This dataset comprises the primary data used in the paper "High-resolution monitoring of wave transformation in the surf zone using a LiDAR scanner array".
The dataset is composed of 3 .mat files, which were generated with the MATLAB software. Mostly, the data consists of the surface elevation for each of the 116 waves measured by the LiDAR and presented in the paper. Along with this, the data used to produce Figure 6, and the breaking point locations detected by every method (used to produce Figure 7) are also provided. The content of each file is described in the metadata contained in the structure data. Dataset for "Efficient hematite photoanodes prepared by hydrochloric acid-treated solutions with amphiphilic graft copolymer"
Porous frameworks of iron oxide (Fe2O3) were prepared by templating with a hydrophobic-hydrophilic graft co-polymer which showed high generated photocurrents under sunlight equivalent illumination. This dataset contains the TEM (transmission electron microscopy) and SEM (scanning electron microscopy) images and raw infrared data.Photocurrent Densities were calculated from generated potential under illumination (at 1 sun equivalent) measured with an Ivium potentiostat and using Ivium Technologies IviumSoft software Release 2.031. Further methodological details may be found in the Experimental Section of the associated manuscript.Data was collected using the PhotoElectroChemical apparatus located in a research laboratory of Dr Salvador Eslava located in Dept of Chemical Engineering, University of Bath. Electron microscopy was conducted at the Microscopy and Analysis Suite, University of Bath.

Acoustic backscatter strength and turbulence data from Vobster Quay (24-28 June 2016)
The dataset provides backscatter strength data from a 500-kHz ADCP by Nortek deployed in Vobster Quay, a 40-m quarry in South-West England (UK). Acoustic data shows the Diel Vertical Migration of small zooplankton at dusk and sunrise on 24-28 June 2016. The dataset also contains 10 turbulence profiles acquired with a microstructure profiler (SCAMP, manufactured by PME) in the same lake during the day. The ensemble-averaged profile shows small dissipation of turbulent kinetic energy in the lake interior, where turbulence is generally suppressed by the summer temperature stratification.
Note: This dataset was originally published for a draft of the paper "Can small zooplankton mix lakes?" in Limnology and Oceanography Letters (DOI: 10.1002/lol2.10047). DFT dataset: X=(Li,Na,Ca,Mg,Al) Intercalation into (F/OH)-Substituted Anatase TiO2
This dataset contains inputs and outputs for a series of calculations considering the intercalation of Li, Na, Mg, Ca, and Al into F/OH-substituted anatase TiO2. These calculations were performed using VASP (Vienna Ab-initio Simulation Package).The VASP output data has been parsed and collated using the `vasp_summary` script contained in the `vasppy` utility.The TGZ archive may be decompressed using the tar and gzip utilities, or by most zip applications.
All DFT calculations were performed using VASP 5.4.4 (vasp.5.4.4.18Apr17-6-g9f103f2a35).
To run the DFT calculations described in this dataset the corresponding pseudopotentials are needed. These are not contained in this dataset due to the VASP license conditions. Each calculation directory contains a `POTCAR.spec` file that specifies the pseudopotentials used.Each VASP calculation directory contains the following files:
- `INCAR`: VASP master input file.
- `KPOINTS`: VASP k-point input file.
- `POSCAR`: VASP structure input file.
- `POTCAR.spec`: This specifies the pseudopotentials used.
- `OUTCAR`: VASP master output file.
- `vasprun.xml`: XML VASP output summary.
- `vaspmeta.yaml`: Additional metadata describing the calculation

