October 27, 2020: Covid-19 Campus Update
The COVID-19 Response Team continues to work with the Genesee County Public Health Department and with the Of ice of the President to adapt to the situation as it evolves and provide our community with the most current information regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. The University is fully committed to the health and safety of its entire community, and will continue to closely monitor this situation and any others that impact our campus. In addition to providing updates on a regular basis, the team meets regularly to review, evaluate and address immediate and future issues related to the pandemic. Members of the team include student, faculty and staf representatives and are listed here on the University’s website
No Date: CS320 Computer Graphics
CS 320 is an elective course that had a separate lab section from the classroom lecture, but these are being integrated into a lecture only with exercises embedded into the classroom experience rather than being provided in a separate lab section
No Date: CS102 Computing and Algorithms II
We are reducing the number of lab sections for this course from two to one and to provide adequate one-on-one time with the students we need to drop the course capacity from 30 to 24. This change to one lab section is to better align the course contact and credit hours with the workload model
8/19/2020: Course Change Form Accelerated Masters
Currently the Accelerated Masters Program allows Kettering undergraduates and alumni to dual count two courses towards both a baccalaureate and a masters degree program. The courses that can be dual counted are dual listed courses (e.g., 400/600 level courses). While most institutions that offer graduate degree programs have some form of an Accelerated Masters Program, the number of courses that students are allowed to dual count in these programs is greater than two.
The current proposal would increase the number of 400/600 courses that Kettering University students are allowed to dual count from two (2) to three (3), all other aspects of the Accelerated Masters Program will remain the same. The proposed entry to the GRAD catalog is shown below
4/22/2020: Course Change Form MATH 100
This five-contact hour course is for students who are placed in MATH-100 by the Mathematics Placement Test. There is no change in the coverage. The six contact hour version, which is eliminated, required 2-hour meeting in one day (deemed excessive) and reduced student time for out-of-class study
