    Implementation of a relativistic distorted wave impulse approximation model into the NEUT event generator

    RYC2022-035203-I: Ayuda Ramón y CajalWe describe the implementation of a model for charged-current quasielastic (CCQE) neutrino-nucleus scattering in the NEUT Monte Carlo event generator. This model employs relativistic momentum distributions obtained from mean-field theory and relativistic distorted waves to describe the initial and final nucleon states. Final state interactions, both elastic and inelastic, are modeled by combining distorted waves with NEUT’s intranuclear cascade, offering a more accurate representation of the interactions experienced by scattered nucleons. The model and its implementation in NEUT are described in detail and benchmarked against νμ12C scattering cross section measurements from T2K and MINERνA, as well as νμ40Ar measurements from MicroBooNE. The results, including transverse kinematic imbalance variables and scattered nucleon kinematics, show improved χ2 values compared to other CCQE models in NEUT.     Free-floating, giant planets in the Pleiades

    En este trabajo se realiza un estudio fotométrico y astrométrico profundo en la banda J mediante el empleo de observaciones realizadas en el cúmulo de las Pléyades en las noches transcurridas desde el 9 hasta el 15 de noviembre de 2017 con el instrumento Omega2000, situado en el telescopio 3.5 m de Calar Alto. Para ello se emplea la herramienta IRAF, además de observaciones realizadas en otra época anterior con una diferencia de alrededor de 10 años entre ambas, con el fin obtener los valores del movimiento propio. Los límites de la fotometría se sitúan en J ≈ 23-24 mag, alcanzando una profundidad superior a los anteriores estudios similares. Esto nos permite lograr los objetivos del proyecto, basados en la confirmación de las propiedades observadas para los candidatos a miembros del cúmulo, que presentaban movimientos propios compatibles con los del cúmulo y colores acordes a la secuencia conocida de las Pléyades, identificados en trabajos anteriores, y la ampliación del número de dichos candidatos. De esta manera, el trabajo aquí presentado contribuye a la confirmación de planetas errantes previamente conocidos en las Pléyades y al incremento de esta población que requerirá estudios posteriores para su caracterización. Se obtienen así resultados prometedores, siendo estos compatibles con los presentados en literatura (Zapatero Osorio et al. 2014). Los valores de magnitudes en la banda J conseguidos para los objetos de interés especial (Calar Pleiades) se encuentran alrededor de 20-21 mag, mientras que los calculados para el movimiento propio, aun compatibles, se alejan ligeramente del valor medio que presentan las Pléyades ([19.997,-45.548] mas/yr). Los nuevos candidatos identificados por astrometría tienen magnitudes J en el intervalo 15.5-21 mag.In this work, a deep photometric and astrometric study in the J band is carried out using obser vations taken with the Omega2000 instrument, located on the 3.5 m Calar Alto telescope, during the nights from November 9 to 15, 2017, in the Pleiades cluster. For this purpose, the IRAF tool is used, along with earlier observations taken approximately 10 years apart to derive proper motion values. The photometric limits are around J ≈ 23–24 mag, reaching a greater depth than previous similar studies. This allows us to meet the project’s objectives, which are based on confirming the observed properties of cluster member candidates and expanding the number of such candidates. These already existing candidates exhibited proper motions consistent with those of the cluster and colors matching the known Pleiades sequence, having been identified in previous works. In this way, the work presented here contributes to the confirmation of previously known free-floating planets in the Pleiades and to the increase of this population, which will require further studies for its characterization. Promising results are obtained, which are consistent with those reported in the literature (Zapatero Osorio et al. 2014). The J-band magnitudes obtained for the specially interesting objects (Calar Pleiades) are around 20–21 mag, while the proper motion values, although still compatible, slightly deviate from the mean motion of the Pleiades ([19.997,-45.548] mas/yr).     Fear of crime in natural environments from a gender perspective: the case of the “Camino de Santiago”

    The main objective of this study was to analyse the nature and magnitude of the fear of being a victim of crime among pilgrims during the “Camino de Santiago”. Specifically, this study explored the gender differences that can be observed with regard to the emotion experienced in a journey that, apart from the spiritual transcendence that it may pose to the pilgrims, is characterised by the act of entering natural spaces with very little human presence. The aim of this work was to address an underdeveloped research area in the scope of criminology and environmental psychology that, in the last two decades, has been mostly focused on analysing the fear of crime in urban spaces. The sample was constituted by 1,084 pilgrims (58.9% women and 41.1% men) aged between 18 and 75 years. The results show that women perceive the “Camino de Santiago” as more dangerous compared to men (M = 2; SD = 0.67) (t (1078) =-2.769; p=.006), and self-perceive as more vulnerable when walking it alone ( ଶ=202.816; df=2; p<.001). The results also highlight the importance of physical characteristics in terms of perspective, shelter and potential escape routes, and the influence of these variables on how the pilgrims perceive and experience the natural environment. Este fenómeno ofrece en la actualidad nuevos enfoques para el artista y demás agentes que promueven y gestionan la cultura a través de proyectos, convocatorias y eventos para el arte contemporáneo. El arte participativo fomenta la interacción con el público y logra eliminar la barrera que tradicionalmente podía existir entre el artista y el espectador. A partir de este cambio logra construir nuevos significados artísticos en torno a las experiencias y procesos elaborados en comunidad .La práctica artística participativa se ha manifestado de manera global, sin embargo en nuestra investigación queremos poner el foco de atención en nuestro propio contexto, España...This thesis seeks to provide a review of participatory art in contemporary art, a movement that has sought throughout its trajectory different ways of relating to the public and/or communities, causing them to acquire a different role and giving them a more protagonist role within the productive process. This phenomenon currently offers new approaches for the artist and other agents that promote and manage culture through projects, calls and events for contemporary art. Participatory art encourages interaction with the public and manages to eliminate the barrier that traditionally existed between the artist and the spectator. From this change, it manages to construct new artistic meanings around the experiences and processes elaborated in community.
