    Bu araştırmada çevrimiçi ortamda yürütülen senaryo temelli öğrenme etkinliklerinin sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının Türkçe öğretimine yönelik özyeterlikleri, akademik güdülenmeleri ve Türkçe öğretimi dersi başarı düzeyleri üzerine etkisi incelenmiştir. Öntest-sontest kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel deneme modeline göre desenlenen araştırma, 56 sınıf öğretmeni adayının katılımıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Deney grubuna altı hafta boyunca Türkçe öğretimi derslerine ek olarak senaryo temelli öğrenme etkinlikleri uygulanmıştır. Kontrol grubunda ise herhangi bir ek uygulama gerçekleştirilmemiştir. Uygulama sürecinin ardından toplanan verilerin analizi sonucunda elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda deney ve kontrol grubu Türkçe öğretimi özyeterlik sontest puanları arasında anlamlı bir farklılığa rastlanılmamıştır fakat senaryo temelli öğrenme etkinliklerinin sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının Türkçe öğretimine yönelik özyeterliklerini geliştirdiği, akademik güdülenmeleri üzerinde anlamlı bir etkisinin olmadığı ve Türkçe öğretimi başarı düzeyleri üzerinde anlamlı bir etkisinin olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.In this research, the effect of scenario based learning activities conducted in online environment on primary school prospective teachers’ Turkish teaching self-efficacy, academic motivation and Turkish teaching achievement levels were examined. The research, which was designed according to the quasi-experimental trial model with the pretest-posttest control group, was carried out with the participation of 56 primary school prospective teachers. In addition to Turkish teaching lessons, scenario-based learning activities were applied to the experimental group for six weeks. In the control group, no additional application was performed. In line with the findings obtained as a result of the analysis of the data collected after the implementation process, no significant difference was found between the Turkish teaching self-efficacy posttest scores of the experimental and control groups, but scenario-based learning activities improved the primary school prospective teachers’ self-efficacy Turkish teaching, did not have a significant effect on their academic motivation, and Turkish teaching success levels was concluded that there was a significant effect on

    Real Bounce Forward: Experimental Evidence on Destination Crisis Marketing, Destination Trust, e-WOM and Global Expat’s Willingness to Travel during and after COVID-19

    The nexus of global tourism, disasters and sustainability have always been triggered by numerous crises, e.g., political unrest, wars, and pandemics. However, there is still fragmented research on destination crisis marketing, and its impact on willingness to travel remains largely unknown. To address this critical research gap, the present study used an experimental research design by framing destination crisis marketing campaigns (2 × 2 frames including DCM implemented versus DCM not implemented) and electronic word of mouth (2 × 2 frames including positive e-Wom versus negative e-Wom) to examine their impact on destination trust and global expat’s willingness to travel. Based on the experimental settings of global expats (N = 232; representing over 10 nationalities) with four framing groups (Group 1 to Group 4, configured in frames as ± DCM and ± e-Wom), the new evidence suggests that global expats who are provoked by positive crisis marketing campaigns and positive e-Wom (Group 4) have higher levels of destination trust than those who are exposed to either negative crisis marketing scenario and/or negative e-Wom (i.e., Group 1 to Group 3). The findings also revealed that global expat’s willingness to travel is significantly influenced by destination crisis marketing campaigns and e-Wom. Interestingly, for all framing groups (Group 1 to Group 4), the effects of destination crisis marketing and e-WOM on expat’s willingness to travel, was significantly mediated by destination trust. Utilizing prominent theories (i.e., signal theory, image repair theory and trust transfer theory), the study implications highlighted that crisis marketing and positive e-Wom could serve as the cornerstones for destinations to stay relevant, regenerate sustainable practices, as well as create new opportunities out of a crisi

    Hyponatremic-hypertensive Syndrome in a 19-month-old Boy with Renovascular Hypertension

    Hyponatremic-hypertensive syndrome (HHS) is an uncommon disorder rarely seen in children. Herein, we report a 19-month-old boy with HHS. He had severe hypertension, polyuria, polydipsia, vomiting, and seizure at presentation. Laboratory findings revealed hyponatremia, hypokalemia, metabolic alkalosis, proteinuria, hypercalciuria, high levels of renin and aldosterone, and renal artery stenosis. All symptoms resolved after nephrectomy. Clinicians should be aware of this syndrome because prompt recognition can be lifesaving

