Enhancing the Honors Program Experience
The Governors State University Honors Program is now entering its 22nd year as an Honors Program. As Honors Program Co-Chair, I was tasked with researching student-centered initiatives to help enhance the honors experience by attending the National Collegiate Honors Council Conference. One such initiative is creating a “Video Lecture Series” where campus faculty, outside organizations, or students have to ability to impart their knowledge to others. As an Honors Program, we value students who have a commitment to becoming life-long learners, and a “Video Lecture Series” would facilitate beneficial professional development. Not only do we value student achievement, but we also value student health and wellness. As students continually strive to better themselves, there must be an emphasis on one’s mental health. The Honors Program can contribute to mental health advocacy through a Mindfulness Ambassador position for the Student Council. This position would coordinate wellness activities throughout the year for honors students and work closely with the Health and Wellness Center. Lastly, the Honors Program can foster social support networks through Honors Program Peer Mentoring. Inviting experienced Honors Program students to become mentors create opportunities to discuss student-centered issues, allowing for the enrichment of the mentee’s Honors Program experience. Mentors are additionally provided a unique opportunity to hone their leadership skills and inspire future generations of Honors Program students. The future for the GSU Honors Program is bright as long as we continue to push the boundaries and redefine what our Honors Program truly represents.

Utilization of the McKenzie System of Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment (MDT) for Shoulder Pain - A Retrospective Case Report
Background and Purpose: MDT is a method used to classify impairment and directional preference to guide exercise intervention. Rotator cuff tears can have a detrimental effect on a person’s livelihood and ability to perform daily activities and participate in extracurricular activities. This case study is a way to demonstrate how MDT can assist the clinician with diagnosis and exercise prescription. Case Description: LS is a middle-aged male with a medical diagnosis of a left rotator cuff tear resulting in pain which limits his ability to sleep, reach overhead, and perform ADLs. Outcomes: Six weeks of physical therapy intervention consisting of left shoulder IR direction preference, strengthening, ROM, and functional exercise resulted in LS meeting most of his goals. He regained his strength and ability to sleep throughout the night, reach overhead, and dress his upper body without pain. He almost met his ROM goals for shoulder flexion and abduction, but fully met his shoulder IR and ER ROM goals. Discussion: Rotator cuff tears can limit a person’s ability to perform daily activities and participate in their extracurricular activities. Utilization of the MDT method can provide a direction in which to prescribe treatment. Adherence to an exercise regimen is the key to recovery.

R Stack Career
The Career Engine\u27s main purpose is to create a platform for job searchers to find suitable and gratifying work based on their qualifications. It also connects job searchers with the recruiting process. This career engine recognizes when a job seeker applies for a job and when a company publishes a job and chooses a candidate. A career engine\u27s principal objective is to aid job searchers in getting a quick career. In today\u27s society, there are several employment portal platforms. In this case, we must create a web-based application utilizing the Career Engine. In this period of decline, everyone, experienced or unskilled, is seeking for a job. Our career engine might be quite beneficial since it allows people with a variety of profiles to submit their CVs and search for employment depending on their qualifications. Each user may connect with their user id and apply for many jobs at the same time. Our team opted to build the website with the MVC framework in Dot Net Core for the backend and HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, JavaScript, and Ajax for the front end, with data saved in MS-SQL. The career engine system is used by Applicants, Recruiters, and Administrators. The administrator oversees the entire application. Recruiters can post job openings as needed. Applicants may submit a CV containing both personal and professional information
