Determination of the local geoid model in the area of Radovljica
At the transformation of the GNSS measured coordinates to the local coordinate system it’s necessary\ud
to convert heights from the ellipsoid system to heights above sea level (altitude), for what we need well\ud
defined geoid model. In this thesis I checked what is the derogation of national geoid model\ud
(SLOG2000) from the actual values on the area of Radovljica by interpolation of the local geoid\ud
undulation plane which represents actual values. Plane was interpolated over the points on which we\ud
conducted static GNSS survey for ellipsoid heights and leveling measurements for the above sea heights.\ud
Result analyze showed that average national geoid model derogation on the selected area is 10\ud
centimeters
Inception phase of construction project
The thesis describes the construction project in terms of investment. The documentation is collected\ud
for the design and concept phase. In addition to the aforementioned investment documentation there is\ud
the environmental and spatial documentation and implementation path for the construction project\ud
start. Construction project coordination is interlinked with management, i.e. connection of two\ud
disciplines – economics and construction – into construction management, which is credited for the\ud
successful launch of the project. This is followed by a list of participants in the construction process in\ud
the first phase of construction and their respective duties and responsibilities
Comparison of different drainage system in urban settlements
The bachelor's thesis provides a description and a comparison of three different wastewater drainage\ud
systems in urban settlements.\ud
The first part describes the dimensioning procedures and introduces factors, which influence the\ud
design of sewerage systems, for gravity, vacuum, and pressure systems. The sewerage systems are\ud
compared from an economic and technical point of view. The characteristics, advantages and\ud
disadvantages of each system are highlighted as well.\ud
The second part of the bachelor's thesis presents the calculation of costs for the gravity, vacuum, and\ud
pressure sewerage systems on the basis of simplified example. The calculation of costs includes the\ud
cost of excavation, the cost of material, the cost of filling in, and the cost of connection to the\ud
sewerage system. The conclusion focuses on exposing which of the systems is the most cost-effective
Safety analysis of the Vrhovo Dam
Safety of large dams is very important because their collapse represents a huge risk to the\ud
enviroment, infrastructure, industry, urban area, people and animals in the vicinity. My thesis\ud
focuses on safety analysis of large dam Vrhovo and safety of large dams in general. During\ud
examination of large dam Vrhovo I focused especially on the huge problem posed by spillways\ud
which are still not fully rebuilded. For this reason the depth of the pools is increasing directly\ud
beneath the dam. Currently it poses no threat but it would be necessary to rebuild spillways as\ud
soon as possible due to unforeseeable events in the future. Thesis also presents all legilisation\ud
which covers area of dam engineering in Slovenia. Thesis describes problems that should be\ud
regulated by unifying legislation which is currently scattered in different areas or doesn't even\ud
exist. If legislation is unified it would certainly help improve the safety of large dams in Slovenia
Moste - Završnica dam system safety analysis
The Moste-Završnica dam system along with the adjoining reservoir and its ability of rapid\ud
integration into the electrical power system provides a large part of the necessary reserve\ud
power; however, by keeping large amounts of water behind the dam, it presents a significant\ud
risk for the downstream area.\ud
The first part of the thesis presents the current status of the water potential available in\ud
Slovenia, a short overview of the literature on the topic of ensuring dam safety, and the laws\ud
on dam engineering. It also offers some insight into the history and the technical\ud
characteristics of the HPP Moste and HPP Završnica dams.\ud
The second part of the thesis explains the VOPREG methodology and the collapse risk\ud
assessment based on the said methodology. The risk assessment of the HPP Moste and\ud
HPP Završnica along with their influence on the population and environment has been\ud
established with the help of the record sheets created as part of the VOPREG project,\ud
consultation visits at the Savske elektrarne Ljubljana d.o.o. headquarters in Medvode, the\ud
acquisition of the required documents, and the in situ observations of both dams. The\ud
obtained information led to the conclusion that the dams present a high risk, which can be\ud
regulated with proper management and maintenance, and can thus ensure a high degree of\ud
security for these facilities
Design of five story office building with emphasis on seismic design
This graduation thesis deals with the static analysis and design of five story office building with focus\ud
on sesmic resistance. The main structure consist of four moment resisting frames with 10 m span\ud
