Systematic evaluation of cryptic freshwater snails from central Chile, including the enigmatic Littoridina santiagensis (Gastropoda, Truncatelloidea)
Walter Biese described Littoridina santiagensis Biese, 1944 (Cochliopidae) from Estero Dehesa in 1944 based exclusively on external shell features and a second allopatric population in Yeso Spring three years later. Since 2011 different samplings have been carried out at the type locality and have only provided specimens of the morphologically similar invasive mudsnail Potamopyrgus antipodarum Gray, 1843 (Tateidae), raising doubts about the identity of the species. The recent fi nding of two snail morphotypes in Yeso Spring, a thick shelled form congruent with type specimens of L. santiagensis and a slender one morphologically associable to P. antipodarum, allowed comparative studies, including the taxonomic analysis of additional populations with similar shell morphology occurring in central Chile.
A DNA barcoding (COI) approach identifi ed the slender form from Yeso Spring in Maipo Basin and a second population from the contiguous Rapel Basin indeed as the invasive P. antipodarum; however, L. santiagensis was recovered among species of Potamolithus Pilsbry, 1896 (Tateidae), justifying the Potamolithus santiagensis (Biese, 1944) comb. nov. Besides recognition of three other populations as belonging to Potamolithus, the molecular analysis also suggests trans-Andean dispersal of this group of snails in the Southern Cone of South America
Design Thinking’s resources for in-situ co-design of mobile games
Location-based Mobile Games have been growing in popularity in recent years. But these are widely explored only for outdoor spaces, since it has the advantage of using GPS data to obtain the user's current location. There is no unified solution to sense the user’s location in indoor spaces; so, games for these spaces are little explored. The design of Location-based Mobile Games, in many cases, requires the participation of multidisciplinary teams; so, they are co-designed by a group of people. However, there is no clear way of knowing how this codesign should be conducted. The aim of this paper is to propose a conceptual framework for in-situ co-design for indoor spaces on Location-based Mobile Games through the use of Design Thinking's resources. This conceptual framework could help facilitators with this kind of experience to consider what resources can be useful to this task. An experience of in-situ co-design of a Location-based Mobile Game for indoor spaces is presented using the proposed framework. In addition, a discussion is generated in relation to this kind of co-design
Semantic Support for Scenarios to Improve Communication in Agribusiness
Organizations produce and exchange a lot of critical information to obtain good results. Systems developed in different domains are adapted to be integrated when they need to exchange information. Food and agribusiness are not the exceptions, they are pioneers in the use of massive data and collaboration. One of the biggest challenges to communicate software systems is analyzing their colliding context. Every software system relies on its own context, with its rules, dynamic, and language. It is a big effort to have a complete understanding of the composed domain. Scenarios are well-known tools to describe domains and are commonly described with text. When Scenarios are built by different stakeholders it is extremely important to review them in order to unify their description. Thus, the improved Scenarios with a unified point of view make it possible an analysis to identify the relationship between two different domains. This analysis is the key to design a mechanism to exchange information. This paper proposes a semantic definition of Scenarios and a set of queries to identify issues in the Scenarios and improve their quality. We also provide a wiki platform to implement the semantic support and the queries.Publicado en IFIP Advances in Information and Communication Technology book series (IFIPAICT, volume 568)
Metamorphic evolution of the Loma Marcelo skarn within the geotectonic context of the crystalline basement of the Ventania System (Argentina)
This study describes the mineralogical and isotopic changes that carbonate xenoliths experienced under multiple metamorphic events and hydrothermal fluid circulation during the evolution of the Ventania System basement. The high reactivity of carbonate xenoliths allowed the preservation of mineral assemblages corresponding to at least three metamorphic events in the resulting Loma Marcelo skarn. The Ventania System basement is composed of Neoproterozoic granites and ignimbrites, Early Cambrian granites, and Middle Cambrian rhyolites. Carbonate xenoliths were incorporated during the intrusion of a calc-alkaline granite with an LA-ICP-MS U-Pb crystallization age of 621.6 ± 2.2 Ma. The intrusion induced pyroxene–hornfels facies metamorphism in the carbonate xenoliths and the associated metasomatism generated calcic and magnesian skarns depending on the protolith composition. Garnet, clinopyroxene, wollastonite, bytownite, and meionite were formed in the calcic skarn (CaS), whereas forsterite and spinel were formed in the magnesian skarn (MgS). Crystallization of Early Cambrian alkaline granites was accompanied by intense hydrothermal activity that was responsible for low temperature (≤300 °C) F-metasomatism in the skarn, as evidenced by the presence of F-rich vesuvianite (CaS) and chondrodite (MgS), among other minerals.
