Megaphone and Signpost: The Role of Netflix in the Internationalization of Korean Film and Television Productions
In recent years, several South Korean film and television productions have captured worldwide attention, notably exemplified by the 2019 film Parasite, which clinched the Academy Award for Best Picture as the first non-English-language work. Among them, the original Netflix series Squid Game stands out as a representative example, reaching No. 1 on Netflix’s Top 10 lists in 94 countries. The internationalization of these works has led to further enhancement of this country’s cultural diplomacy capabilities. As one of the creators of Squid Game, Netflix seems to impact this process. However, how much of a role it has played is still up for discussion. The principal objective of this article is to evaluate Netflix’s role in the internationalization of South Korean film and television productions, because on this basis, there will be a possibility to explore the potential replicability of this successful experience in other contexts and regions. Through a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, we investigated the development of its film and television industry since 1997. Our findings highlight Netflix’s role as a “megaphone” and a “signpost” for South Korean content on the global stage. Otherwise, it’s also necessary to recognize that the well-established and mature development of the Korean film and television industry itself is also an important reason for Netflix’s surprising success in South Korean content
Desahucio e intento de resurrección de un Sistema Educacional
The analysis of the emergence of new technologies must necessarily be comprehensive. It must cover all activities and realities of our human life, and only once it has been globalized can we focus on the area that interests us and apply it to the interrelationship between education and new technologies. If we focus solely on the educational system, what could be a realistic, modern, solid, and feasible goal for providing better education and good instruction to students? The list of goals may be long, but let's look at the most important ones: Appropriate new technologies to apply them independently and intelligently in the service of the community. Train leaders with the ability to distinguish the essentials of each technological innovation, evaluating its potential, its risks, and its positive adaptation to the community. To cement and promote mindsets capable of organizing, exchanging, inventing, analyzing, and acting in a constructive, critical, and organized manner. Instruction facilitated by emerging technologies, group work, and cooperative organization must be the essential pillars of an educational system that looks toward the end of this century. Unfortunately, this is not the case with the current educational system

The Metamorphosis Formula
This study introduces and explores the "Metamorphosis Formula," a theoretical framework designed to investigate structural and morphological transformations in language, shaped by technological advancements and the evolving demands of modern communication. Central to this research is the development of the theory of algorithmic grammar, which applies mathematical formulas to analyze linguistic transformations. These include changes induced by prefixes, infixes, and suffixes, as well as the innovative use of chromatic algorithms to highlight grammatical information through color-coding visually.
The research integrates key concepts such as chromatic algorithms, the grammatical map, and the geometric architecture of information expression. It examines grammatical transformations at national and international levels, focusing on the origin and adaptation of grammatical elements across diverse languages. The study delves into the role of parentheses in grammatical structures and the adaptation of word roots in various linguistic contexts. Furthermore, it develops advanced formulas, including the tone formula, the comparative formula, the formula of grammatical time, and other grammatical correlations, such as addition, elimination, fusion, replacement, introduction, conjunction, semantic flexion, and changes in grammatical value. These are systematically integrated into a mathematical expression framework, encompassing grammatical agreement and other linguistic phenomena.
The research also investigates the outcomes of fusion and conjunction processes in grammatical elements, analyzing relationships between determinant and determined, theme and rheme, anaphoric and cataphoric elements, and lexical deixis. These relationships are defined and visually represented within a mathematical system, offering a novel perspective on linguistic structures. Additionally, the study examines the processes of information distribution within grammatical elements, addressing their morphological, syntactic, propositional, and phrasal values. These processes are visually expressed and further represented through mathematical models, such as fractions, to enhance clarity and precision.
The findings emphasize the utility of color as a tool for facilitating the rapid comprehension of grammatical information, with significant implications for education and natural language processing. By bridging linguistic theory with mathematical and visual methodologies, this research contributes to a deeper understanding of linguistic evolution and offers practical applications for improving communication efficiency in both academic and technological contexts.
This study investigates the "Metamorphosis Formula," emphasizing its dependence on human creativity, intuition, and ethical judgment, which are vital for developing innovative linguistic theories that artificial intelligence (AI) cannot achieve independently. By employing complex algorithmic formulas, including chromatic and grammatical coding, the research analyzes and models the structural and morphological transformations of language, showcasing the need for interdisciplinary knowledge and personal experience. The work highlights the significance of contextual understanding, adaptability, and ethical considerations in the research process, where human judgment is essential for interpreting results and making informed decisions. Ultimately, the study underscores the limitations of AI in replicating these human attributes and advocates for the harmonious integration of human imagination with technological capabilities to fully unlock the potential of language research and its applications in education, natural language processing, and AI
A Survey of Machine Learning Techniques for Intelligent Proctoring Systems.