    Objective: The aim of study of this study is to evaluate the hand surgery fellow ship education program in terms of Turkey's productivity in the hand and wrist literature Methods: Original articles published in Ave highly cited hand surgery journals between 2009 and 2019 were investigated, In order to examine the increase in quantity and quality of the published articles over time, the publications were divided into two groups according to two equal time periods (A=01.01.2009-30.06.2014 and B=01.07.2014-31.12.2019 period). Period A represented the period before the hand surgery subspecialty training program, and period B represented the period after it. Results: A total of 5,179 articles on hand and wrist research from five journals were identified in the database of Web of Science from 2009 to 2019. It was found that 51.5% (n=2,665) of the studies were published in period A and 48.5% (n=2514) were published in period B. Turkey had 34 publication in period A (ranked 15th) and 55 publication in period B (ranked 11th). Contribution of Turkey to the total hand and wrist research increased by 69.2% (1.3% versus 2.2%) between the two periods, and a significant increase was observed in articles from 2009 to 2019 in Turkey (R2=0.67, p=0,003) Conclusion: We observed a significant increase in the number of articles about hand and wrist research from Turkey after hand surgery fellowship education program. Hand surgery fellowship training program positively affected scientific productivity of Turkey

    Fenolni profil, antioksidantno i antiproliferativno delovanje Convolvulus aucheri Choisy

    Background/Aim. It is known that some members of the genus Convolvulus (C) L. are commonly used in Turkish folk medicine. These species are powerful in curing toothache and joint pains. Due to the limited information on the biological activities of C aucheri, a species almost exclusively occurring in Turkey, we aimed to investigate the antioxidant and cytotoxic effects of three extracts obtained from the plant, as well as to characterize their phenolic profile. Methods. The antioxidant activity of the extracts was determined by using ABTS, NO, FRAP, phosphomolybdenum, and metal chelating assays. In addition, the bioactive compounds found in the extracts, such as total phenolics, flavonoids, and saponins, were determined. Cytotoxicity was assessed by using the CellTiter-Glo assay on HeLa and H1299 cancer cells. Results. The methanol extract of C. aucheri demonstrated the highest antioxidant activity as well as the highest phenolic, flavonoid, and saponin content. The high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis showed that the major phenolic compounds in the extract were chlorogenic acid, (+)-catechin, rosmarinic acid, and rutin. The methanolic extract obtained from the aerial parts of C. aucheri was found to interfere with the viability of HeLa cells, with an IC50 value of 14.22 mu g/mL being recorded. Conclusion. Our results showed that C aucheri could be a good candidate as a novel and alternative natural antioxidant and antitumor source

    MagMin_PT: An Excel-based mineral classification and geothermobarometry program for magmatic rocks

    Igneous rock forming minerals carry valuable information from the deep earth that is not directly accessible to the surface. Each phase represents physico-chemical conditions under which various magmatic processes occur at a wide range of depths from upper mantle to shallow crustal levels. These processes are cryptically inscribed in the whole-rock and mineral chemistry (e.g. major elements, trace elements, isotopic ratios) and the mineral textures (equilibrium vs. disequilibrium features), and intensive variables (e.g. pressure, P; temperature, T) as well. Therefore, special attention should be given to igneous minerals to better understand processes operated in their journey from source through magma chamber and conduit system to the earth surface. MagMin_PT is an Excel© based user-friendly program, designed to calculate mineral formulae and end-members, and to estimate pressure and temperature (e.g. geothermobarometry) from electron microprobe (EPMA) data, from magmatic rocks. The program operates the most common igneous rock-forming minerals (e.g. olivine, pyroxene, amphibole, biotite, feldspar, magnetite, ilmenite, apatite and zircon), resulting in various classification diagrams and P-T plots. Whole-rock or glass composition needs to be entered together with EPMA data into the program to check equilibration status in most P-T calculation models. Fe2+ and Fe3+ estimation is routinely performed in MagMin_PT based on the stoichiometric constrains, and machine learning method to some extent for different iron-bearing minerals. MagMin_PT is also able to carry out further calculations including fugacity, magmatic water content and saturation-temperature which are useful for igneous petrology studies.     A Decentralized Resource Management System Proposal For Disasters: NGO-RMSD (STK-AKYS)