Vesuvianite was formed from calc-silicate mineral assemblages of the previous metamorphic event, whereas chondrodite was formed by replacement of forsterite. The low temperature formation of these typical high-grade minerals could be an evidence of mineral formation under disequilibrium conditions favoured by the high reactivity of hydrothermal fluids. Neopalaeozoic basement mylonitization under greenschist facies metamorphism was accompanied by hydrothermal fluid circulation. This event promoted extreme mobility of chemical elements in the basement rocks and epidotization (CaS) and serpentinization (MgS) in the Loma Marcelo skarn. The elongated and boudinaged shape of the skarn bodies, parallel to the mylonitic foliation, is a consequence of dextral shearing that affected the basement rocks. Additionally, almost pure grossular crystallized post-tectonically in the CaS. Carbonates of the Loma Marcelo skarn are depleted in 13C and 18O (δ13CV-PDB = −2.5/−10.1‰; δ18OV-SMOW = +7.3/+14.0‰) relative to carbonate sedimentary rocks. The δ13C and δ18O variations can be attributed to the interaction between large amounts of hydrothermal fluids (W/R = 30–50) and Neoproterozoic carbonate sedimentary rocks

Alkali-silica reactivity of basaltic aggregates of Mesopotamia Argentina: case studies
This work consists of two stages; first, studies were conducted to evaluate the potential reactivity of crushed material (6–20 mm fraction) from two quarries (named A and B) producing basaltic aggregates in the northeast of Argentina (Mesopotamia region, province of Corrientes). The studies included petrographic analysis, identification of expandable clay by X-ray diffraction, and standardized physical tests on mortar bars and concrete prisms to evaluate their potential reactivity. Also, dissolved silica was determined according to the chemical test method. Although the studied aggregates cannot be qualified in the same way based on the results of the physical tests, there is a direct relationship between the glass and expandable clay content in the samples (quarry A aggregate > quarry B aggregate) and their behavior in the physical and chemical tests (higher values for aggregates A). In the second stage, two structures of the province of Corrientes were studied: an urban pavement (made with aggregate A) and an airport runway (made with aggregate B), both with signs of alkali-silica reaction (ASR). A visual survey was carried out and concrete cores were extracted. On the latter, physical tests, petrographic studies, and SEM-EDS determinations were performed to identify reaction products. In the urban pavement, aggregate A, used as coarse aggregate, and the presence of siliceous sandstones rich in chalcedony and microcrystalline quartz in the fine aggregate would have contributed to ASR development, while in the airport runway, the initial deterioration would have favored the ASR as a secondary process

The public debate about non gendered restrooms its always presented in the same dilemmatic manner: even if in favor or against, “all gender” restrooms are always conceived as the place were two identities (female and male) are added to promote the “inclusion” of the ones that supposedly composed the gray area between them. The main hypothesis summarized here, is that if the construction of the restrooms is related to the sex-gender system, to discuss the last one, demands to talk about architecture. Therefore, in this paper the discussion is about some assumptions related to the architectural paradigm in this typology, in parallel to the role of school spaces, as power focus and resistance points.Dossier: Justicia social, educación y equida