The rapid shift to online education, accelerated by global events such as the pandemic, has underscored the critical need for robust and reliable online examination systems. A significant challenge in this paradigm is ensuring academic integrity and preventing malpractice. Traditional human proctoring methods, while effective in physical settings, are often labor-intensive, costly, and less scalable for remote assessments. This literature review paper systematically examines the advancements in automated online proctoring systems, with a particular focus on the application of deep learning techniques for detecting various forms of malpractice. We delve into different components of these systems, including face detection, multiple person detection, face spoofing, and head pose estimation. The paper synthesizes methodologies, datasets, and performance metrics from recent research, highlighting the evolution of deep learning models such as Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs), and their variants in addressing the complexities of real-time cheating detection. Furthermore, it discusses the challenges and limitations of current systems, such as the need for more diverse and annotated datasets, ethical considerations, and the constant evolution of cheating strategies. Finally, we propose future research directions aimed at developing more sophisticated, adaptive, and ethical online proctoring solutions that leverage the full potential of artificial intelligence

Conversely, negative aspects include potential associations with predatory journals, concerns over excessively rapid review and publication processes, difficulties in assessing quality, lack of transparency, limited evidence of effectiveness, attraction of paper mills, a rise in irrelevant submissions, and inflation and collusion in special issues
Untangling the Complex Knot of Health Services Tariffs in Iran
The health services tariff system is a cornerstone of every nation's healthcare system, with direct implications for resource allocation, service quality, and public access to healthcare. With the enactment of the Universal Health Insurance Act in November 1994, efforts were made to establish a scientific, structural, and legal foundation for setting tariffs for diagnostic and therapeutic services. This initiative aimed to enhance efficiency and equity while increasing stakeholder satisfaction within the healthcare system. Since then, government oversight and interaction between service providers and consumers have determined health services tariffs (diagnostic and therapeutic services). However, the tariff-setting mechanisms and the resulting tariffs have consistently faced criticism from healthcare stakeholders. Evidence suggests that, despite 30 years of implementation, the Act has fallen short of achieving its legislative objectives. Both the supply and demand sides of healthcare services remain dissatisfied with the approved tariffs under this framework. Service providers, particularly in recent years, argue that the tariffs are unrealistic and fail to cover service costs. Concurrently, patients and insurers express dissatisfaction with the financial burdens imposed on them
Personal Knowledge Management in Self-Care for Individuals with Bipolar Disorder: A Qualitative Study involving Patients, Families, and Healthcare Providers
Background. Bipolar disorder is a chronic condition that requires lifelong self-care. Many personal experiences are obtained in self-care. Therefore, gathering and utilizing these experiences is crucial for managing the condition effectively. This qualitative study explores the perspective of stakeholders on personal knowledge management in the context of bipolar disorder.
Methods. The current qualitative study was conducted in 2024 in Tabriz. First, semi-structured interviews were carried out with patients diagnosed with bipolar disorder, their families, and healthcare staff working in psychiatric departments to identify self-care experiences. The content analysis approach and MAXQDA software version 2020 were used for data analysis. Then, the Delphi technique was employed to assess the level of agreement among experts regarding the indicators of personal knowledge management for self-care among patients with bipolar disorder.
Results. By coding the interview transcripts, seven themes and 24 categories were identified. Two of these themes pertained to patients, including: 1) educational strategies for patients and their families, and 2) strategies for enhancing patients' engagement in the treatment process. Additionally, five themes related to healthcare providers were identifies: 1) attention to the privacy of service recipients, 2) barriers to self-care knowledge management, 3) essential input for self-care knowledge management, 4) processes for managing patients' personal experiences and 5) education in information technology. In the second stage, 41 out of 65 codes received an average score above 7.5 in the first round of Delphi process, while the remaining codes proceeded to the second round. According to the results of the second round, only seven codes achieved an agreement above 0.6. The remaining codes were removed due to having an agreement below 0.6.
Conclusion. According to the results, providing face-to-face training to patients with bipolar disorder and their families can enhance patients’ self-care practices. Also, sharing reliable experiences among patients via social media can enhance self-care behaviors. In addition to providing education, fostering the positive attitude among patients and their families toward the impact of sharing experiences can lead to effective behavioral changes
An Estimation of Cost-Effectiveness Threshold: Calculating the Monetary Value of a Quality-Adjusted Life Year
Background. The cost-effectiveness threshold represents the maximum monetary amount per health outcome considered acceptable for adopting a new intervention or technology. It serves as a straightforward decision-making tool to determine cost-effective interventions. Different jurisdictions apply this tool to optimize monetary investments to provide patients with additional quality-adjusted life years (QALYs). The willingness-to-pay approach-used in this study to project the monetary worth of a QALY- is one way to derive this cost-effectiveness threshold.
Methods. This cross-sectional study, conducted in 2019, was tailored to Iran’s socioeconomic context. It comprised a survey in Tabriz, a metropolitan city, with a sample size of 304 participants without any particular disorders. The study employed the contingent valuation method and the willingness-to-pay approach. The data were acquired by interviews, and a researcher-designed questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using Excel 2010 and STATA 16 software, employing the Weibull regression model.
Results. The results revealed that the median willingness to pay among Tabriz citizens in 2019 for one QALY was 715,001,033 rials. This figure is 1.05 times Iran's 2017 per capita GDP, less than the upper limit of the world health organization (WHO)'s recommended cost-effectiveness level. Key factors in the study were household income, level of education, and number of children. Other variables, such as gender, employment status, age, and marital status, did not significantly impact the willingness to pay.
Conclusion. Based on the results of this study, the threshold obtained is lower than that proposed by the WHO. Our findings align with those of other studies and can serve as crucial input for economic evaluation studies
