No full textThe growing number of people who contracted Covid and are now being considered post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection (PASC) or Covid long haulers is alarming. Symptoms include fatigue, dyspnea, cough, chest tightness, difficulty concentrating, headache, and general joint pain. There has been little research in regards to the physical therapy management of this patient population. The purpose of this case report is to provide a framework on treating individuals with PASC in the outpatient physical therapy setting.

Physical therapy Treatment Of a Non-Surgical Bimalleolar Ankle Fracture: A Retrospective Case Report
No full textBackground/Purpose: Ankle fractures are becoming more frequent in the aging adult patient population. Depending on the severity of the fracture, surgical fixation may be required; diagnostic imaging can aid the decision process for invasive or conservative treatments of ankle fractures. There is a lack of standardized physical therapy protocols to follow for non-surgical bimalleolar fractures and therefore the purpose of this retrospective case report is to describe the examination, interventions, and outcomes of physical therapy treatment. Case Description: The patient was a 49-year-old male who experienced a left bimalleolar ankle fracture that followed a crush injury. The patient did not require surgical repair due to the severity determined by the diagnostic imaging performed in the emergency department. The patient was immobilized in a cast for six weeks, followed by three weeks in a CAM boot. The patient began physical therapy intervention 39 days after the injury. The following interventions were utilized: manual therapy techniques, dry needling, cupping, therapeutic exercise and activity, and neuromuscular re-education.
Outcomes: The lower extremity functional scale (LEFS) was used to assess the patient’s level of function. The patient’s score was 33 at the time of the initial physical therapy evaluation and improved to 80 by discharge from physical therapy. The patient’s pain in the left ankle was abolished by the 8th visit. The left ankle presented with decreased range of motion and strength, compared to the unimpaired side, at the first physical therapy visit and made quick improvements leading to an early discharge. The patient also demonstrated improved functional movements with no compensations at the end of the patient’s plan of care. Discussion: Improvements were seen across all measurements which supports the use of conservative treatment approach and the use of exercises that focused on strength, balance, and proprioception to assist in returning patients to their prior level of function. The patient did go against the physical therapist’s recommendations for the timeframe of returning to previous high-impact activities. This resulted in increased pain following the activity. Additional studies should be performed to assess the effect of patient’s compliance to physical therapists’ recommendation following a bi-malleolar fracture.

Exploring the Impact of Bilingualism on Dementia: A Comprehensive Review
No full textThis paper aims to explore the complex, dynamic relationship between bilingualism and individuals diagnosed with dementia by delving into and discussing implications regarding A) the potential of bilingualism to delay the onset or presentation of symptoms of dementia and B) whether or not both languages are impaired in a parallel manner. Furthermore, this paper provides insight into appropriate assessment options and offers various treatment deliberations for bilingual individuals diagnosed with dementia, and poses inquiries into future research in this field. A wide-ranging analysis of past research demonstrates mixed results in proving bilinguals have a cognitive advantage in comparison to monolinguals, requiring the demand for further investigation. Additionally, researchers have not been able to definitively validate the parallel impairment theory, but their findings corroborate the view that both L1 and L2 are affected in a bilingual individual with dementia, though the degree of each is undetermined due to the highly unique nature of the individual and diagnosis. A comprehensive review of the literature and past studies demonstrates an overwhelming need for more robust research to test and develop dynamic, appropriate, holistic measures to assess and treat bilingual individuals who have dementia. As further research develops, SLPs and other clinicians will be responsible for following the evidence and subsequently integrating these findings into their plan of care.

Get PDFThe Rent-a-Car application will improve the efficiency of the web-based Rental Car business. A renter can reserve a car from anywhere in the world. Renters from all around the world will be able to book cars through our website. The owner enters their vehicle information, which is shown on the main page. A renter who has registered on the website has the option of reserving the car they require. The renter pays the owner for the car rental and can reserve it whenever they want. The money will be deposited into the car owner\u27s account. The vehicle\u27s condition and details have been approved by the administrator. This automatic method assists the renter and owner by filling out the information based on their requirements.
Our application has three consoles. Owner, Admin, and Renters The administrator can manage both the owner and the renter. Owners can only manage their vehicles, bookings, and so on. Renters can view their profile, booking history, and other information. We are using .NET Core logic in Visual Studio to create the application that will handle the functionalities

Finding people who are talented, intelligent, and competent enough to be given a position at that time is challenging. Companies are working harder than ever to find people who can meet their needs.[1] Thousands of applicants are competing for one job opening. When considering these difficulties, one may come up with a strategy or approach that can help manage and control them while also simplifying the work. The goal of this project is to find that one thing that will not only connect job searchers and employers but also streamline the online application process. Here, the hiring procedure is managed by the system. This project will make it possible for job seekers from various walks of life to apply for a position in the organization for a potentially exciting job opening. Job seekers can utilize the application to update their profile information, competencies, and skill set. When job seeker applies for a position, they create an account and are referred to as the applied user.[1] User will get in touch with the recruiter to get updates if user were qualified. The recruiters, on the other hand, have the opportunity to post any new job openings they may have in their companies, interact with applicants if necessary, and interview qualified applicants. This system will be entirely under the admin\u27s control, with the lone exception of the evaluation procedure, which is company-specific and hence unpredictable. The management of users, roles, and job listings is also included. Although this is a modernized and improved version of the current process or system, it is by no means a novel concept. It\u27s anticipated that this application will go live in the first week of December 2022