    Disaster and emergency management are under the responsibility of many organizations and there are serious coordination problems in post-disaster crisis management. This paper proposes a decentralized non-governmental organization resource management system for disasters (NGO-RMSD / STK-AKYS). This system is based on blockchain technology and it will enable the non-governmental organizations (NGO) and public institutions to manage and coordinate the resources in a trusted environment in the case of disasters. A proof of concept implementation is developed by using the Quorum blockchain framework which is more energy-efficient than crypto currency-based blockchain solutions. Smart contracts are developed for the autonomous working of the system. These smart contacts are used for the verification of the needs of the one who is in need, delivering resources to the right people, and identifying the urgent needs. The system aims to reach more disaster victims in a more timely manner. NGO-RMSD is designed according to the needs of the NGOs in the field.     Ultra-trace determination of mercury by platinum-coated tungsten coil trapping cold vapour atomic absorption spectrometry

    Within the scope of this study, a simple, highly sensitive and rapid trapping method for the determination of mercury (Hg) was developed. In this method, the surface of the tungsten coil (W-coil) was coated with platinum using the electrolytic deposition technique. Scanning electron microscopy-energy-dispersive X-ray analyses were performed to examine the surface morphology of Pt-coated W-coil. During the experiment, firstly, Hg vapour generated by tetrahydroborate, used as a reducing agent, was efficiently trapped on the Pt-coated W-coil at collection temperature in hydrochloric acid medium. Subsequently, Hg trapped on the surface of the Pt-coated W-coil was revolatilised by the effect of releasing-stage gases at the optimised releasing temperatures and transported to quartz T-tube atomiser. The experimental conditions have been optimised. Under the optimised conditions, a limit of detection (LOD) of 8.8 ng L-1 was obtained using three times the standard deviation of blank values using Pt-coated W-coil trap cold vapour atomic absorption spectrometry (CVAAS) system. The precision of the measurements was evaluated by relative standard deviation of 4.4%, which is obtained by 11 consecutive measurements of reagent blanks for a collection volume of 6.83 mL corresponding to 90 s collection. The enhancement factors for both LOD (3 s) and characteristic concentration (C-o) were found to be 5.09 and 5.02 when compared with the regular CVAAS system without trap. The accuracy of the proposed method was evaluated by analysing BCR 146 R (Sewage sludge), RTC (Sandy Loam 7), ERM-BD151 (skimmed milk powder) and NIST 1641e (mercury in water) certified reference materials (CRMs). There was a good agreement between certified and found values for all CRMs. The results of the application of the developed method in seawater showed the spike recovery ranges from 94.2% to 102.4%

    After the civil war in Syria, many families have migrated to Turkey and the families of these children began their education in schools affiliated to the Ministry of Education in Turkey. The integration of these children into schools has become one of the important issues as the children of Syrian families are included in the Turkish education system. The aim of this study is to draw a road map for school administrators, school psychological counselors and teachers who work at schools by defining preventive guidance work that can be carried out in schools to help Syrian refugee children to harmonize their schools. The topics in this section include acceptance of differences and prevention of aggressionSuriye’deki iç savaş sonrası pek çok aile Türkiye’ye göç etmiş ve bu ailelerin çocukları Türkiye’de Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı’na bağlı okullarda eğitim görmeye başlamıştır. Suriyeli ailelerin çocuklarının Türk eğitim sistemine dâhil olmasıyla, bu çocukların okullara entegrasyonu önemli konulardan biri haline gelmiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı Suriyeli mülteci çocukların okullardaki uyumuna yardımcı olmak için okullarda gerçekleştirilebilecek önleyici rehberlik çalışmalarını tanımlayarak okullarda görev yapan idarecilere, okul psikolojik danışmanlarına ve öğretmenlere yol haritası çizmektir. Bu bölümde ele alınan başlıklar, mülteci çocuklarda farklılıkların kabulü ile saldırganlığın önlenmesi ve azaltılması ile ilgili yapılabilecek çalışmalar yer almaktadır
