    WINNING OVER THE GEN Z: EMPIRICAL INSIGHTS INTO SOCIAL MEDIA BEHAVIOUR DURING TRAVEL

    Objective: The objective of this study is to investigate the social media behavior of Generation Z during travel, focusing on their product and service choices, as well as the environmental motivations behind these choices. The aim is to understand how social media influences their travel decisions and promotes responsible tourist behavior.   Theoretical Framework: This research is grounded in theories of digital marketing and consumer behavior, particularly in the context of social media's impact on tourism. Concepts such as interactive marketing, online reviews, and social media influence are central to this investigation, providing a solid basis for understanding the dynamics of Gen Z's travel behavior.   Method: The methodology adopted for this research comprises a mixed-method approach. Questionnaires were distributed, yielding 301 valid responses from Gen Z individuals born between 1995 and 2015, who had traveled at least twice a year and been active on social media for at least two years. The data collection was supplemented by interviews to gain deeper insights into their social media usage and travel preferences. Statistical tools were employed to analyze the data.   Results and Discussion: The results revealed key social media preferences and usage patterns among Gen Z travelers. Notably, positive online reviews and social media influence were significant factors in their travel decisions. The discussion contextualizes these findings within the theoretical framework, highlighting the implications for effective marketing strategies. Discrepancies and limitations of the study are also considered, providing a comprehensive understanding of the research outcomes.   Research Implications: The practical and theoretical implications of this research are significant, offering insights into how social media can be leveraged to foster responsible tourist behavior. These findings can influence practices in the tourism industry, particularly in marketing strategies aimed at Gen Z. The implications extend to benefiting local communities and the environment while enhancing tourist satisfaction.   Originality/Value: This study contributes to the literature by highlighting the innovative approach of examining social media's role in shaping responsible travel behavior among Gen Z. The relevance and value of this research are evidenced by its potential to impact marketing practices in the tourism sector, promoting sustainable tourism and benefiting both travelers and local destinations

    THE EFFECT OF STRATEGIC FLEXIBILITY, STRATEGIC INNOVATION, JOB SATISFACTION AND EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE: STUDY ON SMALL AND MEDIUM CLOTHING INDUSTRY IN EAST JAVA PROVINCE

    Objective: This study investigates the relationships between strategic flexibility, strategic innovation, job satisfaction, and employee performance in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) within East Java’s clothing industry. The research specifically aims to examine the mediating role of job satisfaction in these relationships.   Theoretical Framework: The study is grounded in organizational behavior and strategic management theories, proposing that strategic flexibility and innovation positively influence job satisfaction, which in turn enhances employee performance. Job satisfaction is posited as a mediator that impacts the effect of strategic flexibility and innovation on employee outcomes.   Method: The research employs an explanatory design with Partial Least Squares (PLS) analysis to test hypotheses and establish causal relationships. Data were collected from 160 employees in East Java’s clothing sector through stratified random sampling. A Likert scale-based questionnaire was utilized to measure variables, and SmartPLS 3.0 was used for data analysis.   Results and Discussion: The findings indicate that strategic flexibility significantly enhances both job satisfaction and employee performance. Strategic innovation impacts employee performance indirectly by improving job satisfaction. The mediation analysis reveals that job satisfaction fully mediates the relationship between strategic innovation and employee performance, and partially mediates the effect of strategic flexibility on performance.   Research Implications: The study underscores the effectiveness of PLS analysis in exploring these relationships and offers insights into how SME managers in East Java can improve employee outcomes by focusing on strategic flexibility, innovation, and job satisfaction.   Originality/Value: This research contributes to the literature by highlighting the mediating role of job satisfaction in the relationship between strategic management practices and employee performance. The findings provide practical recommendations for SME managers to enhance performance by prioritizing employee satisfaction and adaptability

    WORKING CAPITAL MANAGEMENT AND FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE: EVIDENCE FROM ALTERNATIVE ENERGY FIRMS IN THE UK

