No full textNowadays, tourism is widely promoted in protected natural areas, which is considered an essential strategy to optimize the use of natural resources. However, the lack of planning and information on tourist attractions has caused the appearance of significant environmental, social and economic impacts, as is the case of the recently inaugurated La Serranía Trail, belonging to the Protective Forest Reserve of the Eastern Hills of Bogotá, which since its opening has not considered the development of tourist activities as the axis of the use of resources. Thus, the main objective of the research was to carry out an analysis of the environmental, social and economic impacts associated with the La Serranía natural trail to identify the areas of applicability in sustainable tourism, as well as to enhance the positive aspects that ensure the adequate development of tourist activity.En la actualidad, el turismo se promueve ampliamente en las áreas naturales protegidas, lo cual se considera, una estrategia esencial para optimizar el uso de los recursos naturales. Sin embargo, la falta de planificación e información de los atractivos turísticos, ha causado la aparición de significativos impactos ambientales, sociales y económicos, como es el caso, del recientemente inaugurado Sendero La Serranía, perteneciente a la Reserva Forestal Protectora de los Cerros Orientales de Bogotá, el cual desde su apertura no ha considerado el desarrollo de las actividades turísticas como eje del aprovechamiento de los recursos. De esta forma, la investigación tuvo como principal objetivo, realizar un análisis de los impactos ambientales, sociales y económicos asociados al sendero natural La Serranía para identificar las áreas de aplicabilidad en el turismo sostenible, así como potencializar los aspectos positivos que aseguren el adecuado desarrollo de la actividad turística

The fundamental aspects will be described and will help to better understand the context, the objectives of this experience and the activities carried out in the company. First, a clear vision of the work area to which it is assigned in the company will be provided. This includes a detailed description of my responsibilities and specific tasks that are expected to be carried out during the period of the internship. In addition, a work plan is presented that guides the execution of the business internship. The main focus of this plan is to validate the work activities that have been designed for the company ensuring that they are aligned with the strategic objectives of the company. Development of a sustainable management model for the preventive management of infections in intensive care units from an intersectoral approach using artificial intelligence tools.
No full textThis paper proposes an innovative methodology to address the problem of early diagnosis of nosocomial diseases in hospital settings, with particular emphasis on Intensive Care Units (ICUs). Candidiasis, a highly prevalent opportunistic fungal infection in critically ill patients, was selected as a representative case study. The approach adopted is socio-environmental, highlighting how factors such as race and age significantly influence the timeliness of candidiasis diagnosis. Using data mining techniques applied to the MIMIC IV medical database, which contains decoupled clinical information on a large number of hospitalized patients, a sample was segmented into eight groups, defined by the combination of sepsis and candidiasis diagnoses in patients admitted to the ICU. The data from this sample were filtered, sorted, and stratified, taking into account socio-environmental variables and relevant clinical traceability, such as clinical and microbiological laboratory results, which are essential for the diagnosis of candidiasis.El presente trabajo propone una metodología innovadora para abordar la problemática del diagnóstico temprano de enfermedades nosocomiales, en ambientes hospitalarios, con énfasis particular en Unidades de Cuidados Intensivos (UCI). Como estudio de caso representativo, se seleccionó la candidiasis, una infección fúngica oportunista de alta incidencia en pacientes críticos, cuyo diagnóstico oportuno representa un desafío clínico relevante. El enfoque adoptado es de carácter socio-ambiental, destacando cómo factores como la raza y edad, inciden significativamente en la oportunidad del diagnóstico oportuno de la candidiasis. A través de técnicas de minería de datos aplicadas a la base de datos médica MIMIC IV, la cual contiene información clínica desacoplada de una gran cantidad de pacientes hospitalizados, se extrajo una muestra segmentada en ocho grupos, definidos por la combinación de diagnósticos de sepsis y candidiasis en pacientes que fueron ingresados a UCI. Los datos de esta muestra fueron filtrados, ordenados y estratificados considerando variables socio-ambientales y trazabilidad clínica relevante, como resultados de laboratorios clínicos y microbiológicos, fundamentales para el diagnóstico de la candidiasis

