Human capital accumulation, technological progress, and corporate financialization
This study selects data from listed companies between 2008 and 2022 as the research sample, delving into the interrelationships among human capital accumulation, technological progress, and corporate financialization. The empirical results indicate the following: First, human capital accumulation promotes corporate financialization. Second, technological progress also facilitates the process of corporate financialization. Moreover, technological progress serves as a mediating factor in the relationship between human capital accumulation and corporate financialization. Additionally, the impact of human capital accumulation on corporate financialization shows no significant difference between state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and private enterprises (PEs). Similarly, the effect of technological progress on corporate financialization does not exhibit notable differences between SOEs and PEs. Finally, the influence of human capital accumulation on corporate financialization demonstrates a scale threshold effect

Beyond borders: the transcendent effect of Korean celebrity credibility on brand perceptions among Malaysian youth - a necessary condition analysis
In recent decades, the Korean Wave has surged as a global cultural force, captivating audiences across diverse geographical, cultural and linguistic landscapes, particularly in Asia—including Malaysia. To contribute to knowledge on this dynamic cultural phenomenon, this paper introduces a new analytical approach known as necessary condition analysis (NCA). The study initially investigates how a celebrity's credibility, encompassing attributes such as attractiveness, expertise and trustworthiness, alongside consumer self-satisfaction, influences perceptions of the endorsed brand image. Furthermore, the research aims to pinpoint the essential factors shaping a celebrity's credibility and their impact on consumer perceptions. An online survey was conducted with 100 young Malaysian consumers, and their responses were examined using partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that credibility traits such as expertise and self-satisfaction significantly enhance perceptions of the endorsed brand. Additionally, NCA underscores the pivotal role of credibility traits (including expertise, trustworthiness and attractiveness) and self-satisfaction in shaping brand image. Notably, both self-satisfaction and expertise emerge as critical and substantial conditions influencing consumer perceptions. Conversely, whilst attractiveness and trustworthiness are not individually impactful on brand image, they are identified as necessary conditions for the outcomes. This study underscores the strategic importance of Korean celebrity endorsements in refining marketing and promotional strategies across diverse industries, leveraging the influential power of the Korean Wave in global consumer markets
Effect of catalyst synthesis of bimetallic nickel-cobalt supported iron-based catalysts on converting palm kernel oil into bio-jet fuel via deoxygenation reaction
Bimetallic nickel-cobalt supported magnetite catalyst has been synthesized using varies techniques such as hydrothermal reactor (R), wet-impregnation (W) and co-precipitation (C) approaches in order to study the effect of preparation methods on the catalytic efficiency of NiCo/Fe3O4 catalyst in transforming the PKO into bio-jet fuel via deoxygenation (DO) reaction. Noted, co-precipitation method rendered greater changes on textural morphological changes, with NiCo/Fe3O4 (C) specific surface area were 157 m2/g followed by Fe3O4 (25 m2/g), NiCo/Fe3O4 (W) (7 m2/g) and NiCo/Fe3O4 (R) (2 m2/g), respectively. Indeed, NiCo/Fe3O4 (C) showed highest weak + strong acidic sites (15,038.1 μmol/g). The efficiency of the DO followed NiCo/Fe3O4 (C) > NiCo/Fe3O4 (W) > NiCo/Fe3O4 (R) > Fe3O4, whereby the highest hydrocarbon yield was 90 % and 21 % is the lowest. Noteworthy to mention, all of the liquid product exhibited selectivity of over 90 % towards the kerosene range. The deoxygenation reaction was optimized using the most effective catalyst, NiCo/Fe3O4 (C) catalyst, through the OVAT technique. The results showed that the optimal conditions were achieved at a temperature of 350 °C within 3 h by using 5 wt% of catalyst loading. The reusability and stability of the NiCo/Fe3O4 (C) catalyst were examined, revealing that the catalyst may be reused for up to 8 runs. During these runs, the catalyst achieved a hydrocarbon yield of up to 55 % and a BJF selectivity of over 95 %. The decrease in the yield and selectivity was attributed to coking, specifically in the form of graphitic carbon
