Use of persistent identifiers: imperative in scientific publishing processes

    Get PDF
In today's digital age, where the amount of information generated and stored is overwhelming, the challenge of preserving and accessing it in an efficient and lasting manner arises. Persistent identifiers hold promise as a solution to address this challenge by providing a unique and enduring way to identify and access digital resources. They are unique strings of characters that are assigned to digital resources: documents, images, videos or any other type of file. Uniform Resource Locators (URLs) are transient identifiers, they can become inaccessible over time. Conversely, persistent identifiers are designed to be stable. They are independent of the location or state of the resource, which means that if you change platforms the identifier is valid. There are different identifier systems, among the best known are the Digital Object Identifier (DOI), the Uniform Resource Name (URN) and the Persistent Uniform Resource Locator (PURL)

The purpose of the model is to calculate the credit spread sensitivity, correlation sensitivity, and default sensitivity via analytic methods for index CDO trades and bespoke CDO trades. The credit spread sensitivity is defined as the change in the MTM by perturbing the credit spread by a small amount; the default sensitivity is calculated by assuming that one obligor in the collateral pool defaults right away; and the correlation sensitivity is computed by perturbing the index base correlations by a small amount

Chapter: Reflections of a Non-Binary Asian American in LIS. Book description (Litwin Books & Library Juice Press): In the library profession, and in the world as a whole, the experiences of trans and gender diverse people often go unnoticed, hidden, and ignored. But we are here. Trans and Gender Diverse Voices in Libraries is entirely written and edited by trans and gender diverse people involved in the field: its fifty-seven authors include workers from academic and public libraries, special collections and archives, and more; LIS students; and a few people who have left the library profession completely. This book is not intended to be the definitive guide to trans and gender diverse experiences in libraries, but instead to start the conversation. It is our hope that this book will help trans and gender diverse people in libraries realize that they are not alone, and that their experiences are worth sharing. This book also demonstrates some of the reality in a field that loves to think of itself as inclusive. From physical spaces to policies to interpersonal ignorance and bigotry, the experiences recounted in this book demonstrate that the library profession continues to fail its trans and gender diverse members over and over again. You cannot read these chapters and claim that Safe Zone stickers and “libraries are for everyone” signs have done the job. You cannot assume that everything is fine in your workplace because nobody has spoken out. You can no longer pretend that we don’t exist

المدينة والاحتجاج؛ دراسة في الأبعاد الانفعالية لفعل الاحتجاج

    No full text

Holocaust Distortions on Social Media After 10/7. The Antisemitic Mobilization

    Get PDF
Our analysis of Holocaust-related content on five social media platforms revealed the widespread presence of Holocaust denial and distortion. This study also highlighted how these distorted references to the Holocaust are being used to fuel antisemitism. The analysis found that platforms like X/Twitter and Truth Social consistently returned results that included Holocaust denial and distortions, while Gab and 4chan, with their predominantly far-right user bases, exhibited an even higher concentration of antisemitic and Holocaust denial messages. YouTube, on the other hand, employs algorithms that prioritize search results with predominantly informational videos about the Holocaust, but some of the comments were also antisemitic. The study also found a disturbing trend of increasing radicalism in antisemitic messages throughout October, including explicit calls for violence and mass murder. These findings underscore the urgent need for social media platforms to implement more effective measures to combat Holocaust denial and distortion, as the weaponization of these harmful narratives poses a significant threat to the preservation of historical truth and the promotion of tolerance, non-violence, and understanding

The book addresses the period that runs from the second half of the 19th century, when the State launched the process of territorial occupation of La Araucanía (1862-1883), until the end of the 1950s, in the years prior to the agrarian reform. It thus includes a long cycle in which the structural conditions did not allow the conflicts generated by land ownership and the colonization of La Araucanía to break out, leaving the hegemonic and identity conflicts generated in specific spaces of modernization and colonization moderately subdued. of the Mapuche territory