    Purpose: This study examined the impact of working capital management on the financial performance of alternative energy in the UK from 2015 to 2022. The proxy used includes receivable turnover, payable turnover, inventory turnover and return on asset. The study employs an ex-post facto research design using panel data from the sampled firms' annual reports.   Methodology: The panel data were analysed using descriptive statistics, correlation matrix and panel regression analysis. The Hausman specification test showed that the fixed effect was more appropriate.   Findings and Conclusion: The findings show that receivable turnover has a significant positive impact on the return on assets of the alternative firm in the UK. In addition, payable turnover has a significant negative effect on return on assets, while the findings on inventory turnover have an insignificant impact on return on assets. These findings imply that working capital management significantly affects the financial performance of alternative energy firms in the UK. Based on the conclusion, the study recommends that oil and gas firms increase their net cash flow from operating activities to increase their financial performance.   Originality/Value: Globally, it is acknowledged that many companies fail due to poor working capital management. This study contributes to knowledge by examining the effect of working capital management on the financial performance of alternative energy firms in line with sustainable development goals in achieving a sustainable UK economy.     Ecoaldeas: sostenibilidad organizacional y factores de éxito

    Objetivo: Esta investigación se enfoca en analizar los determinantes que más influyen de manera directa en la sostenibilidad de las ecoaldeas, comunidades cuyos pilares fundamentales son la búsqueda de una armonía entre la sostenibilidad ecológica, social y espiritual; y es dentro de su sostenibilidad social que se consideran aspectos relacionados con la gestión administrativa.   Marco Teórico: Con el apoyo de teorías de la organización y el desarrollo sostenible, se investigan los factores que explican el éxito de estas organizaciones, medido por su permanencia en el tiempo.   Método: Mediante el análisis detallado y la interpretación de la información obtenida directamente de ecoaldeas ubicadas alrededor del mundo, se realiza una regresión logística binaria, donde se determinan las variables que tienen significancia y que se explican como “atractores” de la gestión administrativa.   Resultados y Discusión: Los resultados evidencian que, la cultura y la motivación son los determinantes que explican y determinan la permanencia de las ecoaldeas, resaltandosé por encima de otras variables.   Implicaciones de la Investigación: Se contribuye a la teoría de la organización al enmarcar las ecoaldeas como organizaciones y sus variables de la dimensión social como variables también de la gestión administrativa, lo que a su vez ayuda a entender las organizaciones que requiere el desarrollo sostenible.   Originalidad/Valor: Esta investigación aporta a través de un método riguroso como es la regresión logística al entendimentos de las variables determinantes en la permanecia de este tipo de organizaciones que no han sido estudiadas por la ciencia administrativa.Objetivo: Esta investigación se enfoca en analizar los determinantes que más influyen de manera directa en la sostenibilidad de las ecoaldeas, comunidades cuyos pilares fundamentales son la búsqueda de una armonía entre la sostenibilidad ecológica, social y espiritual; y es dentro de su sostenibilidad social que se consideran aspectos relacionados con la gestión administrativa.     STRUCTURAL EQUATION MODEL OF THE VARIABLES AFFECTING THE BUSINESS PERFORMANCE OF THE RETAIL READY-MADE GARMENT BUSINESS BY E-BUSINESS ADOPTION IN THAILAND

    Purpose: The objective of this research was to study the influences that affect the business performance of the retail ready-made garment businesses in Thailand.   Method: The study focused on the use of a qualitative method with a questionnaire as the tool for data collection from a sample of 400 retail ready-made garment businesses. Data analyses included descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis.   Results and Discussions: The factors with the highest means are Customization (mean 5.47), Transactions (mean 5.36), and Supplier Connection (mean 5.30). The multiple regression analysis demonstrated that Customization, Supplier Connection, and Information influence the business performance of retail ready-made garment businesses in Thailand with statistical significance, whereas Transactions do not. Nevertheless, it was also revealed that, in the operation of retail ready-made garment businesses, the value chain for e-businesses includes business performance, production, logistics, the infrastructure of human resources, and finance. E-business adoption influences business performance by beneficially leading to efficient operations and the sustainable growth of organizations.   Research Implications: This disruption, thus, is an opportunity and destruction, which is a challenge for business. Therefore, the business should set the goal for sustainable development by adopting e-business as the key tool to drive the national economy. Furthermore, the use of big data or data analytics would upgrade business efficiency the same as the use of artificial intelligence (AI) that would support business operations, human resource management, and customer information management. Nevertheless, other factors affecting business growth are the use of various platforms, marketing strategies that access the customer widely, reliable services, adoption of technology to e-commerce, and skillful personnel in e-commerce, which would have sustainable positive impacts on the business operation.   Originality/Value: Due to the change in customers’ behavior to become online users, the government sector should set the policy and provide aid to promote the knowledge to the people for employment and careers from the online business that would maximize the value of e-business in Thailand

