    Limitations to learning and participation using the Neu-trosophic Analytic Hierarchy Process (NAHP)

    This study is related to obstacles to learning and participation and is a quintessential concern in creating in-clusive systems and systems based on equity. The principal investigator question is: what are the obstacles to participation and learning, and how can they be assessed? The phenomenon occurs relative to the world today because too many marginalized communities across the globe do not have access to this form of edu-cation; socioeconomic access can be limited. Assessing its relevance supports future policy implications and assessments because it increases awareness of communities not easily accessible and struggles with diversi-ty and uncertain patterned systems. Despite the changes made to education over the years, new assessments still take a common weighted average without employing tools to understand the uncertainty surrounding human viewpoints regarding obstacles to learning. This study offers a solution, the Neutrosophic Analytic Hierarchy Process (NAHP). From the assessment of the collection method relative to the NAHP which sought qualitative and quantitative assessment through interviews/questionnaires posed to teach-ers/students, the results were assessed through the NAHP. The findings concluded that the biggest challeng-es were lack of opportunity/resources, social alienation, and lack of funding for teacher training. This study contributes theoretically to an applicable framework for assessing obstacles to learning and practically con-tributes to findings that note the need for continued teacher training and teacher policy for inclusion that can be applicable in diverse classrooms with diverse efforts at participation and learning

    Neutrosophic Cognitive Maps to Analyze Barriers and Opportunities in the Development of Critical Thinking through Inquiry Strategies in Public Universities

    The effective implementation of inquiry strategies in higher education is hampered by multiple interconnected fac-tors, from institutional constraints to pedagogical barriers, creating a complex scenario that traditional analysis methods fail to fully capture. This problem takes on particular relevance in the current context, where the devel-opment of critical thinking has become a fundamental competency for facing the challenges of constantly changing societies. While numerous studies on active pedagogies exist, there remains a notable lack of approaches that can adequately manage the ambiguity, contradictions, and uncertainty inherent in real-life educational systems. To ad-dress this limitation, this research proposes an innovative analytical framework that combines cognitive maps with neutrosophic logic, allowing for the representation and evaluation of causal relationships through values of truth, falsity, and indeterminacy. Through a rigorous methodological design that includes systematic data collec-tion and the use of specialized algorithms, the study seeks to uncover the hidden dynamics that affect the adoption of these pedagogical strategies. The implications of this work are both theoretical and practical, offering a new per-spective for understanding complex educational systems, and providing managers and educators with more so-phisticated tools for making informed decisions in contexts of high uncertainty

    This presentation is designed for Dental Services Journal Club attendees as Session 2 of an article‑based workshop series on clinical scholarship, featuring three exemplar systematic reviews and meta-analyses on endodontic restoration: Naumann 2018 (ferrule effect in post-and-core restorations), Tsintsadze 2024 (survival rates of glass-fiber vs metal posts), and Batista 2020 (ferrule effect on fiber-reinforced composite post-and-core failure).     Classification of cases of animal abuse in Ecuador using IndetermSoft and C4.5 algorithms

    This dissertation aimed to determine the classification of animal abuse within Ecuador by severity, context, and solution through the application of IndetermSoft and the statistical-neutrosophic C4.5 algorithm to classify the uncertainty associated with judicial and administrative efforts for animal protection for domestic dogs and cats. The approach was qualitative and documentary, analyzing judicial sentences, citizen complaints, and municipal ordinances within the three largest Ecuadorian cities of Quito, Guayaquil, and Cuenca to acquire the determination of classifications of animal abuse, subsequent sanctions, and follow-ups. A modeling of IndetermSoft ensembles assessed the indeterminacy of subsequent actions, and inputted into IndetermSoft and the C4.5 algorithm processed to generate neutrosophic decision forests to elucidate trends and rankings of administrative and judicial actions. Ultimately, the results concluded that determining the classification of animal abuse is an effective endeavor—exacerbated by the inclusion of uncertainty—to solidify potential next steps for animal welfare in Ecuador. However, standardization of results among the municipalities, increased inter-institutional cooperation, and an alignment between national and local laws would render the application of sanctions more appropriate, which would better supplement aggression\u27s outcomes and Ecuador\u27s animal welfare law in a more equitable, efficient, and effective manner for animal rights

    Urban shadows in Latin America: Detection of crime hotspots using multivariate, geospatial, and Neutrosophic Analytic Hierarchy Process (NAHP) analytical techniques

    In recent years, Guayaquil fell prey to higher levels of organized extortion compared to territorialized criminal organizations over territory, institutional weaknesses, and socio-spatial inequalities. Thus, while extortion emerged as an increasingly specialized crime, there are limited empirical studies to evaluate the crime\u27s spatiotemporal nature or its determinants. Therefore, this study aims to identify and characterize extortion criminal severity zones of Guayaquil from 2021-2024, via a novel geostatistical approach, in addition to the Neutrosophic Analytic Hierarchy Process (NAHP). By implementing Exploratory Spatial Data Analysis (ESDA), Kernel Density Estimation (KDE), dimensionality reduction techniques (PCA, MDS, and t-SNE), hierarchical clustering, and Bayesian hierarchical modeling via INLA—as well as NAHP to rank districts for intervention under uncertainty—this research finds statistically significant results. Specifically, using a cleaned, georeferenced variable dataset of extortion-related emergency calls (ECU-911) and socio-demographics from 2022 census data, the study uncovered significant spatial autocorrelation (Global Moran\u27s I = 0.271, p \u3c 0.001), as extortion hotspot high-high areas were found northwest in Nueva Prosperina and northeast in Pascuales. KDE and Getis -Ord G* threshold mapping confirmed extortion hotspots overlapped with poverty hotspots in these areas over various months across time. Clustering via PCA suggested three crime severity zones—consistent/extreme, emerging, and low—based on fluctuations/stability of extortion severity. Bayesian testing confirmed spatiotemporal structures as the posterior relative risk of specific districts exceeded 3.4. Finally, the NAHP revealed extortion prevention priority districts including Guayaquil Island, as data indecision and neutrosophic logic allowed for further justification of risk trends. Such findings are unprecedented as they provide empirical contributions to crime\u27s territorial dynamics of extortion relative to resource-scarce cities in Latin America. Further, applying neutrosophic logic through the NAHP process adds to the rigor of this study while providing a platform for future researchers and decision-makers alike.
