Investigation of peak ground acceleration on the Kuala Penyu fault and its influence on the Malaysia national annex
This study investigates the peak ground acceleration (PGA) using probabilistic seismic hazard assessment (PSHA) in Kuala Penyu, Sabah. The data from four earthquake events and mud volcano activity in four highly active areas in the region provided the basis for this in-depth study. The PSHA considered parameters such as earthquake data, source modeling, ground motion model (GMM), maximum magnitudes, and logic trees. The evaluations performed in this study were based on three objectives. The first objective is to update the available earthquake catalog around the Sabah region. The second objective is to characterize the seismic source model by determining seismic hazard parameters, including selecting a suitable GMM and identifying the maximum magnitudes. Finally, the third objective is to conduct a PSHA to calculate hazard estimates in terms of PGA. The PGA for Kuala Penyu, Sabah, was measured at 0.106 g, an increase of 430% when considering the Kuala Penyu fault source in the analysis. Based on this significant change, more in-depth studies are needed, particularly in low-seismicity regions with active fault movements, to enhance seismic analysis. This effort could provide better insights into source modeling for seismic hazard assessments in the region
A concept paper on readiness in artificial intelligence (AI) mastery and its impact on 21st century pedagogy among pre-service history teachers
This concept paper investigates the readiness of pre-service History teachers to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into secondary school education, in response to the increasing influence of advanced technologies in contemporary pedagogy. Anchored in Vygotsky’s Constructivist Theory and the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework, the study aims to explore the gap between teachers’ awareness of AI and their practical and ethical preparedness to implement AI tools in the 21st century pedagogy classroom. Employing a mixed-methods design, the proposed study will gather quantitative data through structured questionnaires administered to 100 teacher trainees and qualitative insights via in-depth interviews with 20 selected participants. Preliminary observations suggest that while awareness of AI is relatively high among pre-service teachers, there is limited understanding of its pedagogical applications and ethical implications. Key barriers include insufficient training, limited access to digital infrastructure, and lack of institutional support, alongside concerns about data privacy and algorithmic bias. Despite these limitations, pre-service teachers express a strong interest in the potential of AI to enhance differentiated instruction, automate administrative tasks, and improve student engagement. This paper advocates for comprehensive reform in teacher education, emphasizing the integration of experiential AI training, faculty upskilling, equitable technological access, and digital ethics instruction. By addressing these areas, teacher preparation programs can cultivate educators who are not only technologically adept but also ethically informed and pedagogically innovative. The findings from this proposed study aim to contribute to ongoing discourse on equipping future teachers to navigate and lead in AI-augmented educational environments

Legume-based green concentrate alleviates negative energy balance and enhances performance, metabolic health, and profitability in postpartum Holstein Friesian cows
Negative energy balance (NEB) is a common metabolic disorder in postpartum dairy cows that compromises milk yield, metabolic health, and reproductive function. Sustainable nutritional interventions are essential to mitigate NEB without increasing production costs. This study evaluated the effect of a legume-based green concentrate (GC) containing Gliricidia sepium and Indigofera zollingeriana on performance, hormonal profiles, and beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) levels in Holstein Friesian (HF) cows experiencing NEB. : Eighteen postpartum HF cows diagnosed with NEB (BHB > 1.5 mmol/L) were randomly assigned to one of three treatment groups (n = 6): Commercial concentrate (CON), GC with 20% legume inclusion (GC20), and GC with 30% legume inclusion (GC30). All cows received concentrate at 3% body weight (dry matter basis) alongside elephant grass for 60 days postpartum. Parameters evaluated included milk yield, feed intake, feed conversion efficiency (FCE), body condition score, daily profit, milk composition, and concentrations of BHB, insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1), estrogen, and prolactin. GC30 significantly improved milk yield (15.88 kg/d), FCE (1.10), and daily profit (United States Dollars 10.99/d), while reducing feed costs and BHB levels in blood (0.91 mmol/L) and milk (0.43 mmol/L) compared to CON (p < 0.05). GC30 also elevated IGF-1 (50.27 ng/mL) and estrogen (104.36 ng/mL), indicating enhanced reproductive readiness. In vitro digestibility and rumen fermentation metrics were also superior in GC-supplemented diets, particularly GC30. No adverse effects were observed on prolactin levels or milk protein and lactose content. Feeding GC, especially GC30, effectively mitigates NEB, enhances productivity, improves hormonal balance, and increases economic returns in postpartum HF cows. This sustainable and cost-effective feeding strategy is suitable for smallholder farmers and supports animal welfare and farm profitability. Future research should explore the effects of long-term GC supplementation and its environmental implications
A data mining approach to documenting global floating building projects: Design trends, material and structural systems