between the columns, with overall lenght and width of 30,0 m and height of 18,8 m. The longitudinal\ud
stiffes is provided through moment resisting frames in one direction and concentric bracings in the\ud
other direction. Floors are designed as composite slabs that are supported by secondary beams which\ud
are connected to primary beams and columns of moment frames.\ud
The second order analysis with initial global imperfections was performed to determine internal fores\ud
in the structural elements. Analysis were made using SCIA Engineer software. All loads were\ud
determined according to Slovenian standard SIST EN 1991.\ud
Seismic analysis was made using simplified horizontal forces method. The structure is designed\ud
according to rules for high ductility class
Flash floods
The thesis presents flash floods phenomenon and the differences between flash floods and\ud
other types of floods. Flooding is usually caused by intense or long-lasting rainfall event.\ud
These kinds of events are more often in the last years and climate changes could cause\ud
even more natural disasters.\ud
Flash floods are quite known phenomenon in Slovenia which is situated in many upper parts\ud
of river basins. Flash floods and erosion are most common in northwestern hilly landscape of\ud
Slovenia where is also measured the biggest amount of annual precipitation.\ud
Flash floods are often accompanied by landslides, erosion, mud and debris flows. These\ud
processes can cause even bigger damage than just flash flood only. Because of a rapid and\ud
short-term event of flash flooding is quality forecast very important to reduce the damage.\ud
Quality forecast depends on several different factors which all should be considered. In the\ud
last years is popular use of remote sensing systems for more accurate flood forecasts.\ud
The thesis also presents different types of flood protection which are used to reduce the\ud
damage caused by flash flooding. With flood protection such as appropriate statutory\ud
regulations for building on zones at high risk of flooding, a higher number of rain-gauges,\ud
weather radars, satellite systems and quality structural measures we can achieve faster and\ud
more accurate flood forecasts and measures in time
Processing of old cadastral surveying data for improvement of land cadastre index map
The main purpose of this graduation thesis is the analysis and reconstruction of old cadastral surveying\ud
documentation for improvement of land cadastre index maps for the study area in the city municipality\ud
of Novo mesto. In this graduation thesis we were dealing with the cadastral municipality Črešnjice.\ud
Theoretical part includes historical review of development of land cadastre in Slovenia and legal\ud
setting from beginning up today. In the continuation, there is reconstruction of cadastral surveying\ud
documents, analyses of formation of cadastral surveying documents, used measuring tool and\ud
methods. The input data for the analysis were obtained at the Archive of the Republic of Slovenia and\ud
regional office of The surveying and mapping authority in Novo mesto. The results represent\ud
comparison of reconstruct cadastral surveying documentation with current land cadastral index map\ud
and usability of cadastral surveying documentation for quality improvement of the land cadastre index\ud
map
The analysis of archive land cadastral materials in the areas of French cadastral surveying
The diploma thesis addresses and presents existing archival material concerning French\ud
measurements in Slovenia which we obtained in The Archive of the Republic of Slovenia (Arhiv\ud
Republike Slovenije). In the theoretical part of the research we presented the land cadastres\ud
in the region before the French measurements and development of the French land surveying\ud
in Europe and in Slovenia. In the research part of the diploma thesis we concentrated on\ud
description and presentation of this land surveying in Slovenia, which took place in the period\ud
of Illyrian provinces in the beginning of the 19th century. We presented the most interesting\ud
facts and features of the French cadastre. In the end we compared the archival material of the\ud
French cadastre with the Franciscan cadastre, which appeared soon after the French cadastre\ud
and in many areas it replaced the French cadastre
Using GNSS to determine the boundaries of land use for the comparison with data from orthophoto
In the graduation thesis the boundaries of land use and land cover have been determined\ud
first by terrain work and second by data acquisition from GIS spatial data layers. The aim\ud
was to determine the difference in the interpretation of the results acquired from different\ud
methodologies of spatial data acquisition. For this purpose we have chosen the test area,\ud
which included various types of land cover. We used GNSS method to determine the position\ud
of the characteristic points of the boundaries between the areas of different types of land\ud
cover. The same points were identified on the last recent national orthophoto. Finally, results\ud
were compared with land use records data from the Ministry of the agriculture, forestry and\ud
food