Get PDFThe analysis of the impact of phytosanitary measures from the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA) on Colombia's agricultural exports and imports reveals that, while these regulations are essential for ensuring the safety of products and facilitating access to high-value international markets, they also present significant challenges, especially for small and medium producers due to high costs and the complexity of procedures. Compliance with these norms can open new commercial opportunities and improve the reputation of Colombian products, but the lack of adequate infrastructure and limited access to technology are barriers that hinder competitiveness. It is recommended to strengthen the ICA's infrastructure and promote public-private collaboration to optimize processes and support producers in complying with phytosanitary regulations.El análisis del impacto de las medidas fitosanitarias del Instituto Colombiano Agropecuario (ICA) en las exportaciones e importaciones agrícolas de Colombia revela que, aunque estas regulaciones son esenciales para garantizar la sanidad de los productos y facilitar el acceso a mercados internacionales de alto valor, también representan desafíos significativos, especialmente para pequeños y medianos productores debido a los altos costos y la complejidad de los trámites. El cumplimiento de estas normativas puede abrir nuevas oportunidades comerciales y mejorar la reputación de los productos colombianos, pero la falta de infraestructura adecuada y el acceso limitado a tecnología son barreras que limitan la competitividad. Se recomienda fortalecer la infraestructura del ICA y promover la colaboración público-privada para optimizar los procesos y apoyar a los productores en el cumplimiento de las regulaciones fitosanitarias
Evaluation of whey utilization in the production of a beer-type fermented beverage.
No full textThe objective of this project was to evaluate the technical and sensorial feasibility of incorporating hydrolyzed whey into the production of Stout craft beer as a sustainable alternative for the valorization of dairy by-products. Whey, considered a high-environmental waste, was subjected to enzymatic hydrolysis, optimizing lactase concentration and pH to maximize the conversion of lactose into fermentable sugars and improve its assimilation by yeasts during alcoholic fermentation. The treatment was carried out under two pH conditions (5.8 and 6.5) and eleven enzyme concentration levels (500–10,000 NLU/L), achieving an efficient release of reducing sugars, confirmed by the DNS method. Three batches of beer were brewed from this hydrolyzed whey with 10%, 30%, and 50% addition. The results showed a progressive increase in alcohol yield, reaching a maximum of 6.30% v/v in the 50% batch, equivalent to an increase of 1.32 points compared to the control. An apparent attenuation of up to 77.4% was also recorded, reflecting greater fermentation efficiency.El presente proyecto tuvo como objetivo evaluar la viabilidad técnica y sensorial de incorporar lactosuero hidrolizado en la elaboración de cerveza artesanal tipo Stout, como alternativa sostenible para la valorización de subproductos lácteos. El lactosuero, considerado un residuo de alto impacto ambiental, fue sometido a hidrólisis enzimática, optimizando la concentración de lactasa y el pH para maximizar la conversión de lactosa en azúcares fermentables y mejorar su asimilación por las levaduras durante la fermentación alcohólica. El tratamiento se realizó bajo dos condiciones de pH (5,8 y 6,5) y once niveles de concentración enzimática (500–10.000 NLU/L), logrando una liberación eficiente de azúcares reductores, confirmada mediante el método DNS. A partir de este lactosuero hidrolizado se elaboraron tres lotes de cerveza con 10%, 30% y 50% de adición. Los resultados mostraron un incremento progresivo en el rendimiento alcohólico, alcanzando un máximo de 6,30% v/v en el lote con 50%, equivalente a un aumento de 1,32 puntos frente al control. También se registró una atenuación aparente de hasta 77,4%, reflejando mayor eficiencia fermentativa

The tool will be a step-by-step guide for the application of the concepts, applicable to biomass pyrolysis processes, specifically in our case study of coffee pulp. This tool seeks to integrate the principles of exergy and economics, providing a practical tool for teaching and learning in process engineering. Exergy, which allows the evaluation of the real efficiency of systems by considering both irreversible losses and available useful energy, is complemented in this case with an economic evaluation that facilitates decision-making based on sustainability criteria and operating costs.Este proyecto tiene como objetivo principal el desarrollo de una herramienta educativa especializada en el análisis exergoeconómico, la herramienta será una guía (paso a paso) para la aplicación de los conceptos, aplicable a procesos de pirólisis de biomasa, específicamente será en nuestro caso de estudio de la pulpa de café. Esta herramienta busca integrar los principios de la exergía y la economía, proporcionando una herramienta práctica para la enseñanza y el aprendizaje en ingeniería de procesos. This case study focuses on the Bosque Calderón Tejada neighborhood in the Chapinero district. Vulnerability will be examined from both its causes and consequences, encompassing social, economic, political, environmental, and institutional factors. Therefore, the research employs a multidimensional approach that integrates the perspectives of experts, community leaders, and residents to understand the phenomenon in its entirety and propose comprehensive solutions. The research methodology is a mixed-methods approach that combines various qualitative and quantitative methods, such as expert surveys, interviews with community leaders, literature review, data analysis, and the development of a mobile application to measure and monitor vulnerability.El propósito de este trabajo de investigación es analizar la vulnerabilidad de los asentamientos informales a través de un caso específico en la ciudad de Bogotá. Este caso se refiere al barrio Bosque Calderón Tejada en la localidad de Chapinero. La vulnerabilidad será examinada desde sus causas y consecuencias, incluyendo factores sociales, económicos, políticos, ambientales e institucionales. Por ende, la investigación se basa en un enfoque multidimensional que integra las perspectivas de los expertos, líderes de la comunidad y residentes para comprender el fenómeno en toda su complejidad y proponer soluciones integrales.
