No full textThis open-access book provides basic management knowledge in a concise and structured way. Fundamental aspects of management are described, based on which a model of the enterprise is outlined. This allows readers to find their way around easily, reflect, set new approaches in context, and examine them critically. The practical examples, the interpretation questions, and the short case studies at the end of each chapter facilitate the transition from theory to practice. Sustainability, corporate responsibility, and circular business have been extended for this second edition. It also adds a new perspective to the English-language literature on Muslim women outside the Middle-Eastern or Sub-Indian continent communities context, which used to dominate the scholarly discussion or publication in this field

No full textSeit dem Jahr 2010 engagieren sich viele haupt- und ehrenamtliche Menschen in den fünf katholischen (Erz-)Bistümern in Nordrhein-Westfalen in der Prävention sexualisierter Gewalt gegen Kinder, Jugendliche sowie schutz- oder hilfebedürftige Erwachsene. Ausgangspunkt war das erschütternde Bekanntwerden zahlreicher Taten sexualisierter Gewalt. Die Aufarbeitung hält an. Die nordrhein-westfälischen (Erz-)Bistümer haben ein Forschungsprojekt in Auftrag gegeben, um untersuchen zu lassen, ob und wie Prävention wirken kann. Das Buch gibt die Ergebnisse dieses Forschungsprojektes wieder, ordnet sie ein, zeigt Lücken und Entwicklungsbedarfe auf und gibt Antworten auf die Frage, ob und unter welchen Umständen Prävention sexualisierter Gewalt in katholischen Kontexten wirken kann

No full textDurch die steigende Nachfrage nach Bauteilen mit hoher Funktionsdichte gewinnen metallische Komponenten mit texturierter Oberfläche an Bedeutung. Texturierte Oberflächen sind häufig aus der Natur inspiriert und können verschiedene Funktionen wie eine reduzierte Reibung oder eine angepasste Benetzbarkeit bereitstellen. Konventionelle Herstellungsverfahren solcher Bauteile geraten durch lange Prozesszeiten und hohe Fertigungskosten bisweilen an ihre Grenzen. Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wird daher ein kombiniertes Umformverfahren untersucht, das die Herstellung von Bauteilgrundkörpern mit der Texturierung der Oberfläche in einem ressourceneffizienten Prozess verbindet. Die Zielsetzung der Arbeit ist die Erarbeitung eines grundlegenden Prozessverständnisses der umformtechnischen Fertigung dünnwandiger Komponenten mit mikrogeprägten Strukturen in einem einstufigen Verfahren. Die Prozessanalyse erfolgt anhand der Untersuchung von bauteil- und prozessspezifischen Herausforderungen sowie der anschließenden Ableitung von Grenzen der Formgebung. Eine systematische Einflussanalyse zudem Aufschluss über die Wirkmechanismen der Prozesskombination. Darauf basierend werden Methoden zur Erweiterung der Prozessgrenzen erarbeitet und bereitgestellt. Im Hinblick auf den industriellen Einsatz wird das werkzeugseitige Verschleißverhalten in der Fertigung großer Stückzahlen untersucht. Aus den erzielten Erkenntnissen werden anwendungsnahe Empfehlungen für kombinierte Texturierungsprozesse abgeleitet

The Conference aims to place at the center of the discussion an interpretation of the concept of research that, without neglecting an idea of study, protection, and enhancement of environmental and cultural heritage, focuses on the needs of contemporary society and its possible developments, making use of innovative theoretical, methodological, and operational activities, including those characterized by an interdisciplinary approach. No full textCultural history of contemporary Portuguese comics and their creative responses to trauma Portugal's vibrant comics scene originated as early as the 19th century, bringing forth brilliant individual artists, but has remained mostly unknown beyond Portugal’s borders to this day. Now a new generation employs this medium to put into question hegemonic views on the economy, politics, and society. Following the experience of the financial crisis of the past decades and its impact on social policies, access to and rules of public discourse, and civil strife, comics have questioned what constitutes a traumatogenic situation and what can act as a creative response. By looking at established graphic novels by Marco Mendes and Miguel Rocha, fanzine-level, and even experimental productions, Visualising Small Traumas is the first English-language book that addresses Portuguese contemporary comics and investigates how trauma studies can both shed a light on comics making and be informed by that very same practice.
