Electric dipole strength functions of Lambda hypernuclei obtained by the time-dependent mean-field calculation
We investigate the electric dipole (E1) resonance states of Λ hyper- nucleus using a time-dependent mean-field model. The model is the canonical-basis time-dependent Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov theory (Cb-TDHFB) with Skyrme-type effective interaction and smoothed constant pairing interaction. The linear response calculation with Cb-TDHFB is performed in the three-dimensional Cartesian co- ordinate space to treat deformed nuclei. We report the E1 strength functions of carbon isotopes and discuss the influences of a Λ particle on the ground states and the excited states of the hypernuclei
Extra yield in hot Ni isotopes below the Giant Dipole Resonance
The high-energy γ-rays from the GDR decay of 56,60,62Ni∗ nuclei at finite temperature, produced in the reactions 32,34,36S + 24,26Mg at bombarding energies between 78 and 90 MeV, were measured and analyzed with statistical model using a Monte Carlo approach. It is found that the present analysis gives some evidence on the presence of an extra yield on the tail of the Giant Dipole Resonance which may be attributed to a Pygmy Dipole Resonance in an excited nucleus
Dipole excitations in open shell nuclides near the neutron threshold energy from (γ,γ′) experiments: The case of Ge isotopes
The dipole response of the open-shell nuclide 70Ge has been inves- ′
tigated in high-resolution (γ,γ ) experiments using bremsstrahlung produced with electron beams of energies of 8.5 and 14.7 MeV at the linear accelerator ELBE. A resonance-like structure of levels mostly with spin J = 1 has been identified, dis- tributed between 5 MeV up to neutron separation energy Sn as in the case of 76Ge and in contast to 74Ge where the level density is lower and ceases abruptly at about 1 MeV below Sn. The distibution strength was complemented by the unresolved levels using simulations of statistical γ-ray cascades, corrected by estimations of branching transitions. The summed strength in 70Ge, completed by the data from 74,76Ge do not fit with a linear trend as function of the neutron excess. Such unex- pected behaviour might be related to the nuclear deformation which seems to play the major role in the moderately deformed Germanium isotopic chain
Latest results on NArCoS: A new correlator for neutrons and charged particles with high angular and energy resolution (Neutron Array for Correlation Studies)
An overview concerning the electronic frontend and readout system for the prototype of the neutron correlator NArCoS is reported. The proposed prototype of electronic is designed for the next source and beam commissioning experiments
New theory highlights on Bc decays
We present recent results in semileptonic and non-leptonic exclusive Bc decays to charmonium states both in S-wave, J/ψ and ηc, and in P-wave, χcJ and hc. The analysis, based on the heavy quark spin symmetry (HQSS), produces relations among form factors that parametrize the hadronic matrix elements in the amplitudes of the decays. These relations are helpful to control the hadronic uncer- tainty affecting these processes. Furthermore, Bc decays allow us to get hint on the structure of states like χc1(3872), whose exotic or ordinary charmonium nature is debated
Status of CP violation searches in beauty hadron decays at LHCb
In this document, we will present two recent results from the LHCb
Collaboration on the topic of CP violation in beauty-hadron decays: the measurement of the weak phase 0sss s in B0s —> 00 decays and a study of CP violation in B # —> [K+K− T+T- ]Dh# and B# —> [T+T- T+T-]Dh# decays. Then, anticipations on two ongoing analyses by LHCb will be given, in particular regarding time-dependent CP violation in B0 (s) —> h+ h^ - decays and the measurement of integrated CP asymmetries in baryonic A0b —> ph- decays
#BiodiversityFestivalOnTheRoad
For years the qualified personnel, technicians, technologists and researchers of CNR-IAS – Detached Unit of Capo Granitola have been promoting the value of scientific dissemination by pursuing the third mission of Research Institutions through the direct application, valorization and use of knowledge. The scientific team works with professionalism and dedication, revealing the passion that supports them in their work, welcoming schools of all levels on daily visits or by activating PCTO (Paths for Transversal Skills and Orientation) promoting the choice of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) disciplines as a University choice.
In SPOKE 7, the #BiodiversityFestivalontheroad activity falls within the BIODIVERSITY AND SOCIETY - Communication, education and social impact section and has the objective of communicating and enhancing scientific research by actively involving stakeholders using an integrated communication strategy, in which the activities of scientific research are promoted through direct contact between science and society in a space well embedded in the territory and culture
Design and realization of high-gradient C-band standing wave RF gun
To generate ultra-high brightness electron beams it is highly advantageous to use injectors based on Radio frequency photo-guns with very high cathode peak electric field. The current state of the art is the S-band (3GHz) that allows to obtain cathode field at the level of 100MV/m. To overcome the limits of this operating frequency a promising approach is to realize RF guns working at the C-band frequency (5712MHz). In the context of the European I.FAST Project and INFN Commission V, a new C-band RF gun has been designed and realized at the INFN laboratories of Frascati. This RF gun has been fabricated with the brazing-free technology developed at the INFN and already applied to other electron sources. In this paper we present the design, the realization and the first tests performed on this prototype
