Penjanaan Dana Sumber Am Baitulmal Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan
Relationship Among Ceo Characteristics, Concentrated Ownership And Earnings Management: The Case Of Jordanian Companies
In recent years, the issue of earnings management has garnered significant attention from researchers and academics due to its consequences on the quality of financial reports and its impact on investors' decision-making. This study aims to provide evidence on the influence of COVID-19, CEO characteristics, and ownership concentration on two forms of earnings management (EM), namely accruals-based earnings management (AEM) and real earnings management (REM) in Jordan. Additionally, the study explores the role of ownership concentration (family and foreign ownership) as a moderating variable in the relationship between CEO characteristics and earnings management. The study sample included all service and industrial companies listed on the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) after the update of the Jordanian Corporate Governance Code (JCGC) 2017, covering the period from 2017 to 2021. The theoretical basis for understanding this relationship draws upon the agency, upper-echelons theories and the entrenchment and alignment effects. The hypotheses were tested using the feasible generalized least squares (FGLS) method to address heteroskedasticity and autocorrelation issues, as it provides a suitable approach for controlling these problems in the analysis. The results reveal a negative relationship between COVID-19, CEO tenure, and AEM practices in Jordanian companies. A negative relationship exists between CEO non-duality, CEO age, and REM practices. However, the study uncovers a positive relationship between CEO gender, CEO experience, CEO age, and AEM
Overexpression Of Mirna-975 Induced Immune Genes And Abnormal Spermatogenesis In Drosophila Melanogaster
Homeostasis is the measure of an organism’s evolutionary adaptation. Any oddities to the organism’s phenotype signal a system at disarray, with the full force of immune systems in response. When mir-975 was overexpressed, the apical tip of the d. Melanogaster’s testis was bulged, mirroring a tumour-like appearance, suggesting its homeostasis were ‘knocked off’ balance. Thence, the associations between mir-975, spermatogenesis and its innate immunity is to be investigated in this manuscript. To understand the bulged phenotype of the testis’s apical tip, the developmental stages of spermatogenesis had to be characterised, from the onset till late spermatocyte stage, whilst mir-975’s transcriptomics identifies which of the immune genes were in response to the said imbalanced homeostasis. To characterise the spermatogenesis of the bulged testis, antibodies complimentary to the aforesaid stages, matched to its appropriate markers each were incubated with dissected testes from control (actin5c-gal4 > oregon r) and transgenic progenies (actin5c-gal4 > uas-mir-975) respectively, using confocal microscopy. On the other hand, to elucidate the transcriptomics’ data, genes that were upregulated were singled out and validated using qpcr. The bulges apical tips were found to have shorter transit amplification (ta), more of coilin-positive (spermatocyte) cells’ number, and fewer elongating spermatids. Upregulated immune genes were validated as per suggested by the transcriptomics. The research models proposed to discuss the bulged apical tips are early differentiations, cell competition, rogue asymmetrical cell division, apoptosis aversion, and meiosis entry defects
Spatial Behavior Of Informal Street Vendors In Formal Spaces: Case Study Of Tegallega Park, Bandung Indonesia
The bandung city government issued a policy allowing street vendors to conduct their activities in public spaces in 2011. The problem is that urban public spaces designed with a formal approach do not have a space to accommodate the informal activities of street vendors. Street vendors' space use causes issues. Knowing and understanding the needs of street vendors is crucial to designing a space that will facilitate their activities. Street vendors' activities in public spaces like city parks are still understudied, especially the relationship between park spaces and street vendor activities. This happens in bandung's tegallega park. This study examines the city government's regulations and actions on street vendors, other factors that affect street vendors' activities, and the impact of street vendors' activities on space and other park users in tegallega park. This study uses qualitative descriptive and behavioural mapping methods. Literature studies of regulatory documents and city government actions, mapping and documentation of activities and spaces, and visual observation of street vendors and other park users' behavior provided data. The results showed a relationship between the regulations and actions of the city government, the type of business and equipment used by street vendors, and the form, building elements, and materials of the space for street vendors’ activities. In addition, street vendors’ activity causes changes in the function and quality of space and the behaviour of other park users using various spaces
Polyhydroxyalkanoates Production By Cupriavidus Necator Transformants Harboring Polyhydroxyalkanoate Synthase Of Chromobacterium Sp. Usm2 (Phaccs) And Its Potential Application For Lipase Assay Kit
Polyhydroxyalkanoates (phas) are biopolyesters produced by microorganisms as carbon storage in the presence of abundant carbon sources and the limitation of growth nutrients. Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-4-hydroxybutyrate) [p(3hb-co-4hb)] has been used for industrial applications, including packaging, biodegradable plastics, medical devices, and biomedical applications, owing to its biodegradability properties. Chromobacterium sp. Usm2 was isolated in langkawi, malaysia, and was able to accumulate pha. Pha synthase of chromobacterium sp. Usm2 (phaccs) was able to polymerize various monomers such as 3-hydroxybutyrate (3hb), 3-hydroxyvalerate (3hv), and 3-hydroxyhexanoate (3hhx) from carbon sources or precursors due to its broad substrate specificity. To date, there is no report on the potential of phaccs to produce p(3hb-co-4hb) copolymer. In this study, a series of optimization tests and pha biosynthesis were performed to investigate the potential of the heterologous expression of phaccs in c. Necator transformants to produce p(3hb-co-4hb) using 4hb-structurally related precursors such as 1,6-hexanediol, 1,4-butanediol, γ-butyrolactone, and sodium 4-hydroxybutyrate. The polymers obtained were then further characterized to determine their monomer compositions, thermal properties, and lipase depolymerizing activity
