Dogs experience tissue, muscle, elbow, and hip problems when jumping in and out of vehicles, truck beds, etc. This is proven by a study shown by Dr. Alison Wills at Hartpury University, where she tested the stress/ force being put on dogs when they jump into and out of vehicles. Our project is to give pet owners or veterinarians a safe and reliable way to let dogs enter and exit vehicles or heightened areas without picking them up or having them jump. We are designing a project that allows the consumer to have a portable device that can transform from a ramp to steps depending on dog preference
The Correlation of the Popularity of E-commerce Websites and the 6 Metrics of the Lighthouse Performance Score
The research analyzes the correlation between the popularity of E-commerce websites and their Lighthouse Performance Scores while placing a focus on six key metrics: First Contentful Paint (FCP), Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), Speed Index (SI), Time to Interactive (TTI), Total Blocking Time (TBT), and Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS). The purpose of the study is to identify whether Lighthouse scores have an impact on user numbers, which then can assist in further developing other websites. In the study, the top 50 E-commerce websites were analyzed using webpagetest.org’s Lighthouse feature. It was hypothesized that the most popular websites would have the fastest Lighthouse performance scores. Figures 2-7 show that the data that was collected for each metric has scattered points throughout the graph, indicating that there is not a clear correlation curve present. Additionally, Tables 7-12 show how the correlation regression test provided P-values that were greater than the alpha value of 0.05. The findings failed to reject the null hypothesis showing that the demand for a website does not correlate to the Lighthouse Performance Scores in terms of these six metrics
High School Students Preference between GMO and Organic Foods
The overall purpose of this research project is to find if there is a correlation between consumer preference of GMO and organic products. This research was conducted through a Google Form that was given out to people at Chapin High School. They were asked what their preferences were on GMO and organic products in multiple different food categories. Then the data was able to be compared to see if there was truly a correlation between the two or not. This allowed me to test different food groups to see if there were also certain preferences in those as well. This project helped to show if in the High School age range in students actually cared about what they are eating and if they had a preference between the two different products
The Effect of Electric Guitar Chord on the Sound Insulation of Acoustic Foam, Expanded Polystyrene Foam, and Polyurethane Foam
The prevalence of excessive ambient noise from the modern environment overworks our auditory system, simultaneously diminishing attention spans and destroying hearing over time. In an attempt to block out sound, some people may cause more ear problems by using objects like earplugs, or the noise cancellation mode on Airpods. This research aims to evaluate a selection of foams to quantify their efficiency in insulating the high decibels coming from electric guitars. To test the insulation of each foam, a drywall box was made with the foam on the inside. The amplifier was placed, the noise was played through the electric guitar, and recorded with the app on a phone, NIOSH SLM. The results of this experiment concluded that acoustic foam is the best sound insulator when it is compared with polyurethane and expanded polystyrene foam (styrofoam) because it had a lower mean amplitude recorded. The data was analyzed using a Two-Way ANOVA and a One-Way ANOVA. The p-value was 0.002 (p\u3c0.05), which means the null hypothesis is rejected and a significant difference does exist
Antibacterial Assessment of Siratia grosvenorii sweetener on Staphylococcus epidermidis Through Zones of Inhibition
This paper explores the impact of monk fruit sweeteners on the growth of Staphylococcus epidermidis, a bacterium associated with various infections. Understanding the effects of sweeteners is essential due to the issue of rising obesity over the past decade. Notably, artificial sweeteners have been identified as contributing factors to the increasing prevalence of obesity. Therefore, investigating the potential impact of monk fruit sweeteners on bacterial growth becomes imperative in the broader context of health concerns related to sweetener consumption. In contrast with artificial sweeteners, Siratia grosvenorii (monk fruit) is a traditional medicine found in Southern China and Thailand. Monk fruit sweetener is tested for its potential health benefits. Previous research indicating antibacterial properties in monk fruit extract has suggested the presence of potential advantages over synthetic sweeteners. This study tested different concentrations of monk fruit sweetener solutions (5%, 7%, and 9%) using the Kirby-Bauer method to test for the concentrations’ effectiveness. The hypothesis suggested that higher concentrations of monk fruit sweetener would result in less Staphylococcus epidermidis growth, similar to antibiotics. The research aimed to discover if monk fruit sweetener has any additional health benefits in addition to being natural. The results were inconclusive. However, future research in this area could address major health concerns related to bacterial infections
