Influence of impact munition on police units engagement costs
The paper offers a comparative analysisof alternatives in performing police operations, which differ from each other iby the desision to implement impact munitions or not. The criteria used for the evaluation of the alternatives validity are the basic economic indices: effectiveness, cost, efficiency, time minimisation and reliability in achieving the optimisation. With the method of the analytic hierarchy process (AHP), the options of police operations are compared separately by the stated criteria. It was concluded that the alternative which anticipates the use of impact munitions during the police operations proved to be economically more vali
Association study of common genetic variants in regions 7q36, 8q24 and 17q12 with prostate cancer
Standardni dijagnostički i prognostički parametri KPsu serumska vrednost prostata specifičnog antigena (PSA), Glison gradus sistem (GGS),i klinički stadijum KP. Rezultati naše studije pokazali su asocijaciju genetičkih varijanti rs3760511 (region 17q12) i rs3198266 (region 7q36) sarizikom za progresiju KP...Prostate cancer (PCa) is the second most frequently diagnosed malignant tumor, and thesixth leading cause of cancer-related deaths among men worldwide. Standard diagnosticand prognostic parameters are serum PSA level, Gleason gradus score, and the clinicalstage of PCa. Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have identified over 30 singlenucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with human PCa. Genetic variants haveemerged as potential genetic markers that could be used along with standard prognosticparameters in PCa diagnostics and outcome prediction. This study aimed to evaluate possible association between genotypes and allelesof genetic variants at 7q36 (rs1799983, rs2070744, NOS3 -764A>G, NOS3 -714G>T,rs3918226, and NOS3 -649G>A), 8q24 (rs1447295, rs4242382, rs6983267, rs7017300,rs7837688) and 17q12 (rs3760511, rs7501939) with PCa risk and progression.150 patients with PCa, 150 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH),and 100 men without clinical signs of prostate diseases (control group) were recruited asstudy participants. The genotyping was performed by using PCR-RFLP analysis and bidirectionalDNA sequencing. Our study has shown association for all five analized variants in the region 8q24(rs1447295, rs4242382, rs6983267, rs7017300 and rs7837688) and rs7501939 in the17q12 region with the risk of PCa. Among 13 variants analyzed in our study, two(rs3760511 at 17q12 and rs1799983 at 7q36) have shown evidence of association withstandard prognostic parameters of PCa. Our study yielded evidence of association ofrs3760511 (17q12) and rs3198266 (7q36) with the risk of PCa progression. The results of our study have shown the scientific racionale for conducting casecontrolstudies in Serbian population. The primal contribution of continuing reasearch regarding association between genetic variants and PCa risk and progression is indefining the minimal panel of single nuclotide variants which would be used as nonstandardprognostic parameters in PCa diagnostics and outcome prediction
Nemački okupacioni sistem u Srbiji 1941. godine - vojni aspekti
The largest part of the German troops deployed in Serbia in 1941 was underclass both as regards the availability of personnel and weapons, as well as the training. German infantry divisions in Yugoslavia until the beginning of 1943 were well below average, either in quantity and quality. While the normal German infantry divisions had three infantry regiments of three battalions, the divisions in Yugoslavia had two regiments of three battalions. Moreover, the average number of a normal infantry battalion was 500 to 600 people, and the reserve about 200 people. On the other hand, weapons of the reserve battalion were not much worse than that of a regular battalion. This difference was noticeable only at the level of people and divisions. While during the first years of the war the regimental artillery in the reserve division consisted mainly of sequestered 37 mm Pito infantry guns and old mortars, the regular regimental artillery had weapons of caliber 75 mm and stronger. The divisional artillery had at least 54 Howitzers 105 and 150 mm, and over 70 antitank guns (by the end of 1941, there were cannons, first 50 mm and soon 75 mm), whereas the unmanned division had 12 to 18 guns and howitzers (mainly highland) caliber 75 and 100 mm and about twenty antitank guns caliber 37 mm (just before the end of the war there emerged stronger and antitank guns). Germans had very few motor vehicles during the entire war in Yugoslavia. By the end of the war, the bulk of their artillery was horse-drawn and only the special pursuit unit was given one or two batteries with motor traction. Until mid-1943, the German troops in Serbia were filled with personnel of older ages of which the largest portion had not served as regular staff. Almost all the officers, except the commanders of regiments and divisions (and some specialists in headquarters) were reserve officers, mostly Austrians. There were a lot of ethnic Germans from Yugoslavia (Volksdeutsche) and some units consisted exclusively of them. It should be taken into account that there were not any Germans in many of the 'German' units, apart from the officer corps. Before finishing operations, the only really elite unit in Serbia was the first Mountain Division; all other units that came from Greece or France were below average. Among the German units used in Serbia until the fall of 1944, the ones that could be noted for their quality were the 7th SS Prinz Eugen Division and various units designed for special anti-guerrilla operations. S druge strane, naoružanje posadnih bataljona nije bilo mnogo gore nego regularnih bataljona.