    Purpose: The main objective of this research is to determine the effect of employee turnover on the performance of the organization in the hospitality industry in Nepal. Research on employee turnover and performance in the hospitality industry has rarely been found in the Nepalese context. This research tries to explore the effect of employee turnover on the performance of organizations in Nepal.   Methodology: This research uses descriptive and causal-comparative research design. Three independent variables i.e., psychological, demographic & economic factors, and one moderating variable i.e., employee turnover and organizational performance as dependent variables have been used for the study. Data were collected from the 150 respondents through the open-ended questionnaire. Descriptive and inferential statistics have been used to analyze the information.   Findings and Conclusion: The study found that there is a positive and significant effect of psychological and demographic factors on the performance of the hospitality industries but economic factor has an insignificant negative effect on the performance of hospitality industries in Nepal.   Practical and Social Implication of Research: The outcome of the research can apply to the Nepalese hospitality industry effectively.  Improvement of the Psychological and social values of employees can reduce employee turnover and it will help to enhance the performance of the hospitality industry in Nepal.   Originality Value: This research concluded that the author's words like; Economic Factors, demographic factors, and Psychological Factors have a significant positive relation although employee turnover, Hospitality Industries, and Performance have insignificant and negative relations with economic factors. The value of this research is to prepare the plan and policy for the hospitality industries in Nepal to maximize profit with the help of minimizing employee turnover.     MANAGING THE INTERSECTION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, DIGITAL TYPING, AND HANDWRITING FOR SUSTAINABLE QUALITY EDUCATION ENHANCEMENT

    Objective: The research objective is to investigate how the rapid advancement of technology, particularly the increasing reliance on digital tools and artificial intelligence (AI) for note-taking and communication, influences handwriting practices. Specifically, to explore the attitudes, emotions, and experiences surrounding handwriting and digital communication in Jakarta.   Theoretical Framework: This research employs Social Change Theory as the theoretical framework to understand how technology influences handwriting practices. Social Change Theory provides a lens through which to examine the societal shifts brought about by technological advancements, considering how these changes impact individuals' behaviors, attitudes, and perceptions regarding handwriting and digital communication.   Method: The study utilizes qualitative research methods, including focus group discussions, observations, and interviews. These methods allow for a comprehensive exploration of participants' attitudes, emotions, and experiences related to handwriting and digital communication.   Results and Discussion: Findings from the study suggest that while AI and digital typing offer efficiency and accessibility, handwriting retains unique cognitive and emotional benefits. Participants express a range of attitudes towards handwriting and digital communication, highlighting both the advantages and drawbacks of each method. Managing the integration of AI, digital typing, and handwriting in education emerges as a potential solution to address concerns about technology dependence while fostering critical thinking and cultural appreciation for sustainability and the enhancement of the quality of education, as SDG’ No. 4.   Research Implications: The findings of this research have several implications for educational practice and policy that should recognize the value of incorporating handwriting alongside AI and digital typing in educational curricula

    SUSTENTABILIDADE DO SERVIÇO GASTRONÔMICO PARA O POSICIONAMENTO DO DESTINO TURÍSTICO DA BAHIA DE CARÁQUEZ. EQUADOR

    Objective: Evaluate the gastronomic services offered by restaurants in the area to define the level of impact it has on the perception of national and international consumers.   Theoretical Framework: Preliminary studies demonstrate that the consumer behavior evaluation model for the marketing of tourist destinations from its methodological context is presumed to model consumer behavior from an ex-ante assessment, the design of change actions and an ex-post reevaluation. ; contributes to achieving changes and allows obtaining better economic and commercial results in the tourist destination proposed by Lemoine; Hernández et al., (2021).   Method: The methodology was structured in three stages that from its conception facilitated a study in accordance with the quantitative research demands. Through the inductive method, certain behavior of the gastronomic activity was observed, denoting representative statistics to develop efficient management and business decision making.   Results and Discussion: In the evaluation, it was determined to classify the gastronomic services into three categories where two restaurants represented 54% of the best evaluated in category A, three represented 28% that placed it in category B and 9 that represent 18% that belong to category “C” and are considered regular.   Research Implications: The investigation shows that digital platforms such as Tripadvisor contribute to decision making and define effective strategies to achieve business objectives.   Originality/Value: Fisher Matrix adapted to the research object made it easier to observe the deficiencies of the gastronomic activity with the purpose of using as a strategy the modeling of the behavior of the consumer who frequents the destination.O presente estudo foi realizado para determinar a sustentabilidade através da percepção dos clientes sobre os serviços gastronômicos oferecidos em restaurantes da cidade de Bahia de Caráquez, no Equador, através da plataforma TripAdvisor. O método indutivo facilitou a determinação do nível de serviço onde o restaurante Puerto Amistada recebeu o maior número de visitantes, 39% avaliaram seus serviços como excelentes e 34% como muito bons. Determinou-se classificar os serviços gastronômicos em três categorias onde dois restaurantes representaram 54% dos mais bem avaliados na categoria A três representaram 28% que o colocaram na categoria B e 9 que representam 18% que pertencem à categoria “C” e são considerados regular. A Matriz Fisher, através de critérios especializados, tendo em conta as categorias de restaurantes, foram colocados no quadrante de mau serviço, restaurantes de categoria C. Propõe-se a aplicação de estratégias de posicionamento, aliança e cooperação que contribuam para a melhoria dos serviços e para a sustentabilidade gastronómica

