    No full text
The festivals of Chinese New Year, Thaipusam and Hari Raya will be observed in the coming months. With the future generation in mind, we must optimise the opportunity to enjoy celebrations while also taking care of the planet. Let's not take for granted the various waste or carbon footprints we produce as well as the resources we consume. One way to do this is by embracing the principles of the circular economy. In layman's terms, a circular economy is a system that minimises waste and maximises resource use – it is all about making the most of what we already have

As the roles of pharmacists continue to expand, there is an urgent need for strategic workforce planning to ensure we have enough professionals to meet Malaysia’s growing health care demands. Moving beyond read-only ESG reports

While Malaysian companies are increasingly transparent about their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance, we are facing a critical, yet hidden, barrier to progress. The vast majority of this vital information is being published in formats designed for human eyes only— tatic, unstructured PDF documents. In an era where global capital markets are powered by Artificial Intelligence, this practice creates a state of “data chaos,” leaving Malaysian firms speaking an analogue language in a digital world

More men are becoming nurses, breaking gender norms and reshaping health care in the country. Nursing has long been regarded as a profession for women, and the situation is still very much the case in Malaysia. But even though history has denoted this fact, recent years have shown that there is a remarkable shift in this trend, with more men entering the nursing profession, thus breaking gender norms and reshaping health care in the country

“ALVIN – need your help. My friend and his wife are in denial about their six-year old daughter’s diagnosis of intellectual disability. They insist that she should still be placed in a mainstream school. I think that will not be good for her. What do I do to help them seek help?” I discussed this question recently with my clinical psychologist colleagues at a conference and they shared that parental acceptance of developmental disorder diagnoses is a common concern, especially when there is no outwardly sign (such as autism), compared to Down Syndrome, where the condition is physically obvious

In recent months, several countries in Asia experienced massive typhoon, flash flood, and extreme weather changes. As part of the mitigation of global environmental challenges, country leaders are seeking innovative strategies to balance economic growth with sustainability. Malaysia is among those making significant strides, particularly through its recent adoption of a Circular Economy Policy Framework. This initiative, introduced by the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry (MITI), marks a pivotal step in transitioning the country away from resource-intensive, fossil fuel-based economic models towards a more sustainable, circular economy