Modelling of negotiating communication regarding abduction
The subject of this work is the model of police negotiation during abductions. The model is formulated by analyzing nine key issues of police negotiation during abductions, such as: making the initial contact of the negotiator and the abductor, conducting the negotiation, active listening skills, negotiating depending on the number of abductors, negotiating tactics, the mediator in negotiation, particular difficulties during the negotiation, mistakes during negotiation and progress indicators during the negotiation. Each chapter of this paper is dedicated to every issue.Macedonia and the Balkans, a hundred years after the World War I : security and euro-atlantic integrations. Outage probability analysis in shadowed fading channel with multiple cochannel interferencesac
In wireless communication systems received signal may suffer from the both multipath fading (fading) and shadowing. In this paper, ascertaining on the suitability of the Weibull distribution to model fading channel and by utilizing the fact that the gamma distribution is more convenient for manipulation than the lognormal distribution, shadowed fading channel is modeled as the Weibull-gamma. The closed-form expressions for the probability density function (PDF) and cumulative distribution function (CDF) of the received signal are derived in terms of Bessel's and Meijer's G-functions, respectively. The synergy between the Weibull-gamma and the Weibull-lognormal model is explored and established by calculating the outage probability (Pout) and average bit error probability (ABEP). This is followed by the analysis carried out for the both fixed and random number of gamma shadowed Nakagami-m cochannel interferences (CCIs) in interference-plus-noise and interference-limited environment. The proposed mathematical analysis is complimented by various numerical results
Pedestrian Behavior at Signalized Pedestrian Crossings
The objective of this research was to define eventual differences in models of pedestrian behavior at signalized pedestrian crossings, with and without countdown displays. The outcomes of this work represent a contribution to the harmonization of positions on the effect of a countdown display on pedestrian behavior. Video recordings at two completely similar pedestrian crossings enabled the collection of pedestrian behavior data (crossing at the red light), which included different categories (gender, age, individual/group, and "slow" pedestrians), collected in different conditions (during certain red light intervals and traffic volume). The results of the research showed that a statistically significant larger number of pedestrian offenders occurred at pedestrian crossings without countdown displays rather than at crossings with countdown displays. The presence of a countdown display significantly reduced the number of women offenders in particular. The number of offenders in the first and last four seconds of the pedestrian red light at the pedestrian crossing with a countdown display, differed, in terms of statistical significance, from the number of offenders at the crossing without a countdown display. The countdown display had a positive influence on pedestrians older than 40 years of age, as well as on slow pedestrians
Kernel Sets in Compass Edge Detection
Edge detection is an important operation in the analysis of a digital image and includes a set of mathematical methods to identify points of discontinuity. For this purpose, different algorithms are used for estimating image gradient. Many edge detection techniques are implemented with convolution mask and based on discrete approximations to differential operators. Differential operations measure the rate of change in the image brightness function. The compass approach implies taking a single mask and rotating it to major compass orientations. Using a suitable programming environment, this paper provides a comparative visual analysis of several digital images, with the ability to change the kernel set in compass edge detection
