Social competence of twelfth grade students in public schools and private schools in the Jordanian Madaba governorate: a comparative study
After the researcher noticed the growing and varied manifestations of university violence through the various statistics
and media, and on the basis that the most important objectives of science are interpretation of phenomena, prediction and
control it, the researcher saw that he may contribute to identify some of the causes and factors for this phenomenon, and
provide the decision maker and the school curriculum designer some necessary data, which led to the study of the social
efficiency of students in the pre-university stage, the secondary school, in a comparative study between students of public
schools versus private schools in Madaba, Jordan, because of importance of the social efficiency of students and their
skills and social preparations in the Psychological and social adjustment with the subsequent stage, which is university
life. Using a measure of social competence, the researcher built it in four main dimensions and presented it to the
specialists for judging it, after applying it to a sample of 400 students, 200 of them were from private schools and 200
from public schools, there were statistically significant differences in the average scores of students in secondary schools
between public and private schools on the social efficiency scale in all its dimensions, and from the arithmetic averages, it
was found that these differences were in favor of public school students. As well as the existence of statistically
significant differences in the average scores of students between males and females on the scale of social efficiency in all
dimensions, and from the arithmetic averages show that these differences were in favor of females
Effects of branch bending angle on growth and flowering ofwax apple (Syzygium samarangense)
Wax apple or jambu madu as called by Malay, is a non-climacteric tropical fruit from the family Myrtaceae and scientifically
named as Syzygium samarangense. It is native to Malaysia, Indonesia and Philippine. Jambu madu (wax apple) grows to a
height of 5–15 m depending on the growing conditions. Manipulating the vegetative and reproductive growthsisthe goal of
growers and researchers in agriculture for fruit trees. Bending effects of flowering and fruiting remains the controversial
aspect of orchard. However, the optimum bending angle is yet to be elucidated. All the treatments represent different branch
bending angle which was at 5° (control), 20°, 45°, 65° and 85°. The results revealed that 65° and 85° provide the best results
in terms of enhancing flowering, fruit growth and quality of wax apple fruits. Bending increases the number, as well as the
quality of fruit. This study concludes bending has a significant effect on the development and growth patterns of wax apple
A modified Shamanskii accelerated scheme via diagonal Jacobian approximation for nonlinear equations
This paper presents a variation of Newton’s method, based on a diagonal Jacobian approximation
scheme on an accelerated Shamanskii process for systems of nonlinear equations especially on problems with
singular Fréchet derivative at the solution points. This method aims to reduce the computation cost and storage
requirements as in Newton-type methods. Numerical results are presented to illustrate the efficiency of the
proposed scheme
حنو تفسري بالغي جديد للنص القرآين: بعض ألفاظ سورة النساء أمنوذجا
There is much talk about renewal, abandoning the old tools of
interpretation, and looking for others to provide an interpretation
that is compatible with the Majesty of the text and keeping up
with the times, although the old books of interpretation have
fulfilled the times when they were made, they do not meet the
need of this time; The first is to say a lot, a broader statement, a
proof that is in a way that attracts the heart, a liar, a sore, a listen,
a less persuasion, fits in with the minds and thoughts of this time,
and an easier way to present the reception. This research came
from a series of efforts made throughout history to explain and
interpret the Qur'an's miracles to prove the uniqueness of some of
the Holy Qur'an's words, to illustrate its esthetics and to show its
language, the awe of its scope and its consistency with the various
contexts in which it was mentioned. The research will use the
complementary approach, which combines the historical approach
that follows the phenomenon in its origin, and the first to launch
and use it through times to its stability The language analysis
approach, which is useful in parsing words to understand meaning,
then the descriptive approach that monitors the characteristics
and features of the phenomenon, then the uniqueness, its
rhetorical effects, and its esthetic value. His graph, which is a
work of art, is involved under the technical curriculum. The study
thus came in the introduction to and the beginning of the
innovation in the science of interpretation, the first in the meaning
of renewal and interpretation, the second in the renewal of
interpretation, the third in the model of interpretation of a new
communication, and the final, with the sources and references of
research. This is not to say that the new chapter of Qur'anic
studies, in fulfillment of the Qur'an, and enrichment of its
language, has been added
Male is feminine under patriarchal governments: male characters of 1984 by George Orwell
Feminist criticism studies the ways in which literature enhances the economic, political, social
and psychological oppression of women. Patriarchy describes the power relationships between men and
women. Although the majority of the existing literature spots the light on the issue of violence against
women, violence against men is also a key feature of patriarchy. This paper aims at exploring how
patriarchy systems not only oppress women but men also are oppressed in patriarchal societies. With
relevance to male characters of Nineteen Eighty-Four, by George Orwell. It is a political satirical
dystopian science fiction novel, which has become universally recognized as Orwell’s seminal work. The
citizens of Oceania in the novel are under complete control of the totalitarian government. This paper will
not go through Orwell’s characteristics of a totalitarian state, but it is a study of how patriarchy system
oppresses Winston; who symbolizes all men in society who are suffering from under patriarchal
governments and comes to a conclusion that Winston is feminine in certain cases in his society
Chemical and biological investigation of apiculture products from stingless bees Heterotrigona itama