This dataset contains processed small-angle neutron scattering and X-ray reflectivity data in support of the named article. The folder includes data of different zwitterionic surfactants investigated in choline chloride:glycerol deep eutectic solvent.Small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) measurements were performed on LOQ instrument at the STFC ISIS Pulsed Neutron and Muon Source, UK. Samples of different concentrations of N-dodecyl-N,N-dimethyl-3-ammonio-1-propanesulfonate, N-tetracyl-N,N-dimethyl-3-ammonio-1-propanesulfonate and n-dodecyl-phosphocholine in 1:2 choline chloride:glycerol were measured in different isotopic substitutions.SANS data were reduced using the open source software MantidPlot, following the standard procedures of the LOQ beamline. Corrections were made for sample transmission, instrument geometry, incident flux and scattering from an empty cell. Contribution from the solvent has been appropriately subtracted from all data files.Output data consists of txt files in the standard format 1D I(q) vs. q (http://danse.chem.utk.edu/trac/wiki/NCNROutput1D_IQ), that can be used in any software available to fit SANS data.A PDF file can be found in the folder with a brief description of the datasets. Dataset for ''Screen printed carbon CsPbBr3 perovskite solar cells with high open-circuit photovoltage''
All the data collected and presented in the publication ''Screen printed carbon CsPbBr3 perovskite solar cells with high open-circuit photovoltage'' have been grouped in this Dataset. Carbon based CsPbBr3 perovskite solar cells have been investigated. In this work, we focus on the effect of the post-annealing temperature on the perovskite material properties and photovoltaic activity. The material properties have been investigated using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), UV-Vis, atomic force microscope (AFM) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The photovoltaic activity of the devices is tested by scanning the JV curve under simulated solar illumination (AM 1.5G filter, 100 mWcm-2) and measuring the EQE. Information about the internal resistance of the device has been taken measuring Impedance spectroscopy. A readme.txt file that describes how the data have been arranged is available
Data supporting article: Energy saving potential of high temperature heat pumps in the UK food and drink sector
This dataset contains data, analysis and results generated in research reported in "Energy saving potential of high temperature heat pumps in the UK Food and Drink sector" in Energy Procedia and presented at the International Conference on Sustainable Energy & Resource Use in Food Chains (17-19 October 2018, Paphos, Cyprus). This includes performance data for heat pumps, parameters and calculations for selected dairy processes, energy use data for the UK Food and Drink sector and calculation steps used in the analysis. The heat pump performance data consists of the nominal Coefficient of Performance (COP) that can be achieved at specified temperature conditions by several high-temperature heat pumps (HTHPs) that are considered representative for the study. The dairy processes selected are pasteurisation of liquid milk, cheese production, yogurt production, milk drying and cleaning in place. For each process, a representative diagram is provided and temperature bounds for each sub-process are used to calculate the COP that the HTHPs would achieve. UK air temperature data is provided and binned into seven 5K bands to enable these calculations. Data on the relative energy uses within the dairy processes (from the Useable Energy Database and other referenced sources) are used with these COP results, to estimate the overall energy savings that are possible. This is repeated at a more aggregated level for the UK Food and Drink sector. The GHG and fuel cost implications of these energy savings are presented in table and graphical format.The dairy process data was collected through literature review. The heat pump data was based on expert review of published test data. The results were based on calculations described in spreadsheet. Please see the references in the spreadsheet for the sources of the background data used.Spreadsheet is in Microsoft Excel 2007+ format

The dataset for "Media Context and the 2017 General Election: How Traditional and Social Media Shape Elections" consists of an analysis of media coverage of the 2017 British General Election. Media included are national newspapers, local newspapers, national and regional television news, and radio. The complete list of outlets is included in the codebooks. This study was conducted as part of the ESRC Media in Context and the 2017 General Election award, which extends the analysis of the 2015 election, data available under SN 8176.
In 2017 the electoral context had shifted from two years earlier, with a majority Conservative government, different leaders of almost all the major parties, Brexit as both the main issue (prior to the terrorist bomb in Manchester) and the ostensible reason the election was called, the possibility of the incumbent government gaining the largest proportion of the vote in a generation, and a growing distrust of polling data and the media e.g., ‘fake news’ and Twitter bots. This provided us with the opportunity to re-examine media coverage and extend our aims in four ways, by: 1) Looking at media coverage and its effects on different leaders and different issues than in 2015, e.g., Theresa May, Jeremy Corbyn, and Brexit; 2) Comparing the drivers of coverage of the election in traditional and social media, how they interact, and their effects in an era of “fake news” and “post-truth democracy” ; 3) Drawing links between key narratives in the 2015 post-election media coverage that led to the EU referendum and key narratives on Brexit in the 2017 campaign; 4) Identifying the aspects of media and media effects that vary between a competitive and an uncompetitive election at the national level and those that stay constant.
Data collection was for the following additional objectives: 1. To extend the longitudinal data set using the methods we established for the 2015 media content, capturing traditional and social media coverage of the 2017 election beginning on April 18th, 2017, the day Theresa May announced her intention to call an election and ending with the Queen’s speech on June 21st. 2. As in ES/M010775/1, to link traditional media content and social media analysis from 2017 to questions in the British Election Study, both allowing examination of media effects in 2017, and, for the same respondents, in 2015 for comparison.The media data were collected through Box of Broadcasts (TV and Radio) and Nexis (newspapers).
