Medical Device Management
Medical Devices are an extremely important, versatile and complex product category within healthcare. However, compared to medicinal products, hospitals, medical staff, etc., there is much less general awareness and understanding of medical devices. This book illuminates different facets of medical devices in a holistic manner. It describes the complexity of the industry, markets, manufacturers, and numerous other stakeholders as well as related regulations, required competencies, and future trends. More specifically, it describes a range of products and innovations, safety risks and regulations, legal aspects, and certification processes. It also examines the market from the point of view of the manufacturer from start-ups to large companies and conglomerates. Finally, this book looks at the special role sustainability and ESG plays in the future of medical device innovation, production, and usage. Featuring industry case studies this book is ideal for individuals, from scientists to managers, interested in healthcare and who would like to understand the overall relevance of medical devices from different perspectives, specifically interactions, developments and dynamics between the different business areas and stakeholders. This book is open access

Wie also sollte man damit umgehen?
Figures such as Jair Bolsonaro in Brazil, Javier Milei in Argentina, Nayib Bukele in El Salvador, and José Antonio Kast in Chile represent the current rise of the right in Latin America. This volume sheds light on the characteristics and manifestations of right-wing forces in politics and society, opposition and government, and analyses the causes, background, and consequences of their political success. The contributions address overarching questions concerning the distinction between right-wing populism and right-wing extremism, their relationship with democracy, as well as the role of anti-feminism, religion, and transnational networks. Country chapters on Argentina, Brazil, El Salvador, and Colombia explore these issues in greater depth. This title is also available as open access.PublishedFigures such as Jair Bolsonaro in Brazil, Javier Milei in Argentina, Nayib Bukele in El Salvador, and José Antonio Kast in Chile represent the current rise of the right in Latin America.
How do young people imagine a good, successful life, and what role does their sense of belonging play in this? This book examines the emergence and biographical development of values under conditions of multiple affiliations. Using biographical narrative interviews with young women from Free Church Russian-German families, Rebekka Hahn shows how adolescents relate to the values of their different social contexts and thereby arrive at their own concepts of self and life
Online Misogyny in Brazil
This open access book tells the story of how Congress and courts have responded to online misogyny and online gender-based violence in Brazil. As thousands of women, young and old, famous and anonymous, are targeted with online violence violating their freedoms in Brazil, civil society has fought for the recognition of the problem of online misogyny in the law. In her exploration of this evolving landscape, Mariana Valente unpacks how the shifting political landscape of the last decade in Brazil has intersected with feminist movements and internet policy discussions, and the resulting legislative developments. Drawing from almost fifteen years of research, the book brings the key cases and political fights that moved the conversation forward and how Congress and courts responded to the issue. It also deals with how foreign digital platforms gave rise to conflicts between the local and the transnational. Problems such as nonconsensual dissemination of intimate images, hate speech and political violence against women on social media are interwoven with critical legal and social theory. The result is a picture of the centrality of online misogyny to the recent political developments in Brazil and the advances and failures of the law in responding to the problem from an intersectional perspective. By analysing the fight against online misogyny in one of the largest countries in the world, Online Misogyny in Brazil: Law, Internet Governance, and the Struggle for Gender Justice showcases strategies to achieve one of the main targets of SDG 5: “End all forms of discrimination against all women and girls everywhere”. This is a revised and expanded English edition of a book originally published in Portuguese. The translation of the original manuscript into English was done with the help of artificial intelligence. A subsequent human revision was done primarily in terms of content
Schiller filosofo
PublishedThis volume provides the Italian translation of one of the most significant texts in the process of discovery and reception of Schiller's philosophy initiated by thinkers of the post-Kantian and neo-Kantian tradition. Schiller as a Philosopher (1858) by the Hegelian Kuno Fischer was the first work to investigate and present the thought of the great poet, elevating him to the status of philosopher, as indicated by the title itself. In his essay, Fischer outlines a new philosophical canon ranging from Kant to Hegel's idealism and including Schiller as a continuator of Kantian ideas. During the nineteenth century, this canon was adopted by neo-Kantian thinkers, who, like Fischer, identified Schiller the philosopher with Schiller the Kantian
