On the relation of character codegrees and the minimal faithful quasi-permutation representation degree of p-groups
For a finite group G, we denote by (Formula presented.), the minimal degree of a faithful representation of G by quasi-permutation matrices over (Formula presented.). For an irreducible character (Formula presented.) of G, the codegree of (Formula presented.) is defined as (Formula presented.). In this article, we establish equality between (Formula presented.) and a (Formula presented.) -sum of codegrees of some irreducible characters of a non-abelian p-group G of odd order. We also study the relation between (Formula presented.) and irreducible character codegrees for various classes of non-abelian p-groups, such as, p-groups with cyclic center, maximal class p-groups, GVZ p-groups, and others
Enhanced ESD Protection Techniques for 10V Neurostimulator Circuits in 65nm CMOS Technology
A custom Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protection circuit is essential for the reliability of 10-V neurostimulators implemented in a standard low-voltage CMOS process. The typical foundry-provided ESD diode cannot protect the ESD event without compromising on area. Here, we propose a custom ESD protection design in 65nm CMOS technology within the given area of 57 X 72 μm2, limited to pad size. The dynamic resistance (Rdyn) of the proposed design is 3Ω which is > 10X lower as compared to the foundry-provided design (31.93 Ω) providing substantially lower clamping voltage (~12V) than the oxide breakdown limit (16V)

Integrated Approach for Efficient Adaptive Underdetermined DOA Estimation: Coarray LMS with Covariance Matrix Error Removal
—Underdetermined direction of arrival (U-DOA) estimation relies on the higher degrees of freedom provided by the difference coarray of a non-uniform linear array. The coarray domain signal is obtained by vectorizing the array covariance matrix, which is estimated using array signals from multiple snapshots. However, in low snapshot scenarios, errors arise in the covariance matrix due to non-zero off-diagonal elements in the signal and noise covariance matrices, degrading U-DOA estimation performance. This work proposes an integrated approach combining a novel covariance matrix error removal technique with the adaptive Coarray LMS and subspace-based Coarray MUSIC U-DOA estimation methods. Our method uses a matrix decomposition based approach to estimate a sparse, full-rank covariance matrix while removing low-rank residual errors caused by low snapshots. Unlike conventional methods, we treat the sparse matrix as the desired covariance matrix, addressing low-snapshot underdetermined scenarios. Additionally, we introduce a novel computationally efficient gridless approach to obtain the DOA spectrum by analyzing weights in the Fourier domain. Simulations validate the improved U-DOA estimation performance of the proposed method in low snapshot scenarios

Politics of Transtextual Influence: On Angela Moorjani's Beckett and Buddhism
This article focuses on Angela Moorjani's book Beckett and Buddhism (2021) to advance a transtextual framework for understanding Beckett's Buddhist and non-European influences. Though 'transtext' is mentioned by Moorjani, it is not elaborately theorized by her. I theorize this idea from Gérard Genette's narratology to account for the mediated, multi-layered influences Moorjani reads in her book. I posit the transtextual operation as an outside-in movement where the context pushes the text from its surroundings and build on the political aspect of this transtextual influence by importing Edward Said's orientalism into the discussion. In the process, I offer micro-readings from Beckett's Murphy and How It Is that respond to Moorjani's readings to highlight Beckett's oblique critique of the orientalist discourse. The objective is to address the neglected political regime of representation in Beckett's unconscious borrowings and disavowals around Buddhism and Indian thought. I further the political inquiry by invoking Ambedkarite Buddhism in India and its mobilization of the Buddhist non-self as a tool for emancipation from the oppressive identitarian discourse of 'caste.' This invocation along with the third and final micro-reading from the novella 'The End' shows how Beckett's appeal to the Buddhist non-self has a political undercurrent with a critique of identitarian discourses
Numerical investigation of pre-mixer for non-catalytic diesel autothermal reformer
The catalytic reforming of diesel presents several challenges, including soot formation and rapid catalyst deactivation. To address this, we've explored non-catalytic autothermal reforming in our preliminary experiments and observed enhanced reformer efficiency when using premixed fuel-oxidizer mixture. However, there was limitations to the extent of mixing achievable in the present pre-mixer design due to the occurrence of auto-ignition. This study aims to address these challenges by employing a detailed kinetic mechanism to examine how various operating factors such as reformer pressure and initial mixture temperature, impact ignition delay. Additionally, we've investigated the effects of recirculating a portion of reformate gas on reformer efficiency. Results indicate that tuning the pre-mixer ignition delay can significantly enhance mixing while avoiding auto-ignition, thereby increasing reformer efficiency. We expect these findings to inform the next generation of reformer design
Insights into plate tearing and subduction dynamics in the Andaman Nicobar region through 3D geodynamic and gravity modeling
The Andaman and Nicobar region is a geologically complex area characterized by active subduction and tectonic activities, including the collision of the Indian Plate with the Burma Plate. Seismological studies suggest that differential subduction and rollback velocities in this region may lead to tearing of the subducting plate, potentially dividing it into three distinct segments. Slab tearing plays a critical role in influencing various geodynamic processes such as earthquakes, volcanism, uplift rates in mountain ranges. While lithospheric tears are typically identified through seismic tomography and seismicity trends, gravity anomalies provide a valuable complementary approach. In this study, we employ a 3D thermo-mechanical visco-plastic model, I3ELVIS, to simulate the subduction and tearing processes. We will explore the interaction between subduction, rollback, and tearing of the plate and its influence on the gravitational field of the region. Forward simulation of Gravity anomaly is conducted on different modeled geodynamic scenarios, and resulting 2D profiles of gravity anomalies are compared with observed gravity data from the region to assess the validity of the plate tearing hypothesis. Our findings indicate that slab tearing indeed plays a crucial role in subduction dynamics in the Andaman-Sumatra subduction zone
