Radioscapholunate fusion under wide awake surgery
Objectives / Interrogation: Scaphoid-non-union-advance collapse (SNAC) or scapholunate-advance collapse (SLAC) is one of the
associated conditions following neglected unstable scaphoid fracture. Surgical treatment for degenerative joint disease of the
radioscapholunate joint is arthrodesis. We document a radioscapholunate fusion done under wide awake surgery. The reason was
due to limited general anaesthetic time.
A 39-year-old-male sustained a motor vehicle accident and fell onto his outstretched right hand. Three months later he presented
with worsening right wrist pain and limited range of motion for the past 3 months. He initially did not seek treatment as he
thought it was just a sprain until his wrist pain had worsened considerably.
Methods: The RSL joint arthrodesis was done under local anesthesia using the "Walant" technique, also known as
"wide-awake-local-anesthesia-no-tourniquet". Tumescent anesthesia technique was used to infiltrate the surrounding surgical
field. Four different regions were injected with 10cc of anaesthetic solution beginning from 1) the subcutaneous area over the
incision site surrounding the dorsal area of the wrist, 2) subperiosteally to the distal radius, 3) into the radial-scaphoid-lunate joint
and 4) surrounding the carpal region. The solution comprised of normal saline, lignocaine, sodium bicarbonate and adrenaline with
the adrenaline at a diluted strength of 1:100 000.
Results and Conclusions: The surgery was successfully completed within 1.5 hours with a NPRS (numerical pain rating score) of
0/10. There was no requirement for top-up injection. Thus, it is possible to utilize wide-awake-local-anesthesia-no-tourniquet
(walant) for limited wrist fusion such as in RSL arthrodesis. As this is an elective surgery, it can be done earlier under daycare
surgery saving potential cost for the patient and providing earlier pain relief
Ontology Modeling of Intangible Cultural Heritage Terengganu Brassware Craft
Cultural heritage needs to be preserved for the younger generation. Terengganu brassware craftsmanship is one of the
local intangible heritage which is now becoming extinct with the death of craftsmen and lack of interest and continuity
by the younger generation. Therefore, the development of Terengganu brassware craft ontology is one approach to
preserve this heritage. This paper discusses the process of modeling domain knowledge of this traditional
craftsmanship. Ontology Development (OD ) is as ontology modeling method that consists of five phases;
specification, integration, conceptualization, implementation and evaluation. This ontology has successfully modelled
the domain knowledge of traditional craftsmanship. Verification of accuracy and correctness of information was done
using SPARQL query. The iterative process emphasized by OD enables new ontology developers to model
ontologies effortlessly and with more flexibility
Measuring the level of ability to pay flood insurance premiums and the factors that influence it by using the contingent valuation method
One of the efforts to alleviate the risk of loss of building damage due to flooding of the Citarum River is by buying
insurance. But not all people in the Citarum watershed are able to buy flood insurance. In this paper aims at
identifying, mapping of flood-prone areas and flood mitigation. It is assumed that there are eight variables that affect
the ability to purchase flood insurance, including: income level, education level, respondent's age, number of family
members, perception of damage impact, distance of house to river, elaboration of buildings by road, and experience of
flood frequency. Measurement analysis is done using the Contingent Valuation Method approach, and uses multiple
linear regression models. Based on the results of the analysis shows that the variables of income, age, level of
education, and number of family members significantly influence the ability to buy flood insurance. This is expected to
be a consideration for insurance companies, to determine flood insurance premium rates in the Citarum river basin,
to be affordable by many peopl
Effect contextual factor toward entrepreneurial intention among young educated
Young people are the successor to the nation; the progress or decline of the nation depends on youth. Young is agents
of change. When young people want to become entrepreneurs increasingly, it expected that there would be an
increase in the national economy. This study aims to investigate the factors that encourage the intention of young
people to pursue the world of entrepreneurship. The number of respondents gathered was 217. This study involved
young people educated in the city of Pekanbaru, Indonesia, from Riau College of Economics, Prakarti Mulia College of
Economics, Pelita Indonesia College of Economics. The young people are young people at the Degre level. The
distribution of questionnaires in the study was selected using simple random sampling. The results showed social
support correlated with entrepreneurial intention means strong, meaningful, and unidirectional, while supporting the
environment implies less strong, meaningful and not unidirectiona
Serious game design for terengganu brassware craft heritage
Serious games are increasingly used in various fields such as cultural heritage. The Terengganu brassware craft is
becoming extinct due to several factors such as lack of interest from the younger generation and lack of apprentice.
