Bose-Einstein correlations at LHCb
LHCb detector, considered as a general purpose detector in the forward rapidity region (2 <η<5), has a potential to investigate the quantum interference effects at large rapidities and low transverse momenta. The results on the
Bose-Einstein correlations of same-sign charged pions are summarized, being measured in proton-proton collisions at √s = 7 TeV centre-of-mass energy and proton-lead collisions at a nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass energy of √ sNN = 5.02TeV.Both measurements are the first of this type performed in the forward region at LHC energies. Correlation parameters are determined for different regions of charged-particle multiplicity, which behaviour is consistent with observations from other experiments at the LHC in the central rapidity region. The measured correlation radii scale linearly with the cube root of the charged-particle multiplicity, being compatible with predictions based on the hydrodynamic models. The hints for a dependence of the
correlation radius on pseudorapidity may also be observed
Two-particle Bose-Einstein correlations and their Lévy parameters in PbPb collisions at 5.02 TeV
In these proceedings we discuss the measurement of Bose-Einstein momentum correlation function of pairs of charged hadrons in PbPb collisions at √s NN = 5.02 TeV. We describe the measured correlations with correlation functions
derived from L´evy type source distributions. Using a transverse momentum and centrality binning, we extract the correlation strength parameter λ, Lèvy index α and Lèvy scale parameter R as a function of pair transverse mass mT, for various centralities
The Pixelation strategy for the FARCOS array
A novel pixelation method for the double sided silicon strip detectors of the FARCOS array has been developed and tested with the data collected at INFN-LNS laboratory. The reconstruction of two and three alpha particles coincidence events is shown. The need to use the detection time of each signal to clean the events from noise and spurious coincidences is underlined. The method is able also to reconstruct interstrip events and to exclude the degradation of the resolution generated by events interacting near the guard ring. The energy resolution of well reconstructed interstrip events was evaluated by looking at two alpha particles coincidences
Dynamics of cluster production in Xe+Sn collisions between 65 and 150 MeV/nucleon
Characterization of the participant zone (PZ) in the
129,124Xe+112,124Sn reaction at the energy range 65–150 MeV/nucleon reveals copious cluster production. A detailed study of the chemical composition as a function of the impact parameter shows that heavier clusters (6He, 6−8Li, 7−10Be,...)are most likely produced for central collisions. A hierarchy of the cluster production with the neutron richness of the total system is observed, suggesting a full mixing of the projectile and target in the PZ. An estimate of the maximum density in central collisions has been deduced from the kinetic energy of the emitted fragments,
reaching almost 2 times the normal density (2ρ0) at 150 MeV/nucleon
First results on characterization of a silicon carbide dosimeter in the framework of SAMOTHRACE ecosystem
Silicon carbide (SiC) detectors recently received an increased interest in the scientific community for their application in several fields such as medical one and nuclear physics. In this context, a part of the SAMOTHRACE (Sicilian Micro and Nano Technology Research and Innovation Center) project aims at developing silicon carbide detectors to be used as dosimeter, micro-dosimeter and beam monitor.
In this contribution, the first results on the characterization of two types of SiC detectors will be presented: the devices have an active area of thickness of 10μm and 100μm, respectively
Padri, madri, figli.
figli generati in questi contesti

Flavour physics phenomenology in view of future experiments
In this proceeding I will review the current advancements in flavour physics phenomenology, by focusing on key tree-level and loop-level processes in the quark sector. I will discuss semi-leptonic processes related to b → c quark transitions, unitarity in the first row of the CKM matrix, b → s quark transitions as well as rare kaon decays, showing in each case possible developments for the future
New strategies for seismic attenuation at low frequency for third generation gravitational waves detectors
Gravitational waves have revolutionised the way we study the
Universe. The second-generation interferometers, LIGO, Virgo and KAGRA, are preparing for the next observational campaigns, while the future third-generation interferometers, Einstein Telescope and Cosmic Explorer, are expected to increase the sensitivity by an order of magnitude. In particular, improved low-frequency sensitivity is essential for detecting high-mass systems that allow to explore the Universe at high redshift, i.e., before the formation of the first stars. Furthermore, good low-frequency sensitivity allows for better source localisation, effective prealerts for electromagnetic follow-up campaigns, and the detection of expected (but yet to be observed) gravitational waves emitted by sources such as rotating pulsars. In this proceeding, we will present ongoing experimental studies on new mechanical prototypes to address the low-frequency seismic noise attenuation
