    Get PDF
Purpose: To present, through a case study, two technological tools for the playful-business teaching of entrepreneurship, one called the digital channel "cvivo.digital," and another of a curricular type called "Didactic Contents for Entrepreneurship."   Theoretical Framework: The Communication Revolution poses a challenge to one of the oldest and most persistent problems in the world, and technological tools represent determining factors in entrepreneurship processes (González et al., 2020).   Design/Methodology/Approach: As a methodological strategy, the phases of conceiving, designing, implementing, and operating (CDIO) were implemented. Although originally a teaching strategy in engineering, it is also applicable to research processes in other fields of knowledge. The stated stages were accompanied by documentary reviews, exercises of participant observation, and pilot testing, leading to the materialization of the technological tools.   Findings: The results highlighted the joint management and circulation of knowledge (students-teachers), functionality, usability, and portability of technological tools according to the real context of students and the current and growing challenges of entrepreneurship in Colombia.   Research, Practical & Social Implications: The article shows a path to promote and strengthen entrepreneurship in higher education by offering the pillars that can contribute to this important task for society.   Originality/Value: The results reflect an innovative way of addressing formative needs and promoting innovation, inviting reflection and experimentation with these forms of university work in various contexts

Purpose: In this article, the published articles of this type of programming (DNP) were reviewed and classified according to the conditions of its use into two types: 1) De Novo programming under certainty, 2) De Novo programming under uncertainty, and the second type has been classified into four types: 1) Interval de novo programming, 2) Fuzzy de novo programming, 3) Type-II Fuzzy de novo programming, 4) Stochastic de novo programming, in addition to that, the articles were classified according to the author’s, years of publication, type of (DNP) model, solution approach, validation and field of application.   Theoretical Framework: Most of the methods used in operations research focus on maximizing or optimizing existing available systems, but there are other suggested methods and methodologies that have been applied to design new systems such as De Novo programming, so there is a difference between improving an available system and designing an improved system.   Design/Methodology/Approach: We analyzed the De novo programming from 2017 to 2023. We identified when, who, where and what was published on the subject.   Findings: The results of this study resulted in a number of conclusions, including: that all the proposed models in the improvement of the De Novo programming model seek to design an optimum system by removing trade-offs between goals and redesigning the model. Through the articles reviewed and especially the uncertainty in the model, the researchers used fuzzy programming the most in addressing the uncertainty of FDNP: reaching 31%, either SDNP: 5%, FIDNP: 3% and IDNP: 3%.   Research, Practical & Social Implications: We suggest a future research agenda and highlight to the methods that used to solve DNP under certainty and uncertainty.   Originality/Value: The results indicate that the number of publications is growing, and the application of de Novo programming in the fields of (agriculture, industry and irrigation) more than the rest of the fields

    Get PDF
Purpose: The rapid growth of unicorn startups — privately held startup companies valued at over $1 billion — has inspired researchers and investors to better understand the key factors behind their success. While product-market fit, timing, and business models are frequently studied, this paper dive deeper into the backgrounds of the founders themselves. By analyzing various educational, and professional attributes of unicorn startup founders, we seek to uncover common patterns and insights that might hint at the success criteria of unicorn creation.   Design/Methodology/Approach: Our study adopted an exploratory approach utilizing both quantitative and qualitative methods to discover the nuances of unicorn startup founders' backgrounds. Using a dataset of 3925 founders, we identified patterns in unicorn creation. In addition, qualitative insights were garnered through a review of existing literature. This approach provided a comprehensive view bridging the data with theoretical review.   Findings: A significant proportion of unicorn startup founders 1163 of the 3925 examined, had prior entrepreneurial engagements, which underlines the value of experience in high-impact ventures. A pronounced gender imbalance was observed, with a whopping 93% of founders being male, spotlighting potential systemic and cultural barriers in the entrepreneurial field. Fields such as International Relations, Public Administration, and STEM disciplines like Bioengineering and Medical Informatics were represented among the unicorn producing majors. These findings suggest a cross-disciplinary effect resulting in unicorn creation.   Originality: Instead of just focusing on one part of founders’ background, this study combines their education and experiences to give a full picture. This approach makes it unique and adds a new perspective to what we know about successful startups. This new angle can prompt more research and give us a deeper understanding of how unicorn startups come to be
