Since the end of February 2020 covid-19 pandemics has provoked a state of
exception all over the world. The adoption of massive measures for the containment
of the infections is having a strong impact in all the societal sectors,
including school closures. School closures have led to the restructuring of
teaching and learning in the mode of digital distance education.
The contribution presents the Italian government policies and their implementation
in practice by focusing on students with a migrant background.
Educational poverty, the lack of devices and broadband connections, the
inappropriateness of the home spaces, the linguistic and technical difficulties
have enhanced and can likely reinforce the inequality of the educational
opportunities and the social distances, already determined by the starting
socio-cultural differences. Despite the risk of a setback in the policy of social
inclusion, the contribution will underline the lack of empirical knowledge
that analyses the situated condition of students with a migrant background:
an absence that could slow down the refinement of the educational policies
towards this student target

British Police Legitimacy in a Postmodern World
This paper will start by examining the postmodern socio-political global context and structure in which the British police play their role. Then, the focus will turn to the pre-conditions that led to a trend of loss of public legitimacy. While exploring the “golden age” in which the police assumed a sacred role and achieved high levels of trust and legitimacy, it will be pointed out that a diffused public legitimacy was favored more by the economic and political conditions and structures of the 1950s than by a particular attitude of the police. The loss of the traditional role and of a precise police identity will also be contextualized and linked with the growth of private security providers. Lastly, proposals toward a more democratic and legitimate police will be made
This article reviews a survey of a sample of 1,829 cases of extra-family sexual assaults. The study investigates the modus operandi of sexual abusers of elderly victims. The comparison between sexual offences committed against elderly victims and sexual offences committed against adult victims is based on the criminal event approach. There are several differences between the two modi operandi. The results indicate that the pre-crime phase is the most important to explain these differences. This phase of the criminal event, in fact, influences the decisions related to the crime phase and the post-crime phase. In particular, sexual offences against the elderly are more violent and occur more often in the victim’s home. The examined study indicates that the perpetrators of this type of crime use specific criminal methods. This research, therefore, may have practical implications in terms of prevention and investigation

Acute Pericarditis and Cardiac Tamponade in a Patient with COVID-19: A Therapeutic Challenge
We report a case of acute viral pericarditis and cardiac tamponade in a patient with COVID-19 to highlight the associated treatment challenges, especially given the uncertainty associated with the safety of standard treatment. We also discuss complications associated with delayed diagnosis in patients who potentially may need mechanical ventilation
Effectiveness of Tocilizumab in a COVID-19 Patient with Cytokine Release Syndrome
Cytokine release syndrome (CRS) is a systemic inflammatory response that can be triggered by many factors such as infections. CRS in patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is life-threatening and can occur very rapidly after COVID-19 diagnosis. Tocilizumab (TCZ), an interleukin-6 (IL-6) inhibitor, may ameliorate the CRS associated with severe COVID-19 and thus improve clinical outcomes. We present a case of life-threatening CRS caused by COVID-19 infection successfully treated with TCZ
Exuberant Hand-Foot-Mouth Disease: An Immunocompetent Adult with Atypical Findings
Non-polio enteroviruses are ubiquitous viruses responsible for a wide spectrum of disease in people of all ages, although infection and illness disproportionately affect infants and young children. Hand-foot-mouth disease (HFMD) is an enteroviral clinical syndrome most frequently caused by coxsackievirus-A16 and enterovirus-A71. Since 2008, a novel coxsackievirus-A6 genotype has been associated with more severe HFMD in both children and adults, presenting with a unique constellation of findings, and whose prevalence has been increasing over the last few years. In this case report, an atypical clinical picture of confirmed enterovirus HFMD is described in an immunocompetent adult, with exuberant clinical findings, clinically consistent with coxsackievirus-A6 infection. This case report highlights the importance of awareness of the clinical presentation of this increasingly common infection in adult
Interprofessional Management of Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome (Dunbar Syndrome) Related to Lumbar Lordosis and Hip Dysplasia: A Patient’s Perspective
We present a 53-year-old female patient with median arcuate ligament syndrome (MALS), also known as Dunbar syndrome or celiac artery compression syndrome, related to lumbar lordosis and hip dysplasia. She utilized interprofessional management strategies, which were beneficial in reducing lumbar lordosis and MALS-related symptoms. This finding is important because there are no other reports in the literature describing interprofessional strategies to manage symptoms for patients who are waiting for surgery or are not candidates for surgery
