Professional competencies of mathematics teachers in the state of Kuwait in the light of modern international standards

    No full text
The development of occupational competency, which matures and raises awareness within the educational process in general and specifically develops the instructor professionally. There has been much research regarding the matter by individual researchers and international scientific councils, their current research aims to investigate the reality of occupational competency and to its fulfilment towards mathematics instructors specifically in accordance to the obligatory international standards. This goal was achieved through the use of descriptive analytical methods of previous studies and known international standards. The results showed that interpersonal communication and class management were in the forefront, while cognitive skills and educational objectives were in the rear. This the result of a lack in preparatory programs given to the instructors during their service. Some studies also show that the teaching competency is relatively low. the results show that occupational competency related to subjective knowledge and the understanding of the student were relatively average. This is likely due to the personal inclinations of the instructor in the continuous application of traditional learning methods on one end, and the difference in culture between the instructor and learner one the other. As for the international standards for occupational competency set by (NCTM), (NSDC), and (NCATE) which were extracted and summarized in long term and short term planning and in terms of the competency of implementation and correction, it is recommended by current studies that more training courses be implemented to develop academic, occupational, and cultural competencies of mathematics instructors in light of recent international standards

This study aims at investigating the types, causes and effects of test anxiety on the psychology and academic achievement of secondary education students, as well as focusing on the way to face it by presenting certain mechanisms that are designed for this purpose. The researcher used the interpretive descriptive approach due to the fact that this approach is designed for studying, discussing and analysing cases, as well as for setting a number of results based on an analysis. The study came up with a set of results, the most important of which is that experiencing anxiety is something normal for a student, but what is not normal is when anxiety exceeds the normal levels and becomes a barrier that prevent the student from achieving success and progress. Also, the study concluded that relieving the effects of anxiety can be achieved depending on the students themselves, their families and relatives as well as their societies and schools with all their components. Moreover, the study recommended that all these social components work together to help students get rid of anxiety and its negative effects on their psychology and academic achievement

Nordic questionnaire to evaluate the musculoskeletal pain and ruff figural fluency test kit to evaluate their cognition. Results: The teachers inspite of the maximum engagement with curriculum, they have good academic performance, but the cognition is poor as the hours of the day passes by, it is due to the maximum stress they experience in dealing with their musculoskeletal pain

This research aims to identify formalistic aspects (design elements and principals) generally incorporated in school curriculum and the Faculty of Art & Design curriculum in creating drawings. Formalistic aspects present in drawings will be contrasted against each other via a special test conducted to selected respondents of two different phases – prior and after university enrollment, which involved of 105 respondents. They were Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) candidates that have undergone interview test prior to the Faculty of Art & Design of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Kelantan Branch September intake. During the second phase which was done after university enrollment, the same respondents were recruited to participate in the evaluation of their drawing skill. Currently, all respondents are at their second (02) semester in four programs offered at UiTM. Based on the analysis done to drawings created in the First Phase (before) and the Second Phase (after) university enrollment, several discoveries were made pertaining to the incorporation of formalistic aspects in drawing creation. From the results, several suggestions were presented. It is hoped that this work will lead to the improvement of the current high school curriculum in general and the curriculum of the Faculty of Art & Design, in particular, in order to ensure that art is elevated to a higher level in the face of future challenges

The coconutstands asthe fourthmostimportant industrial crop in Malaysia. It produces a myriad of products including nira water, usually involvesthe use of plastic bottles. Data collection wasinitiated by literature reviews, followed by direct observations and interviews to gather additional information relevant to the research. Three main issues were identified, namely accelerated fermentation process, nira water sours rapidly and rainwater seeping into nira water. Design process started with the establishment of design statement, followed by the criterias of design, namely aesthetics, product function, and ergonomics. Ideas and basic principles of nira water bottle product were brainstormed at Design Conception stage, progressing to its amalgamation into a single design at the Design Embodiment stage. The next stage is Selected Design, where the researcher produced rendering, detailed drawing and full-scale model. Details of proposed materials and production process were also prepared. Design process was completed with nira water bottle design appreciation via Feldman theory that comprises of four steps, namely description, analysis, interpretation, and evaluation. With this new nira water bottle design, it is hoped that the issues faced by nira water entrepreneurs in Malaysia could be somewhat mitigated. Hopefully this researchwill be a step forward in enhancing and upgrading the Malaysian coconut nira water industry, which is now seen as a potential source of wealth for the country, in addition to be on par with the world's leading producers of nira water

    No full text
COVID-19 is caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) causing deaths, illnesses and economic despair. The least developed countries have limited or lack of medicine, ventilators, beds, water electricity, availability of doctors’ service for a large population and facing challenges to handle the economic fallout of the crisis. Cholera patients are more likely to reside in a slum, and this triggers worries with higher infection and spread chances if they were to be contracted with coronavirus. Decrease maternal education and reduce family income could increase cholera risk in rural children. Low Socioeconomic status, clean water supply and limited healthcare facilities may pose risks of covid spread. Should an awareness and knowledge of covid 19 in cholera endemic setting is developed, it is the residents of poor nation that stand to benefit the most
