Identification of Psychological Training Strategies Essential for Volleyball Performance

    No full text
This chapter highlights the contribution of certain training psychological strategic elements in the prediction of players performance during the indoor volleyball tournament. It has been demonstrated from the study findings that training strategic variables that included attentional control, imagery, relaxation, activation, goal setting, emotional control, automaticity as well as self-talk are found to be non-trivial in predicting the performance of the elite volleyball players. It has also been demonstrated from the current finding that linear-based SVR is able to yield an accurate prediction of the performance of the players. It is then inferred that the ability of an athlete to develop a personal strategy for dealing with adversity could to a larger extend assist the athlete in delivering good performance during competition in this sport. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd

Adaptive latent fingerprint image segmentation and matching using chan-vese technique based on EDTV model

    No full text
Biometrics such as face, fingerprint , iris, voice and palm prints are the most widely used, and as well the fingerprints are one of the most frequently used biometrics to identify individuals and authenticate their identity. commonly categorized into three different categories which are rolled, plain and latent fingerprints. The reliability of image segmentation for latent fingerprint which is used in criminal issues still challenges, The difficulty of latent fingerprint image segmentation mainly lies in the poor quality of fingerprint patterns and the presence of the noise in the background, This research has investigated the fingerprint segmentation and matching based on EDTV and presented Chan-vese active contour segmentation technique, in addition, presented NIST SD27 for grayscale dataset of latent fingerprint which is standard by National Institute of Standard and Technology, where is dataset have varieties of fingerprint image samples, a total about 258 of latent fingerprint , those samples collected from crime scenes and matching fingerprint and shown the performance of matching accuracy ROC and CMC curves, To evaluate the performance of the matching ROC and CMC curves has been deployed, The area under curve (AUC) of the ROC of the good images performance is 72% with CMC rank1-idnetification of 42% and rank-20 identification of 79%. the result shows that the latent fingerprint method performance is better for good latent fingerprint images compare to bad and ugly images, while there is no much difference for bad and ugly image

The mediating role of place attachment on the perceived value & destination loyalty relationship: A conceptual model

    No full text
Terengganu is one of the states in Malaysia that possesses the advantages of having beautiful islands and delicious local foods Despite having these competitive advantages. recent statistics reported that Terengganu is among the least states in Malaysia receiving local tourist arrivals. Therefore. it is important to improve destination loyalty to increase domestic tourist arrivals to Terengganu. Hence, the study's main objective is to develop a new conceptual model comprising the relationship of perceived value, place attachment. and destination loyalty among domestic tourists In Terengganu. Most importantly. this study proposes to examine the mediating effect of place attachment on the relationship between perceived value and destination loyalty because limited number of studies have tested this mediating effect. Thus, the study introduces a new conceptual model to researchers and practitioners to better understand the concept of perceived value and place attachment to enhance domestic touring' loyalty to Terengganu

Automatic chili seeds remover for household and small-medium enterprises as an alternative of hand cutting method

    No full text
Chili is the main ingredient and one of the spices that is widely used to improve flavor in the meal. Spicy meals provided with dried chili make some people feel spicy yet delicious and they become more desirable to be eaten. Naturally, chili contains a large number of seeds and it became more challenging to separate the seeds from the chili. It takes longer time and a lot of manpower to prepare dried chili paste manually. Hence to reduce meal preparation time, some people opted for the use of instant chili paste in their cooking. However, the chili paste contains additional preservatives to ensure longer shelf life. This situation is unfavorable for the consumer's health. On the other hand, the existing chili seed remover is large and expensive and only suitable for the large food industry application. The purpose of this study is to design and develop a beta prototype of an automatic dried chili seed remover machine (ADCSRM) which is ergonomic and portable and can be tested with different weights of dried chili per operation. It is also can help the small industry and the housewife to optimize their works. ADCSRM is designed to cut dried chili and remove the seeds by using specifically designed blade. This machine has seven main parts and used a blender motor with adjustable speed function. The result of this study showed that the ADCSRM machine can separate a minumum of 50 g up to 250 g of dried chili per operation. The maximum time for each operation is around 40-45 s depending on the weight of dried chili input. The machine was invented in a small size with a simple mechanism and easy to use. In conclusion, by using ADCSRM it can reduce the meal preparation time, number of labor as well as the cost of chili paste preparation

Detection, antibiogram and molecular characterization of MRSA and MSSA isolated from swine

The emergence of bacteria with antimicrobial resistance traits such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in food-producing animals is a significant public health concern. The aim of this study is to determine the prevalence rate, antibiotic susceptibility and the molecular characteristics of Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) in swine from selected swine farms in Peninsular Malaysia. The oral and nasal swabs of 200 live swine were collected. Screening and isolation of S. aureus isolates were carried out using phenotypic identification techniques. The identity of the bacteria isolates was confirmed by detection of nuc gene (S. aureus) and mecA gene (MRSA). Antibiogram of S. aureus against 19 antibiotics was developed using Kirby-Bauer test. Molecular detections of antimicrobial resistance and virulence genes as well spa typing of S. aureus was carried out. 25% of swine were carrying S. aureus with 9% being MRSA carriers. S. aureus and MRSA have shown high resistance against clindamycin, tetracycline, chloramphenicol, oxacillin, penicillin, erythromycin, cefoxitin and amoxicillin/clavulanate. Antimicrobial resistance and virulence genes, including tetK, tetL, tetM, ermA, ermB, ermC, msrA and scn genes were detected. 93% of S. aureus were multiple-drug resistant (MDR), suggesting the emergence of MDR S. aureus in swine in Malaysia

Discriminant Validity: A Comparison of CBSEM and Consistent PLS using Fornell & Larcker and HTMT Approaches

    No full text
Discriminant validity is recognized as the essential approach in structural equation modelling method to determine the construct uniqueness in a research model. Using this approach, the applied researchers can identify the distinction role on each construct applied in the study. To date, there are several available approaches has been introduced to perform the discriminant validity. In applied research, the Fornell & Larcker approach is known as the method of choice for discriminant validity. Thus, this study attempt to make a comparison Fornell & Larcker approach with HTMT using CBSEM and Consistent PLS. From here, the results revealed that HTMT based Consistent PLS approach is comparable to Fornell & Larcker based CBSEM but not empirical standard to Fornell & Larcker based Consistent PLS. The discussion and recommendations also provided for this justifications