The Volatility Of Return Of Malaysian Crude Palm Oil Futuresand Its Response On Trading Volume And Open Interes
This study aims to examine the relationships between transformational leadership, team innovation climate, team reflexivity, psychological capital, environmental dynamism, and employee creativity within the context of the covid-19 pandemic-induced turbulent business environment. This study collected data from 406 individuals and 618 team-level individuals in chinese small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises. The statistical analysis was conducted using spss 26 and mplus 8. A total of 16 hypotheses in this study investigated the influence of transformational leadership on employee creativity. Firstly, transformational leadership has a significant positive relationship with employee creativity. Secondly, the relationship between transformational leadership and employee creativity is mediated by three factors: team innovation climate, team reflexivity, and psychological capital. The results of this study also indicate that environmental dynamism moderates the relationship between transformational leadership and psychological capital, thereby strengthening the positive association between these variables
The Moderating Effects Of Environmental Awareness And Environmental Motivation On The Relationship Between Reward-Based Gamification And Pro-Environmental Behaviour: A Case Of Alipay’S Ant Forest
In order to cope with the environmental issues caused by rapid economic development, an environmental game called ant forest, developed by alipay, is used to advocate green awareness in china. The game mechanism of ant forest allows users to transform rewards into real trees. This study applied the stimulus-organism-response (s-o-r) theory as the theoretical foundation, analysed the direct relationships between gamified reward, perceived persuasiveness and pro-environmental behaviour (peb), and analysed the effect of environmental awareness and motivation as moderating variables. The study uses the explanatory sequential mixed methods to achieve the study objectives. In the first phase, 621 ant forest users participated in the survey through online questionnaires and this resulted in quantitative analysis results. In the second phase, the researcher selected 12 participants from the first phase to interview them face-to-face. The survey results show that reward-based gamification can be used as a very effective stimulating method to promote users’ peb. The stimulus work primarily through ant forest’s perceived persuasiveness on users. The more important finding of this study is that it proved the moderating effect of environmental awareness on the relationship between perceived persuasiveness and peb, while environmental motivation does not show the moderating effect
Impact Of Social Media On Wellbeing Of Elderly Using Stressor-Strainoutcome Model
National statistics department, malaysia reported malaysia’s population aged
60 years and above are increasing over the years from 5.2% in 1970 to estimated 15
% in 2035. Due to this increase, the influence of social media usage like facebook or
whatsapp towards the elderly is becoming more significant. From the literature, it
clearly highlights the benefits gained from using internet, particularly social media, by
elderly and how this positively impacting their subjective wellbeing (swb). However,
there is limited literature with almost no data on what happen when elderly feel
exhausted with social media usage and how it is negatively impacting their swb.
Hence, this study addressed the gap in existing literature by examining the precursors
of social media fatigue and its relationship with passive social media usage. To achieve
these objectives, a conceptual model based on stressor-strain-outcome (sso) is
developed to explain these relationships. The study further investigated the impact of
sso on the swb of the elderly to understand whether social media usage increase or
decrease their swb. Purposive sampling method was used in this study to randomly
select elder adults aged 60 years and above with social media such as facebook or
whatsapp. Self-administered questionnaires were used for gathering data from the
respondents. Multiple methods of data collection were employed, whereby some
questionnaires were mailed to the respondents, some were personally administered
because the sample consist of elder adults. This study used the partial least squares
(pls) and structural equation modelling (sem) tool to examine the identified
constructs and their relationships between one another
Professional identity among Pakistani aviation medicine specialists in KSA: a qualitative study
Although the military and commercial aviation industries are relatively new, they have experienced significant innovations and developments. The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) maintains one of the largest air forces globally, with aviation specialists performing demanding operational commitments and deployments around the clock. Aviation medicine specialists, also known as flight surgeons, play a crucial role in the health and well-being of PAF aircrew and technical ground crew, ensuring their flying fitness. However, to date, no study has examined the professional identity of flight surgeons in Pakistan's aviation sector. This study explores the professional identity of Pakistani Aviation Medicine Specialists in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. A qualitative design was employed, with thematic analysis as the selected method for analysis. Pakistan Air Force male flight surgeons with a minimum of five years of experience in the field were recruited. The study included 13 participants, selected through purposive sampling. Participants provided consent after reviewing an information sheet that described the study. Four main themes emerged which are, 1) professional identity in aviation medicine, 2) qualities of a good aviation medicine specialist, 3) becoming a successful aviation medicine specialist, and 4) professionalism and willingness. Interviews with experienced flight surgeons were analyzed to understand their professional identity. Each subtheme was discussed in relation to the doctors' experiences. The thematic analysis clarifies a heterogeneous landscape characterized by dynamic obstacles and specific requirements in the field of aviation medicine. The identified themes highlight the unique needs of the military aviation sector, emphasizing the importance of evidence-based approaches, collaborative methods, and a commitment to continuous learning.
