Poverty is the incapability of a person to meet his basic need like food, cloth, and shelter. Every country has to face poverty across the world. Bangladesh has also been suffering from poverty. Micro Finance Institutions in Bangladesh are trying to reduce the poverty alleviation over the country. The purpose of this study is to identify the impact of different microfinance services to poverty reduction in Bangladesh. A structured questionnaire was used to collect the data from respondents in Barishal division, Bangladesh, and OLS regression was estimated to find out the impact of microfinance services to the poverty reduction in Bangladesh. Results show that micro-credit mostly influences poverty reduction. Savings, micro-insurance, and training also influence the poverty reduction in Bangladesh. The implication of the study is that microfinance service provisions should be more user-friendly for the customers so that the services can be advanced to the locals of the different regions of Bangladesh for facilitating the rapid economic growth. Financial education may be introduced for a better understanding of microfinance services collection, usage, and for return policy. Policymakers may also provide some guidelines to fight poverty for their rest of life. &nbsp

Cloud and HPC Headway for Next-Generation Management of Projects and Technologies

    Get PDF
In the last decade, cloud computing has changed dramatically. More providers and administration contributions have entered the market, and cloud infrastructure, once limited to single-provider data centers, is expanding. This article discusses the shifting cloud foundation and the benefits of decentralizing computing from data centers. These patterns necessitate novel cloud computing architectures. These models may affect linking people and devices, data-intensive computing, the service space, and self-learning frameworks. Finally, we compiled a list of issues to consider while assessing modern cloud frameworks. Architectural and urban design projects breach scale and predictability constraints and seek enhanced competency, maintainability, energy performance, and cost-efficiency. Simulation and large-scale information processing drive this cycle. Advances in calculations and computer power help address the complex elements of a coordinated whole-structure framework. Adaptability is a barrier to the configuration, control, and development of whole-system frameworks. This position paper proposes several solutions for semi-or fully automated projects, such as short-plan boundary space exploration, large-scope high-accuracy simulation, and integrated multidisciplinary development. These computer-intensive operations were previously only accessible to the exam network. Once empowered by cloud computing and high-performance computing, these methods can stimulate intelligent plan measures, leading to enhanced results and shorter development times

    Get PDF
Sorghum suffers from a lot of pests among which covered smut is the most important. Covered smut induced by the fungus Sporisorium sorghi and it is extremely seed-borne and seedling infection occurs at the time of germination and emergence of seedlings. The incidence of covered kernel smut varies from place to place, but in Ethiopia, it was estimated to be about 50%. This activity initiated to provide practical training on sorghum covered identification, monitoring, and technical skills to experts and farmers and to demonstrate the effect of seed dressing fungicides and traditional packages against sorghum covered smut. The field demonstration was laid out on a single plot with 4 treatments; Cow urine 1:1 (v/v) mixture, Thiram, Apron plus with 3g/kg, and Control untreated as a check. The plot size of the experiment was 10m x 10m with a plant spacing of 15cm and 75cm row spacing. Data on covered smut incidence and grain yield were recorded yield loss and partial budget analysis was made. Training of trainers on sorghum agronomic practices and diseases was given to 79 male and 37 female development agents for four woreda in central Gondar and development agents also gave training for 7925 male and 502 female farmers. There was no infestation of covered smut on fungicide dressed and cultural cow urine-soaked plots on both locations while an incidence of 2.8% at Gondar Zuria and 22.7% at Mirab Belesa. Relative yield advantage of the fungicides and cow urine is calculated over the control untreated check. Yield advantage of 20-26% on apron plus, 13-30% on Thiram, and 16-35% on cow urine were obtained over the untreated control check. Farmers have to use the nearby available cultural (cow urine) practice method and if not one of the available fungicides for control of covered kernel smut on sorghum production and should also be scaled out

    Get PDF
The study examined intergenerational brand transfer from mother to daughter for cosmetics products using evolutionary psychology as the framework. Data were collected from 30 participants (14 mothers, 16 daughters) using in-depth semi-structured interviews. The results showed a strong intergenerational transfer of brand loyalty. Most of the daughters used either the full range (25%) or a part of the range (50%) of cosmetics products used by their mothers. A majority (87.5%) of the daughters reported that they knew the cosmetics brands used by their mothers, and the interviews with their mothers showed that 75% of them accurately remembered the brands. The mothers’ influence was achieved through brand visibility, daughters’ trial use of the cosmetics, and the mothers acting as product suppliers. Price and product characteristics ranked the highest among the daughters’ and mothers’ considerations in purchasing cosmetics, showing that the daughters had adopted their mothers’ behavior and thinking in product selection. The extended family also influenced the daughters’ choice of cosmetics brands because of the close-knit community

In addition to the questionnaire, semi-structured interview questions are prepared to get information from the organization which is analyzed qualitatively. The STATA is used to process the primary data which were collected through questionnaires.  The findings showed that the role of product quality, price, and availability has a positive and significant role in brand loyalty. On the other hand, the price has no significant role in brand loyalty for the cable of a brand. Therefore, in order to maximize the effectiveness of marketing activities and have more loyal customers in cable industry companies should pay more attention to product quality, availability, and promotions. &nbsp
