As future astronomic missions will require more and more stringent resolution requirements, the high demand for an environment clean of vibrations and disturbance appears. This also leads to the need for high precision steering devices for fine pointing of sensitive optics with the highest possible accuracy. Several methods exist to reduce vibration levels: the first consists in isolating the sensitive system from the perturbation and the second in damping the structure vibration modes. Therefore, two Stewart platforms have been designed, manufactured and tested. The first is a soft hexapod that provides 6 degree-of-freedom (DOF) active isolation and the second is a stiff hexapod that provides active damping to whatever flexible payload attached/mounted to it. Ontology-based author profiling of documents
In this paper we present the advantages of using an ontology service for the modelling of user profiles in the EC FP5 IST project NAMIC (IST-1999-12392). By means of an ontology server people set up user profiles, which are in fact views, i.e. specifications of queries on the ontology. These views are constructed using a JAVA API, which forms the commitment layer of the ontology, built on top of an ontology base. In NAMIC an ontology server is used to establish a link between the lexical object representations, generated by the natural language processors (NLP) on the one hand and the user’s interest, specified through the selection of relevant concepts and facts of the ontology on the other. This allows to specify a user profile independently of language, categorization and NLP specific "world models". Users then set up a profile consisting of events, agents participating in these events and other content information in which they are interested in. For instance, a journalist writing articles about financial issues may be interested in related documents containing a “raise event” of company shares. If he has specified those conditions in his profile he will be able to retrieve resources which contain events that are semantically related to that kind of event pattern. User profiles in NAMIC do not have to be static. The results of processing by the NLPs of a document the user is currently working on, may be used to construct a dynamic profile, which may contain events specific for that document. Information-based incentivisation when rewards are inadequate.
In many cases, intermediaries play a major role in linking between service providers and their target users. Yet, attracting intermediaries at a marketplace to promote a service to their existing customers can be very challenging, since they are usually very busy and would incur additional cost as a result of such promotion. In response, this paper presents an information-based incentivisation framework, which combines financial rewards with other motivating information, in order to incentivise intermediaries at a marketplace to undertake service promotion. Specifically, the intermediaries are associated with a group of incentivising agents, capable of learning the individual motivational needs of these intermediaries,
and accordingly target them with the most effective incentives. The incentivising agents collaborate with each other to gather motivational information, by sharing their observations on intermediaries.
The proposed incentivisation approach is evaluated through a corresponding agent-based simulation, and the experimental results obtained demonstrate its effectivenes

Copper(II) complexes of two non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) (naproxen (nap) and salicylate (sal)) with nitrogen donor ligands pyrazole (pz) and metronidazole (mtnd), [Cu(sal)2(pz)2] (1), [Cu(nap)2(pz)4] (2), [Cu2(nap)4(mtnd)2] (3) have been synthesized and spectroscopically characterized. The crystal structure of complex (1) has been determined by X-ray crystallography. The Cu(II) ion coordination consist of nitrogen atom (Ni) of pyrazoles and oxygen atom (01) of the salicylate carboxylate groups to yield trans-CuN2O2+02 chromophore. The catalytic activities of complexes toward the aerobic oxidations of 3,5-di-tert-butylcatechol (3,5-DTBC) to 3,5-di-tert-butyl-o-benzoquinone (3,5-DTBQ), 0-phenylenediamine (OPD) to 2,3- diaminophenazine (DAP) and 2-aminophenol (OAP) to 2-amino-3H-phenoxazine-3-one (APX) have been studied.
