This dataset describes a series of user tests designed to improve the retrieval and comprehension of information by nurses from the NHS Injectable Medicines Guide. It includes the research protocol, data collection tools, interview transcriptions and thematic analysis, participant demographics and numerical outcome data.Nvivo version 11 used for thematic analysis
Dataset for the day-to-day reliability of peak fat oxidation and FATMAX
The dataset includes demographic data of the participants (n=115) and data from the three trials they participated in. Types of data that were collected during the trials are as follows - Trial A and Trial B followed identical protocols that involved anthropometric measurements, resting metabolic rate, a resting venous blood sample and the completion of a graded exercise test to determine PFO and FATMAX by indirect calorimetry. At Trial C, body composition was assessed (via a dual energy x-ray absorptiometry scan) and optional adipose tissue and/or skeletal muscle biopsies were obtained. All trials were completed in an overnight fasted-state.Please see attached readme file
Data supporting: Morphology modulation of ionic surfactant micelles in ternary deep eutectic solvents
This dataset contains raw and processed data in support of the named publication. This consists primarily of small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) data for mixtures of anionic and cationic surfactants in ternary deep eutectic solvents. Data files for differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and viscosity measurements on the pure deep eutectic solvents are also included.Small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) measurements were carried out on the LOQ and Zoom instruments at ISIS Pulsed Neutron and Muon Source, UK. Mixtures either of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), C12TAB and C16TAB (at concentrations of 25 mM and 130 mM) in choline chloride:urea:glycerol DES at different molar ratios were measured in various isotopic substitutions at 70 °C.
The following measurements were carried out on pure choline chloride:urea:glycerol DES in molar ratios of 1:0.5:1.5, 1:1:1 and 1:1.5:0.5:
- Differential scanning calorimetry: DSC measurements on the neat solvents were carried out on a TA Instruments DSC-Q20 differential scanning calorimeter. The sample was first equilibrated at 50 °C and held for 1 min, cooled to -75 °C at a ramp rate of 10 °C min-1 and held for 10 min, before heating to 30 °C at a ramp rate of 5 °C min-1 .
- Viscosity: The viscosity of the solvents was measured using a TA Instruments HR-3 Discovery Hybrid Rheometer operating in flat plate geometry with Peltier temperature control. Viscosity data was obtained in a temperature range of 20 °C – 85 °C at a fixed shear rate of 1 s-1. The DES were measured as prepared, with a seal of mineral oil to prevent solvent interaction with the atmosphere during measurements.SANS data were reduced using the routines within Mantid (https://www.mantidproject.org/Main_Page) following the standard procedures on each instrument. The data were normalized to the sample transmission, calibrated to absolute units using a polymer standard and corrected for detector efficiencies, before scattering from the empty cell was subtracted. The resulting output was converted to absolute units of the scattering intensity (I(q), cm-1) vs. the momentum transfer (q, Å-1). Subtraction of the scattering from the pure solvents was performed afterwards using Igor Pro to account for the incoherent contribution to each sample.Output data from the SANS experiment consists of .txt files in the standard 1D format of I(q) vs. q (http://danse.chem.utk.edu/trac/wiki/NCNROutput1D_IQ). This data can be fitted using any available software capable of fitting SANS data.
All other data is also given as .txt files and can be viewed and plotted using any suitable software.All data files relating to the same experimental technique are grouped together in sub-folders. Files relating to DSC and viscosity measurements on the pure DES. A PDF file is included in the sub-folder containing SANS data which provides a brief description of the contents of each data file
Wind Tool
This tool is designed to help you estimate the pull resistance required of the footing of a shelter to help the shelter survive a storm. Inside the tool (README tab) you will find some tips on how to make shelters more able to resist high winds, and we recommend you read it before using this tool. Armed with this information, you will be able to complete a pull resistance test as outlined in the supporting documents and see if your footings are able to resist the load.This tool only calculates the load on the roof. It is somewhat speculative in that it assumes the load can be distributed across several of the columns and ignores the fact that the roof fixings might fail first. However, it does give an idea of the kind of loads that might happen at various wind speeds. It is important to understand that the total loading on the whole building might not be evenly distributed across the columns and the whole method is extremely approximate
Dataset for "Indoor environment quality and work performance in ‘green’ office buildings in the Middle East"
This data was collected from 13 office buildings in Amman Jordan. It covers five green 'LEED' buildings and eight conventional buildings. The dataset includes the following:
1. Objective data of four thermal conditions indicators (air temperature, mean radiant temperature, relative humidity and air speed) and an indoor air quality indicator: carbon dioxide concentration level.
2. Subjective data include the post-occupancy evaluation (POE) and absenteeism and presenteeism data.
3. Thermal comfort indicators included thermal sensation votes, thermal preference vote, and predictive mean vote.The objective data has two themes: continuous measurements and spot measurements. Continuous measurements were undertaken using Raspberry Pi-based sensors to investigate the actual performance of buildings over long time. Monitored buildings were provided with 83 Raspberry Pis to monitor air temperature and relative humidity, and 21 Raspberry Pis to monitor CO2.
