Get PDFThis article is regarded as an attempt to examine the origin and some specific features of associative ties of words referring to dichotomy of the “language-speech” discourse and to determine the peculiarity of their functioning in some works of art. Special scientific research has been done to confirm the systemic in nature of these associative ties of words that emerge clearly the semantic relations between lexical units both at the paradigmatic level and at the syntagmatic one as well; it is also worth mentioning that in the belles-lettres works the associative ties, on the one hand reveal the uniqueness of the figurative vision of an artist`s text, originality of his idiostyle, and on the other hand they encourage creative thinking of a reader, that is the associative ties would display vividly the modal and truly pragmatic structure of the artistic text
