The effect of breastfeeding counseling using card media on the knowledge and skills of breastfeeding mothers using the Quasy Experiment research approach

    No full text
Purpose: This research aims to analyze the effect of breastfeeding counseling cards on the knowledge and breastfeeding skills level in mothers of babies 0-6 months. Methods: This research used a quasi-experimental design with two treatment groups. The research sample of 30 respondents was calculated with the help of G-Power Analysis 3.1 based on a 2-group t-test with an alpha error of .05, power of study 0.80, and large effect size (0.9). Results: The average age of breastfeeding mothers is 26.7 years, with the majority education level being senior high school (SMA) at 63.3% and the number of children at one level being 53.3%. Counseling with cards had a significant effect on the level of knowledge of breastfeeding mothers (p < 0.000). Counseling also significantly affects changes in skills (p < 0.000). The intensity of counseling is also a factor that influences the improvement of the mother's skills, so the more frequent contact between the mother and the counselor, the more often the mother will receive information, indirectly improving the mother's skills. Conclusion: The results of this study can be used as a reference for further research related to breastfeeding counseling and exclusive breastfeeding. The results of this research can be developed with other media, both print and electronic media, by taking advantage of advances in technology and society that continue to develop to increase the knowledge and skills of breastfeeding mothers and achieve exclusive breastfeedin

Introduction: Family resilience is strongly influenced by religious coping and spiritual/religiouswell-being (RW). In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia, this study intends toinvestigate the relationship between religious coping, spiritual well-being, and family resilience. Methods: A cross-sectional survey (n = 242) was conducted from December 2021 to January 2022 inIndonesia. The Spiritual Coping Strategies Scale-Chinese version, Spiritual Well-Being Scale, and Family Resilience Assessment Scale were used for data collection. Smart Partial Least Square (SmartPLS)software (version 3.2.7) was used to analyze the data. Results: Most respondents aged range from 46 to 55 years-old (30.9%). Also, most of them were having senior high school educational level (47.7%), earn <3 million rupiah (90.5%), and jobless (66.7%). Family resilience to COVID-19 has been influenced by the relationship between RW and existential well‑being (EW) (81.2%) (β =0.901, t = 24,836, P = 0.001). Religious Non-coping (RNC)- Religious well-being(RW) is 0.124, which indicating that RNC affecting RW by 12.4%, and it also impacting on family resilience to COVID-19 (β= −0.310, t = 3.275, P = 0.001, f2 = 0.085; minor). Conclusion: Religious coping, RW, and EW areall important factors influencing family resilience during the COVID‑19 pandemic. Currently, the COVID-19 pandemic has ended. However, with the dynamic development of world health, an outbreakmay occur in the future, so the findings of this research will be helpful in providing a warning aboutspiritual factors that significantly influence family resilience

Correlation of risk factors for coronary heart disease in type-2 diabetes mellitus using the chi-square method

The male sex is taken into account a crucial risk issue for coronary heart disease (CHD) within the general population, however, studies on diabetic patients counsel that diabetic girls have a better risk of developing CHD. This study was to determine whether there is correlation between risk factors and the incidence of CHD in patients with type 2 DM. Furthermore, this work also investigates the mathematical model work in calculating the magnitude of the risk of variables against the tendency of CHD complications for patients with type 2 diabetes. This research utilizes current information on the setup of Dr. Soetomo Hospital's medical records in 2015-2016. Samples were all patients with type 2 diabetes with CHD and without CHD reported in the inpatient medical records of Dr. Soetomo Hospital Surabaya. Data processing was carried out using the chi-square test technique. As a result, the system is proof to calculate the worth of the chi-square and confirm the results of conditions on every variable. There is a distinction in price between the calculations of the chi-square on the system with the calculation of the manual chi-square test. This is often caused by taking variety of digits behind completely different commas (,). The variables of gender, age, GDA, GDP, GD2PP, triglycerides, HDL, weight, smoking, and length failed to have a significant relationship on the incidence of CHD in patients with sort two DM. Sterol variables and lipoprotein levels have a highly vital relationship within the incidence of CHD for patients with sort two polygenic disease