The periodic spot measurements which complied with ISO 7730:2005 and ISO 7726:2001 were conducted to assist in evaluating the occupants’ thermal comfort and calculate the Predicted Mean Vote (PMV). Spot measures were done simultaneously to the time of the survey using the HD 32.3 instrument.All monitored buildings were given a code as the organizations required their data to be anonymised.Continuous measures: Raspberry Pi-based sensors

An investigation into the career experiences and dynamics of paraprofessionals, qualitative data 2017-2019
This data set contains qualitative data collected on the career and work experiences of paralegals in five UK law firms. It comprises a dataset of 79 interviews with paralegals, lawyers, members of professional bodies and educators across the UK, specifically England and Northern Ireland. The interviews were conducted either in person or on the phone, average around one hour, were audio recorded and transcribed. The interview schedule included questions on their career journeys and critical career moments, how they perceive career mobility and career success as well as the challenges and advantages of their role. In addition, participant drawings from 28 paralegals were collected, where participants were asked to visually express their experience of their role. One of the key developments in professions over the last decade has been the rise of paraprofessional labour. Given the scarcity of research in this area, the aim of this ESRC Future Research Leader's project is to investigate how paraprofessionals experience working and making a career in contemporary professional environments. Specifically, it focuses on how paraprofessionals experience and attempt to reconcile the tensions of being situated in a changing professional world, characterised by technologicalisation and commodification on one hand, and traditional ways of organising, based on professional expertise and privileged status, on the other. The insights generated will be particularly relevant for the understanding of contemporary professional work and professional careers for both, academics and practitioners.Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 79 participants involving paralegals, lawyers, members of professional bodies and educators. 28 participant drawings with paralegals were further collected. The data collection period lasted from May 2017 to February 2019. In total, five law firms participated in this study. These firms were purposely selected in that they all employed paralegals in their firms, allowing for comparability, but also represented different geographical areas across the UK (i.e. England and Wales, North and South) and different organisational approaches to managing paralegals to capture differences in practices
Dataset for "Effect of Novel Technology-Enabled Multidimensional Physical Activity Feedback in Primary Care Patients at Risk of Chronic Disease – the MIPACT study"
The Multidimensional Individualized Physical ACTivity (MIPACT) trial was a parallel-group, randomized clinical trial that recruited patients at risk of cardiovascular disease and/or type II diabetes between May 2014 and June 2015 from five primary care practices in the UK. Data collection was completed in November 2016.
Intervention group participants (n=120) received personal multidimensional PA feedback using a sophisticated wearable monitor and customized web-app for 3 months, and were offered five health trainer-led sessions. All participants received standardized information regarding PA. Control group participants (n=84) received no further intervention. Among the 204 participants randomized (mean [SD] age, 64 [10] years; 46% women) 186 (90%) completed the study.
The dataset includes demographic information and objectively-assessed PA dimensions and health-related outcomes at 3 and 12 months.Full details of the methodology are provided in the published study protocol
Dataset for "Evidence for the existence of an inductive effect in superionic conductors"
This dataset contains the computational data and analysis for the paper "Evidence for the existence of an inductive effect in superionic conductors." It includes input and output files for the DFT calculations, performed using VASP, and lightweight analysis scripts used to produce CSV files used to plot the figures in the associated publication.All calculations were performed using VASP. Input files for each calculation are contained within the dataset.Relevant data were extracted using the included python scripts, these can be run on the data as-provided to regenerate the data used to plot the figures in the associated publication. These scripts are contained within the directory '/lgps_analysis'.The necessary open-source Python packages required to run the included scripts are pymatgen and pandas, both of which are available from PyPI.The dataset is downloadable as a gzipped tar file (.tgz). To extract the files run

To rerun the DFT calculations in this dataset the appropriate pseudopotentials are needed. These are not included in this dataset due to the VASP license conditions. Each calculation directory contains a corresponding `POTCAR.spec` file that specifies the pseudopotentials used. These calculations use pseudopotentials from the VASP 5.4 set
Computational Supporting Dataset: Atomic Insights into Aluminium-Ion Insertion in Defective Hydroxyfluorinated Anatase for Batteries
This dataset contains DFT calculation inputs and outputs and analysis codes for calculations of Al intercalation into (OH,F)-substituted anatase TiO2. More details on these calculations and analysis are given in the paper by Legein et al., "Atomic Insights into Aluminium-Ion Insertion in Defective Anatase for Batteries".The VASP output data were parsed and collated using the `vasp_summary` script contained in the `vasppy` Python package.
This dataset was then used for subsequent analysis using a combination of Python scripts and Jupyter notebooks.
The data parsing and analysis steps are described as a Snakemake workflow.All DFT calculations were performed using VASP 5.4.4 (vasp.5.4.4.18Apr17-6-g9f103f2a35).