Heterotrigona itama is one of common stingless bee species in Malaysia. Similar to sting bee, stingless bee also produce honey, propolis and beebread in their hive. Propolis and beebread of Malaysian stingless bee were less explored compared to honey. This work examine nutritional content, antioxidant activity and chemical profiling of honey, propolis and beebread produced by stingless bee species Heterotrigona itama. Nutritional contents such as moisture content, ash, protein, fat and carbohydrate were measured. Antioxidant activity was determined using DPPH method; Folin-Ciocalteau method for total phenolic content (TPC) and Aluminium Chloride method for total flavonoid content (TFC). Chemical profiling was carried out by using thin layer chromatography (TLC) in solvent system of toluene: ethyl acetate: formic acid with ratio 8 : 2 : 0.1 v/v/v. The results revealed that honey possessed the highest moisture content and total carbohydrate with values of 30.67%±1.30 and 65.88%±1.70, respectively. Meanwhile, propolis contained the highest total fat (49.2% ± 5.31) which due to its compositions of wax and resin. Total protein and ash contents were abundant in beebread with values of 30.43%±0.40 and 3.28%±0.13, respectively. The highest total phenolic (70.64%±01.81 µg/mL) and flavonoid contents (31.75%±0.05 µg/mL) were found in propolis. Propolis also possessed the highest antioxidant activity with the lowest IC50 value of 5 µg/mL as comparable to positive control, Trolox (IC50 value: 3µg/mL). These results revealed that propolis is a good source of antioxidant as compared to honey and beebread. TLC analysis revealed that propolis also contained higher chemical compositions as compared to honey and beebread. This finding shows that stingless bee products have potential in therapeutic as strong natural antioxidant (propolis) and high in their nutritional content (honey and beebread)
On quasi-newton method for solving fuzzy nonlinear equations
This paper presents Quasi Newton’s (QN) approach for solving fuzzy nonlinear equations. The method
considers an approximation of the Jacobian matrix which is updated as the iteration progresses. Numerical
illustrations are carried, and the results shows that the proposed method is very encouraging
Small-scale Optimization of Recombinant Plasmodium knowlesi Apical Membrane Antigen 1 (rPkAMA1) Expression in Pichia pastoris
Plasmodium knowlesi is the fifth human malaria parasite widespread in the forested area of Southeast
Asia. In Malaysia, there were increasing cases of this zoonotic knowlesi malaria from 1,600 to over
4,000 incidences from 2016 to 2018, with 12 deaths occurred in 2018. Plasmodium species are obligate
intracellular parasites and apical membrane antigen 1 (AMA1) is one of the most prominent merozoite
surface protein and pivotal antimalarial drug targets, which plays a crucial role in parasites-host cells
invasion. The production of the soluble and functional active recombinant protein is essential for
downstream immunogenic and functional assays. Hence, the present study aims to optimize the
conditions for heterologous expression of an ectodomain of P. knowlesi AMA1 (PkAMA1) protein
using the Pichia pastoris system. Codon-optimized plasmid designated as PkAMA1-pPICZαA was
constructed and then cloned into Escherichia coli TOP10F’ as the amplification host followed by P.
pastoris KM71H as the expression host. Generally, two expression parameters were optimized: (i)
induction time based on four optical density (OD600 of 3, 4, 5 and 6) and (ii) methanol concentration for
induction (0.5%, 1%, 2% and 3%). Methanol induction was maintained every 24 hours up to 144 hours.
In each time point, one ml of the culture was harvested, cell pellet and supernatant fraction were then
visualized using 12% SDS-PAGE followed by Western blot validation. The recombinant PkAMA1
(rPkAMA1) expression conditions were successfully optimized. A soluble form of rPkAMA1 protein
with approximately 55 kDa was secreted into the buffered methanol-complex (BMMY) expression
medium. KM71H strain expressed a high level of rPkAMA1 protein and low endogenous secretory
proteins at the OD600 4 of induction time with 2% methanol concentration for induction. Large-scale
expression of rPkAMA1 will be carried out and the purified protein will be used for the downstream
immunogenic assay

Effect of Probiotic Lactobacillus Strains on Phagocytic Activity of Murine Macrophage Cells Infected by Aggregatibacter Actinomycetemcomitans
Periodontal diseases are prevalent inflammatory diseases affecting the periodontium stimulated by an oral
pathogen, Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans. Recently, there is an increasing interest in utilizing probiotic
as a bacteriotherapy treatment for oral diseases. Macrophages are innate immune cells that perform phagocytosis
and synthesis various cytokines when they encounter foreign particles. The aim study is to determine the
immunomodulation capacity of heat-killed probiotic Lactobacillus casei subsp. rhamnosus NBRC 3831 and L.
casei NBRC 15883 on the activation of RAW 264.7 murine macrophages in phagocytic activity and cytokines
secretion to counteract A. actinomycetemcomitans strain infection. In this study, we analyzed the effects of heatkilled L. casei subsp. rhamnosus NBRC 3831, and L. casei NBRC 15883 on the innate immune response. The
activity was evaluated based on the viability of macrophages, cytokines secretion, and macrophages' phagocytic
action. The introduction of probiotic lactobacilli significantly induced the phagocytic activity of macrophages as
compared to A. actinomycetemcomitans strains Y4 and ATCC 29524. Whereby L. casei NBRC 15883 showed the
highest (p < 0.01) phagocytic activity compared to other groups. Besides, there was lower macrophage death
when co-incubated with two tested lactobacilli strains, which indicated that lactic acid bacteria had the potential
to trigger macrophages proliferation. Interestingly, the number of viable macrophages that pre-activated by
probiotic before the addition of A. actinomycetemcomitans was higher than the untreated group. Moreover,
Lactobacillus sp. was found to promote and modulate the pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-8) by
murine macrophages against A. actinomycetemcomitans infection after 24 and 48 h incubation in a strain and
dose-specific pattern. In conclusion, probiotic Lactobacillus induce the phagocytosis activity, macrophage cell
proliferation, and the release of IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-8 cytokines to modulate the immune response. These findings
might provide crucial information on the efficacy of probiotic Lactobacillus in developing a promising candidate
against A. actinomycetemcomitans infections