    THE EFFECT OF WORKPLACE INCIVILITY, PERCEIVED SUPERVISOR SUPPORT, JOB SATISFACTION ON ORGANIZATIONAL IDENTIFICATION THAT RESULTS EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE AND TURNOVER INTENTION

    Purpose: This study analyses the influence of Workplace Incivility, Perceived Supervisor Support, Job Satisfaction on Organizational Identification and its implications for Employee Performance and Turnover Intention.   Theoretical Framework: Workplace incivility is related to a range of work attitudes, stress indicators, and behaviours, both for the person experiencing incivility as well as for those engaging in uncivilised behaviour. The incivility experienced is closely associated with low job satisfaction and sub-optimal employee performance, high levels of stress and burnout, and a strong desire to leave the job. Perceived supervisor support refers to the perception among employees of how much their supervisors value their contributions and care about their well-being.   Design/Methodology/Approach: Determination of the sample using purposive sampling method involving employees who work in the renewable energy industry in Jakarta as many as 210 respondents. Analysis tool is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using AMOS version 22.0.   Findings: It was found that Workplace Incivility does not affect Organizational Identification but, Perceived Supervisor Support and Job Satisfaction have an influence on Organizational Identification. The implication of Organizational Identification has an influence on Employee Performance and Turnover Intention, but Employee Performance does not affect the Turnover Intention of employees working in renewable energy in Jakarta.   Research, Practical & Social Implications: From the results of this study, management can get used to the culture that superiors should pay more attention to the performance of employees. In addition, management can consider that employees are part of the company, with this, employees will be more confident in their identity in the company which will increase Organizational Identification. High Organizational Identification is proven to improve Employee Performance and reduce Turnover Intention of employees.   Originality/Value: The addition of turnover intention variables is the difference between this research and the previous one. The research was conducted in renewable  energy company in Jakarta, Indonesia. This is the uniqueness and originality of this research.Objetivo: Este estudo analisa a influência da Incivilidade no Local de Trabalho, do Apoio Apercebido do Supervisor, da Satisfação no Trabalho na Identificação Organizacional e as suas implicações no Desempenho dos Colaboradores e na Intenção de Turnover. Enquadramento teórico: A incivilidade no local de trabalho está relacionada com uma série de atitudes no trabalho, indicadores de stress e comportamentos, tanto para a pessoa que sofre a incivilidade como para aqueles que se envolvem em comportamentos incivilizados. A incivilidade experimentada está estreitamente associada a uma baixa satisfação no trabalho e a um desempenho abaixo do ideal por parte dos trabalhadores, a elevados níveis de stress e de esgotamento e a um forte desejo de abandonar o emprego. A perceção do apoio do supervisor refere-se à perceção que os trabalhadores têm de quanto os seus supervisores valorizam as suas contribuições e se preocupam com o seu bem-estar. Conceção/Metodologia/Abordagem: Determinação da amostra utilizando o método de amostragem intencional, envolvendo empregados que trabalham na indústria das energias renováveis em Jacarta, num total de 210 inquiridos. A ferramenta de análise é a Modelação de Equações Estruturais (SEM) utilizando o AMOS versão 22.0. Conclusões: Verificou-se que a Incivilidade no Local de Trabalho não afecta a Identificação Organizacional, mas que o Apoio Percebido do Supervisor e a Satisfação no Trabalho têm influência na Identificação Organizacional. A implicação da Identificação Organizacional tem influência no Desempenho dos Funcionários e na Intenção de Rotatividade, mas o Desempenho dos Funcionários não afecta a Intenção de Rotatividade dos funcionários que trabalham na área das energias renováveis em Jacarta. Implicações para a investigação, práticas e sociais: A partir dos resultados deste estudo, a gerência pode se acostumar com a cultura de que os superiores devem dar mais atenção ao desempenho dos funcionários. Para além disso, a gestão pode considerar que os empregados fazem parte da empresa, com isto, os empregados estarão mais confiantes na sua identidade na empresa, o que aumentará a Identificação Organizacional. Está provado que uma elevada Identificação Organizacional melhora o Desempenho dos Colaboradores e reduz a Intenção de Turnover dos colaboradores. Originalidade/Valor: A adição de variáveis de intenção de rotação é a diferença entre este estudo e o anterior. A investigação foi realizada numa nova empresa de energia em Jacarta, na Indonésia. Marco teórico: La incivilidad en el lugar de trabajo está relacionada con una serie de actitudes laborales, indicadores de estrés y comportamientos, tanto para la persona que experimenta la incivilidad como para quienes participan en el comportamiento incívico. La incivilidad experimentada está estrechamente asociada con una baja satisfacción laboral y un rendimiento inferior al óptimo de los empleados, altos niveles de estrés y agotamiento, y un fuerte deseo de abandonar el trabajo. El apoyo percibido del supervisor se refiere a la percepción entre los empleados de hasta qué punto sus supervisores valoran sus contribuciones y se preocupan por su bienestar. Diseño/Metodología/Enfoque: Determinación de la muestra mediante un método de muestreo intencional en el que participaron empleados que trabajan en el sector de las energías renovables en Yakarta, hasta un total de 210 encuestados. La herramienta de análisis es el Modelo de Ecuaciones Estructurales (SEM) utilizando AMOS versión 22.0. Resultados: Se constató que la incivilidad en el lugar de trabajo no afecta a la identificación organizativa, pero el apoyo percibido del supervisor y la satisfacción en el trabajo influyen en la identificación organizativa. La implicación de la identificación organizativa influye en el rendimiento de los empleados y en la intención de cambiar de empresa, pero el rendimiento de los empleados no afecta a la intención de cambiar de empresa de los empleados que trabajan en el sector de las energías renovables en Yakarta. Investigación, implicaciones prácticas y sociales: A partir de los resultados de este estudio, la dirección puede acostumbrarse a la cultura de que los superiores deben prestar más atención al rendimiento de los empleados. Además, la dirección puede considerar que los empleados forman parte de la empresa, con lo que los empleados tendrán más confianza en su identidad en la empresa, lo que aumentará la Identificación Organizativa. Está demostrado que una alta identificación organizativa mejora el rendimiento de los empleados y reduce su intención de cambiar de empresa. Originalidad/Valor: La adición de variables de intención de rotación es la diferencia entre esta investigación y la anterior. La investigación se llevó a cabo en una nueva empresa energética de Yakarta (Indonesia). Esta es la singularidad y originalidad de esta investigación

