped by special onboard devices. At the same time, there is a practical necessity of obtaining such information as it is necessary for indication of occurrence of emergency situations in flight conditions. This information can be derived by solving systems of equations formed from the results of signal measurement. But, because of weak dynamism, the equation systems, as a rule, are ill-conditioned and traditional algorithms cannot be used. Therefore, the problem of their optimization is particularly important in conditions of deficiency of dynamism in the flight information. The possibility of using new information technologies for signal processing at the aircraft flight test stage is investigated. Since there are restrictions imposed on flight modes, the identification of parameters of aircraft and its equipment is carried out in the conditions of bad observability of the dynamic characteristics. It complicates the problem of ensuring the usability of computing algorithms for solving the systems of equations formed from the results of measurements of flight parameters. Therefore, the possibility of application of new information technologies for creation of algorithms with parallel structure is investigated. It will allow applying parallel computers and increasing the speed of information processing. The new information technologies are offered to be realized on the basis of symbolical combinatory computing models

Valuation of the Swedish Direct Investment Territorial Allocation in the Context of Latvian Commercial Property Development

    No full text
The analysis of the neighboring countries economical activities is indispensable input into the economic recovery process. The Baltic States regions territory has incontestably attractive economical political location. However, the biggest part of the neighboring countries investments flow is distributed to other partner territories. The research object is the Swedish direct investments flow. Historically, the Swedish capital had a noticeable impact on the Latvian national economy: trade, manufacture, services and education. Nevertheless, a share of the Swedish capital in the total fixed-capital assets of the Latvian companies as well as the targeted economy branch choice in the latest decade period has fluctuation tendency. The primary focus is to specify the fundamental range of influence on the models the territorial sustainable economic development. The research goal is the analysis of the territorial particularities and characteristics. The investigation comprises such territory developments aspects as capacity of the vacant land, attitude between urbanization and manufacturing capacity’s allocation, inland resources and its potential, history of the country’s economically political collaboration. The current scientific article contains a study of the leading branches of the Swedish business inland and attraction and use of the resources from the partner countries. The authors study results on the European climate change until 2035 gained from the ENSEMBLES projects results data are used to formulate conceptualization of the Swedish partner model on the territorial sustainable development. According to one of the conclusions, the overseas foreign direct investments share is dominated over the Swedish land partner countries share in the companies’ fixed-capital assets. The similar tendency characterizes the Latvian state territory’s economic policy, which might not be expedient. The carried research is a part of the investigation on the models of the Latvian powerful neighbor countries investments allocation. The results will be applied for the Latvian territory’s economic planning model

    Architecture of Latvian Exhibition Pavilions

    No full text
The aim of the article is to recognise the value and architectural qualities of the Latvian temporary cultural structures, i.e. exhibition pavilions. Analysing the most significant events and experience in exhibition architecture, the prevailing stylistic features and patterns of development have been established in the pavilion architecture of the 20th century. Five major stylistic directions have been defined the influence of which is also reflected in the architecture of the pavilions built in the 21st centur

    Evolutionary Computation Design

    No full text
The evolutionary computation design and the experiment with the plug-in Genr(8) of the three-dimensional modelling software Maya have been evaluated in this article. During the author’s experiments, the plug-in Genr(8) has been mastered to find out the possibilities for morphogenesis, “growing” digital evolutionary algorithms. Also the genetic growth has been researched, finding a suitable conceptual spatial architectural configuration between two surfaces. The base for design has been an in-depth testing of various evolutionary units, until a satisfactory and suitable result reflects in architectural qualities. This experiment has proven that the evolutionary computation has a major potential in creating novel, computer generated forms
