    Just a few years ago, the University of Glamorgan with its relatively small ‘divisions’ in the social sciences had a rather limited profile in the youth field. The profile it had, largely around youth homelessness, was restricted to the United Kingdom and was primarily located in Wales.As a ‘post-1992’ British university (a former polytechnic), the University of Glamorgan hadslowly developed not only a reputation for teaching quality but also – in the context of itsparticular history and traditions – some name in research and policy engagement. It is to be hoped that that name is increasingly crossing international boundaries and that, in particular, associations will come to be made more immediately between the University of Glamorgan and its specific contribution to youth research and policy in Europe