    THE MODEL OF STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT OF A RELIGIOUS TOURISM DESTINATION IN FUNCTION OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

    Objective: This study aims to explore the significance and potential of religious tourism in Croatia for sustainable development, highlighting the absence of a strategic approach in managing this tourism sector. The primary goal is to assess the current state of religious tourism, identify challenges, and recommend strategic directions for enhancing religious tourism destinations.   Theoretical Framework: The research is anchored in the theories and models of sustainable development, tourism management, and cultural heritage preservation. These theories provide a comprehensive understanding of how religious tourism can contribute to economic growth, cultural preservation, and community engagement in a sustainable manner.   Method: Employing survey research and analysis of relevant resources, this study systematically examines the current landscape of religious tourism in Croatia. It focuses on stakeholder coordination, promotion strategies, infrastructure development, and cultural heritage preservation efforts.   Results and Discussion: The investigation reveals a fragmented approach to managing religious tourism, characterized by poor coordination among stakeholders, inadequate promotion, underdeveloped infrastructure, and challenges in cultural heritage preservation. These findings suggest that a more cohesive and strategic approach could significantly bolster sustainable development, enhance economic opportunities in rural locales, and foster cultural heritage appreciation.   Research Implications: The study underscores the necessity for stronger collaboration among religious communities, tourism organizations, and governmental authorities.