Floating architecture has emerged as a viable response to urbanization, climate change, and increasing sea levels. The absence of a centralized database cataloguing constructed floating buildings globally impedes thorough research and practical implementation. This paper aims to systematically gather, analyses, and categories data on floating building globally using the method of web mining and data mining techniques to collect data. The Arch daily website was the primary source for web mining, employing 'floating architecture' as the main term for the extraction process in 143 countries globally, focusing on the construction of floating buildings from 2000 to 2025. The item studied include and classify into Continent, Nation, year of project completion, building Category, average floor area, structure and materials. Key statistics reveal that Europe leads in floating construction, accounting for 53.1% (34 structures) of the worldwide total. The Netherlands is the most engaged nation, donating 15% (9 buildings), followed by the United States (10%, 6 buildings) and Germany, Thailand, and Ecuador (6.7% each, 4 buildings). Completion records reveal a peak in 2021, with eight structures erected. Small residences constitute 53.3% (16 units), whereas places of assembly account for 36.7% (11 units). All constructions use pontoons as their foundational supports. Plastic (48%) and concrete (33%) are the primary materials, together comprising 81% of occurrences. This study establishes a foundational dataset for future research, providing essential information regarding the development, regional patterns, and technological inclinations of floating architecture. The findings underscore the potential of pontoon-supported structures and highlight material enhancements as a vital area for future development in this emerging field
Factors influencing the media literacy on community health behaviors practices in Kota Belud Sabah Malaysia
The perceived importance of media literacy in health discussions has increased significantly. The critical understanding of information is crucial to this role as it has the potential to impact people’s overall well-being and shape individual and societal behaviors. Media literacy involves the ability to access, understand, interpret, and apply information conveyed through various media for the betterment of individuals and communities. These behaviors include regular handwashing, mask-wearing, maintaining physical distance, and following recommended health guidelines. The findings show that public comprehension, practical application, and information transmission help match health behaviors with changing social norms
The novelty of complementarity between trans regionalism and new bilateralism: Southeast Asia–middle east affairs
Trans regionalism entails non-institutional, flexible cooperation across regions, contrasting with the more structured, rule-based approach of interracialism. New bilateralism, which emerged after the Cold War, extends beyond economic governance to incorporate strategic, security, and cultural interactions, bypassing institutional constraints. This research aims to clarify the conceptual and practical complementarity of these two concepts and their significance in Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian interactions. Both regions possess dynamic actors, including Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore, yet the distribution of intra-regional power remains uneven. Additionally, the regional organizations in both regions lack strong institutional frameworks. The study highlights that despite weak regional organizations and the uneven capabilities among intra-regional actors, trans regionalism with new bilateralism offers effective platforms for region-to-region cooperation. These eclectic arrangements favor flexibility over institutionalization, enabling small and middle powers to engage in issue-specific collaborations free from the dominance of great powers while also incorporating non-state actors. This conceptual and practical nexus is particularly pertinent in today's global political landscape, where formal institutions often fall short, and agile, ad-hoc arrangements are better suited to addressing the complexities of international relations

Enhancing purchase intention in e-commerce live streaming: The moderating role of narrative transportation
Live streaming commerce has emerged as a dominant force in China's e-commerce landscape, driven by its immersive and interactive nature. While prior studies emphasize the roles of product quality and promotional strategies, the interplay between entertainment, psychological engagement (e.g., flow experience), and narrative strategies in shaping consumer behavior remains underexplored. This study addresses this gap by integrating Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) theory and flow theory to investigate how live streaming characteristics influence purchase intentions. The study aims to examine the direct effect of live streaming entertainment on consumers’ flow, analyze the role of flow in translating entertainment into purchase intentions, and elucidate how narrative transportation moderates the relationship between entertainment and flow. Empirical analysis confirms that entertainment provided through streamer performance, interactive features, and engaging content significantly enhances consumers' flow state. This heightened flow state, which is characterized by deep concentration and detachment from distractions, subsequently exerts a strong positive influence on purchase intention. Furthermore, the study reveals that narrative transportation acts as a significant positive moderator: effective storytelling techniques strengthen the relationship between entertainment and flow. These findings advance theoretical understanding by integrating narrative transportation theory into the S-O-R model for live streaming, highlighting the interplay between hedonic stimuli, psychological immersion, and narrative form. Practically, the results offer actionable insights: businesses and platforms should prioritize streamer training in performance, incorporate interactive entertainment elements, tailor content to audience demographics, optimize technical quality for seamless immersion, and leverage narrative techniques to amplify the entertainment-flow link, thereby boosting consumer engagement and purchase conversion rates