The use of serious games in cultural heritage is significant to attract and engage the younger generation to preserve
and conserve the cultural heritage. In order to develop an effective serious game, a good design is required. This study
focused on the design phase to develop a serious game for Terengganu brassware craft cultural heritage. There are
several activities involved in designing this game including the preparation of game design document, level design,
character design and game interface design. The outcome of this design is a low fidelity prototype - a storyboard
using sketching technique. The testing phase would be carried out on the low fidelity prototype to ensure that the
design meets the requirements of the target user
Radio frequency identification (RFID) range test for animal activity monitoring
Object tracking is an important application in which applicable in many areas, included but not limited to tracking the
items in shopping malls, or instrument tracking in factories/industrial areas. The application of Radio Frequency
Identification (RFID) for object tracking has expanded not to only object tracking but also cover human monitoring
(e.g. workers monitoring, marathon monitoring) and livestock monitoring. Advantages of using RFID compared to
other wireless technologies for monitoring applications is that multiple objects can be detected simultaneously. The
aim of this paper is to characterize the RFID readability in relation to operational factors, orientation and range. The
outcome of this research is useful as a reference for future works. This study will provide a feasibility study on the use
of Ultra High Frequency (UHF) solutions for future studies focusing on animal tracking. This work used ThingMagic
M6e RFID reader from JADAK as the RFID reader and the maximum detection range for different RFID tags were
identified. In addition, this work also investigates different GEN-2 setting such as Tari. Despite using the
commercialized tags, this study was conducted to investigate the characteristic of the tags in the real-deployment
environment (for goat monitoring). The eating behaviour of each goat is then monitored through the Received Signal
Strength Indicator (RSSI) between tag and reade
Challenges and opportunities in goat commercialization and industry in the ASEAN region (for viability and sustainability)
The population of goat globally is around 1 billion head, mainly in Asia. Goats are reared traditionally by smallholders with low productivity, lack of technology and poor management for meat and milk production for their livelihood. In the Asean region, goat production is gaining popularity, particularly in Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam. Goat meat can be eaten by all human population of the world without restriction to religion, culture and social prohibition. Therefore, Asean countries should capitalize on this opportunity to promote goat industry and commercialization not only for the wellbeing of the small farmers but also as a niche for income generation as well as for food security and safety for the stakeholder's countries in Asean. However, some pertinent challenges and constraints which include the improvement of adaptable goat breeds with superior meat and milk production, improve GAHP, control of diseases, viable and sustainable strategic development program, government policy, feed improvement, human capital development program, socio-cultural practices and good marketing strategies, inter alia, must holistically be addressed first. It is possible that in the near future Asean will be the goat commercialization and industry hub globally in- line with the progress of other livestock animals such as cattle, sheep, swine and poultry

iMHS: An IOT Embedded for Aedes Mosquito Home System
The proposed of Intelligent Mosquitoes Home System
(iMHS) encompasses of a complete Internet of Things (IoT) based
solution. This IoT solution shall leverage the complete eco-system
consisting of the devices (i.e.Sensors), the network connectivity,
the cloud computing platform, the data analytics and a
comprehensive web based system. The fundamental component of
IoT embedded solution is the optimization of the device from the
low-power wide-area network which is designed to enable
battery-powered devices to operate with a long read range. This
research is to enable a suitable method to detect to status level of
fluid (Attractors), or also called as Insecticide Growth Regulator
(IGR) that is equipped together in the Mosquito Home System
(MH). The IGR status is plotted in three (3) different status i.e.
low, medium or high by using the appropriate sensors
components. Here, the battery capacity is crucial to allow for a
well-received and consistent communication between sensors and
signal receivers. Data sent or received is processed and inserted
into a database on a public server (Cloud Server). In this research,
we deployed an Arduino water level sensor that is controlled by
NodeMCU (ESP8266) module as the microcontroller that is
powered by AA Battery pack. Prior to implementation, the result
of the battery sustainability in iMHS shows that it could last for 10
days under setting with 15 interval time, assuming under normal
working condition
